think back to when gamerbee beat justin it was like he won evo except he didnt lol. same thing here. ryan beating daigo will raise a lot of international eyes whereas louffy vs ryan is in the same country and has happened several times…whereas OMG ITS DAIGO!!! not taking anything away from anyone btw just stating the obvious
I didn’t quite like the interview Ryan gave, saying that he would’ve won everything if it wasn’t for the few moves he missed. That really doesn’t mean anything, he should know that. Key to winning is consistent performance. Anybody can do right moves, it’s about the right moves at the right time.
Daigo lost apparantly by being less consistent than what is expected. Seemed like a mental problem there, he never opened important matches with an alternate character. Just by doing this, he lost control. Guess he won’t do that again. Does he have a manager/coach to beat him once in a while? Could help
Hope there will be an interview with Luffy at iplaywinner. The over-exposure of Ryan probably has something to do with his sponsors trying to get publicity? That’s alright, that gets us those good matches.
back in the day, sponsor or not, the winner usually got some type of interview before the runner ups.
just sayin. I dunno how things are these day though. No hate to Ryan Hart at all. Just seems if he’s been losing to Louffy several times, it’s more of Ryan either not bothering to learn the matchup more or literally isn’t paying attention to adapt quick enough. Cause from the SVB finals, he pretty much got read hard and quick.
Fluffy, the plan is to answer the questions DURING THE INTERVIEW! Lol.
Anyone else want to ask a question for the interview? I will be doing it tonight so if you want to ask a question, now is the time to put it here.
Hmmm interesting and surprising opportunity. Luffy hasn’t been interviewed yet since the win(s) at SvB?
I’d like to ask Luffy “If you could say anything is your biggest concern in SSF4, what is it?” I’m thinking in terms of strategy, and it could get match-up specific.
idk why everyone is taking this to heart? (no pun intended). well luffy won and thats what counts. congrats luffy this makes me keep going with Rose even when people these days think only about tier lists.
Luffy: Why did you choose to play rose in the first place?
And a follow up: Daigo has been known for sticking with Ryu, but he decided to counterpick at SVB. Have you ever thought about counterpicking in certain matchups with characters / players?
I would ask Luffy what is Europe’s impression of the U.S. in terms of skill level and respect show towards each other, and does he feel there is still a gap between the U.S./Europe and Japan.
Also, I would like to know about the scene in Europe a bit more. Are there large concentration of skilled players like there is in the U.S.(NY and Cali), or are the better players spread out throughout the country? Are there any massive rivalies or do players mostly help each other? etc.
Ask him general questions like who his practice partners are for tournaments. How does he manage between work + Street Fighter 4. His Rose vs. Ryu matchup seems really good, almost as if he knows it by heart, ask him how he does so well against Ryu. What are some of his worst matchups. The French scene seems like a big community of its own, yet we don’t know much about it if he can tell us a bit about that. Talk abit about ESWC as well, not sure what to ask but something touching that subject
Two part question: What Luffy feels like Rose’s bad match ups are and how he overcomes them in tournament play?
Side question:
And I thought European tournaments were character locked or is it just France? So SVB was not character locked and top 8 (?) was single elimination? What’s up?
Why what kind of pad does Luffy use? I saw him play at SvB but couldn’t really see what pad he was using and was wondering since his execution was spot on.
He uses a PS1 pad with some funky button config.
Luffy have you ever considered using a stick? Why do you like the PS1 pad over a stick?
Also when and where will this interview be posted?
Ask him if he feels like there are any advantages to using the pad over the stick with rose.
This is becoming a hot topic, lately.
Also, ask him if there are any matchups that ever tempted him to counterpick.
I use a pad.
I feel I can do back dashes faster and feel safer hitting buttons in succession.
>.>
It seems to get people riled up, too.
I agree that dashing is just faster on a pad. A thumb tapping is less movement than dashing on a stick.
It has only been recently that I’ve heard players entertain the thought of pad having some advantages. It is harder for people to look at your hands to see what you are doing, too. When I am mashing out an ultra it is quite obvious, especially playing with only 6 buttons.
Oh, people never see my doing my shit.
People have even discovered ways to Plink and do other “stick only” techniques on pad now.
Plinking has existed on pad for ever >>
Just can’t do some stuff like sliding for Honda hands or something lol.
