Cool but don’t let that be the dealmaker for whichever phone you go with. SoftBank and NTT DoCoMo do this already. KDDI used to label Skype and anything else using data networks for voice calls a “prohibited app”. KDDI is hyping this, willing to take a revenue cut to get more customers but they’re kinda late to the game.
Now, depending on network usage, SoftBank and/or DoCoMo might change their mind but who’s to say au won’t do the same after enough time has gone by to have people ‘forget’ the hype.
In my opinion, the service you go with depends on:
Where you need coverage (Japan is small but there are still pockets of shit reception)
What features you want
What plan has those features
What phone has those features
How often you plan to upgrade your phone
Which company is most likely to have the phone you want in the future if you upgrade
well i already use AU thats why it got me a little excited lol.
but realistically i use the osaifu-keitai too much to change whatever phone i have to a smart phone.
Ah, sorry, I thought you didn’t have one and were shopping around. Looks like Sharp got around to making a smartphone with “j-features” (1-seg and Osaifu Keitai, etc.) the Sharp ISO3, coming out in November this year. That would be my next au phone. I use DoCoMo for business osaifu-keitai, etc. and SoftBank w/ pakehodai for personal - girlfriend (White Plan) and family (Google Voice). I’d rather have one phone with 2-in-1 (phone numbers) and have all the features instead of lugging around two cell phones all the time, so this au android phone is looking interesting…

Has anyone dealt with concert tickets and mixi? I have an extra concert ticket and I don’t want to sell the ticket, nor do I want to just give it away so I’m looking for the right person to accompany me. Is mixi usually safe for this kind of thing?

Well I moved from Kyoto to Saitama recently so most of the people I know live in Kansai, and the few I do know in Kanto can’t make it because it’s on a Monday. Since I don’t know many people here, I figured it might be a good way to meet someone with a similar interest in music as me.
