Just got SSFIV today and before that I played Tekken.
So far with SSFIV I suck. BADLY so hopefully i can learn from here.

I’m not entirely new to fighting games, because I’ve played around a bit in Tekken 5 and on others as well. I’ve only just started getting into it this year. I’ve been recently playing SF4, SSF4, Tekken 6 and MvC2 from PSN. For SSF4 I usually play with DeeJay and Ibuki. For Tekken 6, I play with Mokujin and Christie. MvC2 is quite new for me, so I don’t know my definite team yet. Anyways, if you want to add me on PSN, feel free.

New to Shoryuken.com have been reading up on a quite a few threads for a while though.
I have been playing fighting games since I was a young’n, but stopped for a good 5 or 6 years for no apparent reason, I guess I was really into other types of games, anyway, now I’m back after picking up SSFIV for PS3 and am hooked back in haha.
Am a kiwi (from New Zealand) but am living in Brazil with my brazilian wife. Life is good here!
Anyway, hit me up for a match any time, I main Ryu and Abel (am still learning with both) and I enjoy a good match, whether I lose or win. As long as I learn something right! I often play oline against American players and have a good connection, and sometimes I get a good connection with parts of Europe aswell, Australia is a little laggy sometimes and New Zealand aswell unfortunately.
Wanna get to tournament level play, I am currently investigating tournament’s here in Brazil but they seem to be very few and far between.

Brand new to fighters kinda. I used to just mess around with pals if the opportunity came up but never went out of my way to play. Just recently I bought a copy of SSFIV for the 360 because I was so impressed by all the tournament videos I see on youtube and thought that it’d be neat to learn how to play like that.
At the moment there are no words to describe how much I suck, so I thought that the best bet for me would be to make an account on SRK and read what the seasoned vets have to say. Already the execution guide is helping me figure out what I’m doing wrong, and with time I plan on working on my execution problems.
For now I don’t plan on posting threads because I know that whatever questions I have would probably be already answered, so the plan is to just lurk for a while until I can say I’m at a beginners level.

Just getting back into video games after a long hiatus. I’m very new to arcade sticks and this forum but can def tell this is a new hobby for me. Stumbled upon this site when searching what stick to get and stick modding. Just bought street fighter 4 a few days ago but play a lot of fighters. Mainly older ones from the 90’s though. I got a set of TE’s to start with and want to start building my own next. Anyway… glad I found this forum so I got a good stick for my first one.

Due to lack of players in MBAA (they prefer MBAC because have netplay), I’m plaiyng SSF4, BBCS and I’ll play AH3 and MVC3, until comes KOF XIII for PS3 and MBAA Current Code for PC (and PS3 if TM/FB/Ecole can).

Hiya guys, been lurking on the srk live stream and forums a bit and just started posting.
Been playing fighting games since Karate Champ in the arcades (I’m 37 :D) and loooong time fan of the genre. Havent played “seriously” in well over 10+ years, mainly just playing button-mash style with a few friends in the old tekken/soul calibur series games on ps2.
Just got a TE stick, SSF4, and Tekken 6 for my ps3 and starting to re-learn in earnest. Originally from New Jersey which had a really nice arcade scene, I’m now stuck in the woods of New Hampshire and have to resort to the ol’ console (which isnt necessarily a bad thing)
Anyways, my name on PSN is Boogityboy as well if anyone wants to add me for a few quick noob beatings or maybe someone who is also close to the area just starting out as well and wants a training partner for either game.

Just joined today. Been lurking around the Tech Talk forums for a while now reading threads on making custom sticks, but since the guys at Norris Arcade Sticks are taking so long in making new cases I decided to register and order a case from the trading outlet here.
I’m more of a BlazBlue kind of guy (Main: Rachel, Sub: Carl), but I’ve also been playing SSF4 for half a year now so I’m pretty good at it (Main: Juri, Sub: Dan). I also used to play DOA4 (Elliot) and Soulcalibur 4 (Amy), but I haven’t played those in a while (gave up on them after Xbox subscription died; other two are on PS3, so I play them more often). I’ve played fighting games for a long time (SF2: Special Champion Edition was the first Sega Genesis game I had) but never was very good at them. Samurai Shodown 3 was another favorite of mine. We had a Neo Geo in high school, haha.
When a bunch of guys from my job started trash talking Street Fighter one day, I thought I could take them on. I lost. Horribly.
So now I’m having fun with my fresh copy of SSF4 and playing a character besides Ryu for the first time. Trying out Juri. She’s weird, but great.
Anyway, found some great information on this site and figured I would register. I don’t lose every game I play online now! I don’t think I’m necessarily trying to hit tournament level, but beating my colleagues down would be a good start.
My XBL gamertag is VampyreInABox, and while I’m probably not much competition right now, I’ve definitely been practicing.

I’m new here and have been playing Street Fighter games for a year now (played it when i was a kid and i have almost no memory of playing it except for a flying guy in a red army suit [Bison])
I have been playing SFII The World Warrior and SFIV the most, i can’t combo at all with Akuma in SFIV but i do play a mean Ryu (lol ego).
That’s about it, oh and i used to specialize in Guile, but then they nerfed him in the SNES version of SFII The New Challengers so i just stopped playing him alltoghether
What’s up, SRK? I’ve been reading these forums for a while and figured I might as well join. I’ve been playing a lot of Marvel vs Capcom 2, Soul Calibur IV, and Super Street Fighter IV recently and just FYI, I’m terrible. Still, I love fighting games and this site seems to have the best community.
Yeah, I just got SSFIV a few days ago. I’m pretty terrible, but I’ll get the main stuff down eventually. Been focused on SSBB for a couple years now and need a fresh start on something new, so I picked this up. Trying to main Dan despite his shortcomings and any advise is welcome (No, I don’t want to pick up a better character. I use Ganondorf in Brawl BTW :L).

New to SRK and pretty much fighters in general. I mean I have owned a few installments of pretty much every series, but i never took the time to get “good” at the games. Pretty much learn specials and button mash. No links, no defense, no strats.
Just picked up SSFIV about a week ago and an MadCatz SE fightstick a few days ago. A coworker of mine is pretty beastly and I had been wanting to get super street fighter for a while and finally had a reason to swoop. So now Im trying to learn all the intricacies of the game and practicing one thing every few days over and over. I play ranked same level on live just to get used to some character matches, but most the time my buddy is either drilling me in blocking and punishing in endless lobby, or im working on my combos in training. I hope to in a few weeks, MAYBE be able to hang with some of you guys for some online games.
Not only am I maining Cody, I REFUSE to use anyone else until I learn how to play Cody.
