They haven’t been title contenders since Olajuwon. What was your point here exactly? Francis/Mobley? That’s what you consider recent relevance in Houston’s history? Sad.

T-Mac and Yao would’ve been great had it not been for their injuries. We still put up the second longest winning streak in NBA history (at the time) and were the only team to push the championship Lakers to 7 games in the 08-09 playoffs.

And yet, in two of those years in which you were a top 2 seed you lost in the first round. Is that really title contention? By that logic, Cleveland has a good history of being in title contention. The Knicks and Bulls owned that Heat franchise for a decade. Orlando made it to the Finals before Miami even sniffed the conference round.

Houston won two titles during what’s arguably the most competitive era of basketball, one of them while MJ was playing. Miami won all of it’s titles in what’s got to be the weakest era of defense in the sport’s history and definitely the weakest conference in the last decade. Houston would be a 2-seed in the modern era’s Eastern Conference.

Please, before LeBron or Wade, Miami was a good team at best, but nobody was considering them a threat. Not with real teams like the 90’s Knicks, Bulls, Pacers, and Magic dominating the conference in the post season.

I don’t expect you to renege on your beliefs, but spouting them as fact just makes you look crazy bro. It’s funny to me, but I’m not drinking that Kool-Aid.

Glad Boozer and his terrible Def is off the Bulls. LA can have him.

Really liking what the Bulls are doing this off season with Miotic and Gasol coming in.

Laughing big time at Chicago right now.

First the Bulls Amnesty Boozer and have to still pay him 16.8 mill. They then sign pau who is basically the same player but for 7 mill a year for 3 years. So for this year they are basically having to pay around 24 mill for PAU!!!

I know getting Boozer isn’t a huge win or anything but at least we aren’t paying 24 mill for him. Also can we name this thread Geo vs Knicks Fans? And Sometimes KD Alpha.?

And this changes nothing. Yao/Mac Rockets were not contenders because of said injuries. The Streak was completely unexpected even by Rockets players (Battier told reporters that down here several times). No one gave them any chance that year, especially with their weak start.

Let me get this straight. Houston has gotten out of the first round only once since 1997, and despite this you’re here trying to argue they’ve somehow been more championship relevant than Miami.

And you’re the same guy talking about delusions? Hilarious.

When did 5 years become a decade? Between 96 and 2000, Heat lost to either Bulls or Knicks in Playoffs. You could throw in 92 if you wanted, but that Heat team wasn’t championship caliber. There was no decade.

Right, because a 22 year old Shaquille O’Neal was somehow supposed to not be a huge reason why.

Are you kidding me? Jordan was rusty and only played 17 games before the 95 playoffs. Everyone knows Rockets championships would never have happened had he played both full seasons. Get outta here.

You’ve drank more Kool-aid than anyone in this thread for awhile now. Frankly, you’ve already proven in the past you don’t know enough about the Miami Heat’s history, but this just took it to another level. You really need to stop embarrassing yourself and talking about things you know very little about.

This is why KD is bored and would rather talk about other teams instead of his Rockets:

Yeah, but go ahead and tell us again about how you’re not salty though.

You’re a funny dude, Geo.

It’ll be alright man, maybe LeBron will come back one day?

I don’t blame you for masking your tears after being reminded how weak your team has been for nearly 20 years. And the only relevant thing they’ve done was The Streak, which ironically my team took from them. It also must hurt being the 3rd string team in their own State.

Oh no, the words. They hurt. My ego, oh noes.

Lol, this dude right here. Stay salty, Geo.

I’m optimistic about my team, but it’s not like I’ll curl up in a ball and cry myself to sleep like all of Miami did this week if they don’t win a title. Houston will be alright.

Not such a horrible thing when the other 2 teams recently won a championship. Magic was 23-59. Only 2 teams in the entire league had worse records.

One minute you call me “delusional” because of how much confidence I have in my team. Now all of a sudden I’m “salty”? Over what exactly? Your whole troll agenda is breaking down.

No, Houston will not be alright. They’ve sucked for nearly 20 years and didn’t get any of the free agents they wanted. LOL at trying so hard to act nonchalant though. Yeah, if my team cleared cap space and no one wanted to come here, I’d probably pretend not to be mad too.

lol Miami doesn’t care. Geo is probably the only fan they have left now. The rest of them just “quit this basketball thing” and are probably back to following soccer.

Heh, the Lakers gonna have a funny locker room. I wanna sneak in when emotionless Boozer, hyper Nick Young and angry Kobe argue.

There is a HUGE difference between someone like JR Smith and Lance. Lance has some off the court antics, but he’s pretty efficient on the court, which means he’s going to retain more value than JR. JR is good for ONE thing - buckets, and he’s in the volume mode. What’s 50%? Lance on the other hand is pretty efficient at scoring, but effective on defense (which doesn’t ‘go’, a good ball handler and facilitator, and an energy man. Even at his worst he’d be a 10M kind of guy. Now you put him around grizzled vets who’ve gotten it done like Kobe or Rondo - both of which would work well side by side with him - and he would get nudged in the right direction, don’t forget, the kid is still a kid at what 23. He’d be going into his sophomore year if he did 4 in college to mature…so he’s got TONS of room to mature, and his game will only improve when driven in the right direction.

  • :bluu:

Funny how they basically swapped Gasol for Boozer, lol. It works that way sometimes.

I’m concern with this team shot blocking around the rim, that’s something Pau gave us with his length the ability to change shots. Instead, we have basically 4 power forwards with 2 of them being undersized at the position. I start Randle, and bring Boozer off the bench. I think Ed Davis should play some Center because he can finish strong around the rim, and come in for Jordan Hill.

Sacre is the tallest player on the team now lul.

  • J.R Smith had a lot of potential back in Denver playing for George Karl. J.R never bought into playing defense, even though he could be a good defender, J.R also jacked up shots for the fuck of it. He never truly assimilated into a teams scheme. If he reeled his shot selection back and decided to commit to defense he’d be a completely different, and better, player. That’s to go on top of his on court antics.

Lance worked hard for Larry Legend, he was willing to run through a brick wall for him. Lance always sat/stood by him when he wasn’t on the court during games. I don’t know how committed he’ll be in his new situation and what his approach to the game will be now that he isn’t playing for the person who saved his NBA carer. Like you said, he’s young. Lance can either go up (turn into a legit all-star), or meander (turn into the new JR). *

Lakers re-sign Henry and Wes Johnson for 1 year 1 million deals.

Sweet

Why am I seeing that the Cavs are willing to trade Wiggins and Bennett for Love?

Why would Minnesota even consider being the franchise that traded their star player for Bennett?

I say do it…
