The Official Mass Effect 3 Thread: True Ending only 1600 MS Points

yes they do

Whaaat? Forreal? that fucking sucks man… LOL ! I’m gona have to go send bioware a “loveletter”.

I dont think it would matter
Keyword : “Squad”

Basically the current popular theory and the one that IMO makes the most sense (and has the most supporting evidence) is the [details=Spoiler]indoctrination/hallucination theory[/details]. This still has a few plot holes in it but if Bioware wanted to fix it, they totally could and make it 100% legit. As it stands, even the secret ending has a few glaring issues with it (consistency and plot holes) though there are bigger problems overall with the three ending sequences [details=Spoiler]I could write long ass paragraphs as to why the destruction of the mass relays is fucking dumb as hell and why the whole conversation with the catalyst is illogical and hypocritical as fuck but I’m still too salty to do that  .[/details]

I demand a list of all the things I can have sex with in this game.

I see no Krogan on that list. Game sucks.

the ending is not what you may think it is.

[details=Spoiler]I think the whole ending is a hallucination by Shepard and we’ll get the true ending in DLC. Think about it you guys, Shepard is just a mortal. Being so close to the reapers leads to a high chance he could of been indoctricated during the final moments. And remember the black outlines surrounding the screen during the conversation with the illusive man? Black is associated with Reapers.

I think Shepard is still on the ground after being hit by the lasers. He’s still alive but the final “ending” of the game is one huge hallucination.

I’d also like to support my theory with the following observations.

OVERALL OBSERVATIONS:

  1. The Catalyst Child - Remember guys, only Shepard has seen and interacted with the “dream” child. In order for the Catalyst to assume that “familiar” form it would of had to of entered Shepard’s mind. Also in the first level of the game Anderson tells Shepard “to snap out of it” when he’s “talking to the child in the vent.”. This alludes that the Reapers have a small grasp on Shepard’s mind. In addition, the child disappears afterwards.

-the child goes by unnoticed when boarding the escape ship (As if no one sees him). But then that specific ship is destroyed by the Reapers. This could be seen as the Reapers trying to subliminally discourage Shepard from pursuing his mission.

  1. Liara showed us that Shepard’s mind can be infiltrated - If you romanced Liara there’s a brief scene before the final assault where she gives a “gift” to Shepard. Theoretically, if Liara can tap into Shepard’s mind the way she did (and alter surroundings) then the Reapers should be able to do the same without much problem.

  2. **Shepard was scared during the final assault ** - The Reapers’ indoctrination is more prone to overtake someone when they are doubting/unsure of themselves. Yes, Shepard knew what had to be done. But through much of the final mission dialogue Shepard is unsure of the success of the final plan.

ENDING OBSERVATIONS FINAL CHOICES:

4**. Anderson is RED, The Illusive Man is BLUE.** - The Reapers do not want to die, so of course they would make Anderson’s “destroy” choice look bad. The control choice is blue because the Reapers know that mortals cannot control them. Shepard told the illusive man this moments earlier.

  1. Synthesis is NOT a “good” solution - Theoretically, Reaper Code could be uploaded into the new synthetic parts of organics. This would allow the Reapers to brainwash them. The Reapers could then control the new “cyborgs” just as they did the Geth.

  2. **Shepard only wakes up in the Destroy ending - **This is because not being swayed by other “red herring” choices means that Shepard has successfully resisted the Reaper indoctrination attempt. He wakes up from his “dream” after choosing this. The other two choices cause you to become indoctrinated and thus a slave of the Reapers.

  3. **The illusive man and Anderson were ALIVE in the final confrontation - **
-What reason would the reapers have in keeping TIM alive after he told them of what the alliance was planning? No guys, Shepard personally wanted to end the illusive man once and for all. That’s why he appeared on the citadel in his “dream.” Shepard wanted closure. Also notice how TIM was at the Citadel without any hint of Cerberus assistance.

-Anderson is described as being pretty old in years, so if your squadmates didn’t “survive” the final rush then how did Anderson? Also guys, Anderson can be considered Shepard’s guidance figure throughout the game. Of course Shepard would want him alive in the end. [/details]

OMG, all this talk about the ending makes me feel like I’m missing out!!!
It won’t be sometime till I jump on my ME3 file, I need to practice SF4 and SFxT!!! SAD FACE!!!

I just went through the Omega 4 relay guys, and I’m landing on Namek.
GIVE ME A MOMENT, I’M ALMOST DONE WITH 2!!!

what secret ending?

damn, my only options now are ashley, steve or liara…

The only logical answer is steve.

Again it does not account for the “best” ending, you guys are thinking way to hard on something that was wrote from Hollywood Writers. Not to mention the leaked script that actually at least made more sense then the ending they trimmed down.

Btw in the best ending: [spoiler=] The relays are destroyed and Shepard does not die[/details]

So yeah people can quit trying to make this shit some super secret brain teasers shit, it isn’t. It is written mostly by a bunch of women who wrote romance novels for a living.

I dunno how much Bioware’s slash fiction writers influenced the story, whether they affected the ending or only focused on the gay romances, but I did read that there was a high employee turnover (over 50%), including the lead writer from ME1 who wasn’t part of the ME3 team.

As for the current popular internet hypothesis, I’m going to have to apply Occam’s razor here. We can grasp for straws, or we can use the simplest explanation. Bioware dun goofed.

Doesn’t

[spoiler=ME3] destroying the relays pretty much fuck over everyone in terms of communicating with each other and such and put everything in disarray.[/details]

It isn’t even the game is bad, it is not. The build up to it was good, just the ending was bad. It would have been better if they did not cut the necessary things that were in the script. At least then the ending would have made sense instead of you going why is this here, and when did that happen.

[spoiler=] Yeah it does and I think that is dumb of them to do that. The whole point was too build all these different cultures together to work with each other. Then you destroy the one thing that can keep them together. It completely underminds what the whole story of ME was about(which was trying to get people off all different beliefs to work together and not fight each other). But the ending does hint that made one day they will be rebuilt[/details]

What was the original ending set up to be anyways?

[spoiler=] Like has been said Anderson was supposed to help you up to the Citadel after getting hit with the beam. Joker was supposed to fly up as well and rescue you as you were falling through the Citadel destroying the relays. That is why you see Joker flying away from the blast. On the planet you are stranded on Edi, Joker and whoever your love interest is(Tali in my case) come out of the Normandy with you still in the ship. After the credits it shows Old Shepard talking about his days with his grandson. It is still dumb mind you, especially with the little boy thing. But it at least made sense[/spoiler]

holy fuck, why would they cut that out? wouldve been more satisfied with that…
