It’s not about that though. Rose wins the match up for the sheer fact that Ryu can’t mindlessly throw fireballs from anywhere on the screen and that there is only one spot that Ryu can safely throw fireballs in.
If Ryu can’t win fireball war, he loses the match up. If Ryu can’t keep a character out with his fireballs, he loses the match up.
For example, Dhalsim, Guile, Fei Long.
Rose is another one who also wins at footsies range.
And Andreas you have too much hype into Air.
IMO Luffy has a much higher skill level.
i also think the ryu matchup is in ryu‘s favor, ryu can punish slide with hp srk, and his fireball dominate in a close distance (probabaly a little further than 2mk distence), and ryu has more damaging combos than rose has.
but luffy’s mind game is really godlike, I really looking forward to watch canadacup.
maybe in super but in AE I’m pretty sure its 6-4 Rose or at best 5-5 for Ryu. You don’t need to be at close distance against Ryu. She dominates him in footsies range and in fireball wars. So that’s 2 places were she can beat him pretty easily. I don’t suggest sliding against any shotos or any characters that have a 6 frames sweeps.

Rush his ass down. Gen has no reliable reversal just like Rose. He’s scary midscreen because if his normals are amazing at counter poking. Plus if Gen has 2 bars stocked and he confirms cr.mp hands, you’re going to eat like 300+ damage. So you want to force him to burn his meter for ex Gekiro.

Canada has some great players and there will be plenty of big names from all over there. Also Rose is not a crap character :p.
