metal gear doesnt need a second analog stick. I think i played the crap out of VR missions to just know that Snake just sneaks, no need to aim down the sights of a rifle.
You had to wait a while to get to it, but “Father & Son” is an awesome note to close on.
When the MGS3 cast founded the Patriots, they wanted to “better” mankind and guide it into a era of peace and harmony. Twenty-odd years later, all they were doing were controlling mankind from behind the scenes much like thier predessors (the philospher’s) were doing.
Big Boss said fuck this shit, I’m going to live on an island and if any soldiers (like himself) are sick of killing and having shitty lives, then you can live there too. Thus Outer Heaven was born.
The remaining patroits got spooked by the power that Big Boss and his followers were amassing, and decided to manipulate the US goverment and ultimately Foxhound to send their best agent on a one-man tactical espionage mission. So begins Metal Gear 1.
I have to agree with this list.
I remember playing MGS4 and bracing myself for any awesome music to hit me outside of the intro. Sadly, it never happened… until I hit the last boss.
Wasn’t Big Boss Snake’s commander in MG1 though (only to do a patented double cross later in the game)? I never played through the game (I will I will!!) but I remember reading that after finishing MGS4 and going, “huh?”.
Has anyone played the english PSP Metal Gear Peace Walker demo yet? For a psp game, it sure looked good. Those controls though, that’s going to take some getting used to. That and I can’t stand the art style for the cut scenes…

So this conversation confused me. What is Snake talking about?
I am still in a dream,
SNAKE EATERRRR!
No one knew that he had left yet. No one knew who the leader of Outer Heaven was when Snake snuck in.
We’ll never know. Snake seems to know about Vamp from somewhere, but that’s never legitimately explained AFAIK.
MGS4 only really tried to answer the big questions…
I just took it that Vamp knows Snake because of the tanker incident, where Snake was framed for the death of Scott Dolph aka Vamp’s lover and Fortune’s dad. The “wait…it can’t be” I’m guessing is since Vamp knows Snake is there on the Plant, Snake realizes Dead Cell will be looking for him, but he can’t tell Raiden that because he’s trying to hide his identity via Pliskin.
Yeesh, sorry for this bump, but I just wanna say that with the PS3 getting collections of PS2 games in HD (which can really help those that missed out or lost their copies), I would gladly buy an MGS collection that has-
MGS: Twin Snakes (Subsistence)
MGS 2 Subsistence
MGS 3: Subsistence
…and I had recently bought MGS1 from PSN, but non the less, I’d still pay for that collection.
Oh and for anyone who hasn’t seen them, this wikia links to the MGS3 Secret Theater video clips-
Secret Theatre - The Metal Gear Wiki - Metal Gear Solid Rising, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid 4, and more
EDIT: blargh, this guy made a playlist of it with the clips in HD-

Just this past summer, my brother and I did a Metal Gear marathon.
Started with:
-MGS3: Snake Eater
-MGS: Tactical Espionage Action
-MGS2: Sons of Liberty
-MGS4: Guns of the Patriots
Did this all in about 2 weeks. Love the cheese that Kojima puts in his game (Meryl’s codec is on the back of the CD case!).
I would disagree on an HD revival of these games. The games were just great they way they are. What needs to happen is a trophy patch for MGS4 and a PSN integrated MGO (none of that konami ID crap).
source? i haven’t heard anything about it
Sorry I’m not saying there is one, but that I’m kind if ‘wishlisting’ that one be made
