Been playing street fighter since the first one with the two big buttons you had to punch really hard. Its been a long time since i was really into it, since championship edition. played 3rd strike for a while and now im really getting back into ssf4. Great site you guys have here, waaaaay more info than an old guy like me needs but hey, im learning a lot. Im going through the joystick mods because my fighting stick 3 just isn’t cutting it anymore, i need a bat top with a round gate. anyways, last thing, anyone know how to make the computer use the alternate costumes you’ve purchased? It gets kinda boring looking at the same old opponents.

I’ve been meaning to join this place for a while now. I suppose it just kept continuously slipping my mind. I’m here because I love fighting games and figured this would be the best place to go to find other people like me. Wonder where I got that bright idea?
Anyway, I dabble in quite a few different fighters so you might just see me all around the place eventually. Whether that’ll be a good or a bad thing remains to be seen.

Hey! I just bought Super Street Fighter IV for my XBox a week ago, and I’ve been trying to get into it ever since, which is why I’m here.
I have zero experience with traditional fighting games, so I’m completely new to the genre, but I’m hoping that’s not too much of an obstacle. I’ve been trying to play Ryu and Abel and have tons of questions - fairly sure that makes the forum perfect for me!
I’ve started my learning curve by trying to just learn the terminology and general game mechanics, but even that’s proven a little tough.
We’ll see how it goes!
Edit: Oh, and do I need to get a fight stick over the standard Xbox controller? Thanks!

Long time lurker, recent poster. I’ve been following the scene casually since SF2, and got reinvigorated during the late stint of SF3. SF4 was a brief re-kindle of the fire. SSF4 pushed me over the edge.
Still fishing for a true main, but Bison seems to gel with me best at this point.
Hey I’m pretty new to the forums. I’ve been reading SRK for close to half a decade and never really ventured into the forums until fairly recently. I started playing Fighting Games around the time of the original Street Fighter 2 arcade after playing the original Street Fighter on the Turbo Graphix 16. Got really into Super Street Fighter 2 and then later got sucked into the more flashy 3D fighting games like the Tekken and Soul Calibur series. Found myself a copy of Guilty Gear XX for the PS2 a while back and that got me back into 2D fighters. Stayed away mostly from HDR though. Found myself dabbling in Street Fighter 3. Played around in Alpha 3. Got SSF4 on release day. Picked up a MadCatz Fightstick Rnd 2 and now I’m playing offline mostly until I can play at a competent level enough to go balls to the walls online. I run a Macbook Pro so I can’t get GGPO but I find myself running Alpha 3 through MAME a lot.
Oh also, I love the fuck out of the original Final Fight and I think Cody and Guy are my two favorite characters in all of Capcom history.
Finally, I currently live in a town with absolutely ZERO fighting game scene for any fighting game whatsoever and it sucks my fucking balls.

I only just got Super SFIV last week. I got Tekken 6 before that a few weeks ago and before that Soul Calibur 4 was my main fighting game. TBH I never had time to learn even SC4 but the older Soul Blade, Tekkens, and SF games were my favourite games. So now I plan on getting better.
I ordered a TE stick (Round Two) which arrived today and I have been quietly reading the forums trying to find out the cheapest way to modify it whilst living in the UK (Baenco74 in Germany I guess?)

Hey I’m new to the site, though I’ve been a reader for a while now. Recently got into SSFIV on XBL and picked up a TE-S fight stick. Found a lot of great information about the stick and customization here. Hope to have it setup with a sweet Deadpool design before MVC3 drops. Should have some pictures of it up in the tech talk soon.

Hey e’rebody. I’m basically brand new to street fighter. Right now I’m playing Cody in SSFIV. I played a little Street ighter 2 back in the day and I usually played Akuma. Anyways, I suck so that’s why I’m in the newb forum. Also saving for a TE edition fighting stick and modding it 'til it looks PERFECT.

Been playing on an off for a long while now, mostly just GG and cvs2(never really got to getting a new gen console…lazy I guess), but I am new to the whole forum thing and I’ve gotta say it really ties the ever growing community together.
Hello everyone. Been a long time fighting game fan but there’s never been any real sort of scene around here that I could ever find. Never got overly competitive until SSFIV and now I’m slowly working on actually getting decent with it. I’ve always loved Fei so he’s who I prefer to use.
I have a lot of fun with them but sadly, online isn’t so great around here so I’ve joined in hopes to find other players/events in my area that could help me get better/find some people who have the same interests as I do.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I’ve been wanting to get into the fighting competitive scene for some time, however I always had something else that had priority (school mostly). I’m interested in SSFIV, BBCS, and TvC. However, due to my lack of consoles, I only have TvC available to me as of right now. I’ve been eyeballing some events that would occur near me (SoCal/Long Beach) and found the Level!Up tournament occurring about 30minutes from where I am at. Still debating if I should go, but not knowing anyone in the community (as of right now) will probably result in a no coupled with the fact that I don’t think I would make it past my first round.
