Anything going down in Kansai antime soon? Or any of the peeps in the kobe area up for anything???

Andre, i lost your number when i had to get a new cell phone, can you PM me or text me on my phone again? Thanks.

What does ze mean?

If you mean as used at the end of a sentence, it’s a casual use of Japanese to express agreement. For example, ??? means “(yeah) let’s go.” Zo, would be to emphasize your opinion or decision. For example, ??? means “I’m going.”

Hope that helps.

Any of you guys going to TGS tomorrow or the BB location test this weekend? I will be around for both

^^so yeah, this never came to pass. Looking back, I’m glad it didn’t, as I still had stuff to do here this year.

I’m trying to complete an online TEFL certification just so I have ‘something’ under my belt, and plan to apply for JET whenever they put up the applications for next year. I guess my first choice to teach overseas would be Vietnam (that’s where I really want to go), but it seems like not very many job postings are put up online, and the ones that do show up require experience/fancy certifications. I’ve been told it’s easier to find a job by showing up in Vietnam and looking around, but that sounds kinda risky.

I guess what I’m thinking is applying for JET and seeing if they’ll accept me. In the meantime I’ll be looking for stuff in Vietnam, and I guess I can always decline JET, right? If nothing comes up, I guess I’m thinking of doing 1-2 years in Japan (sounds crazy just typing it), and during my visit, maybe travel to Vietnam and see what I can find.

One of my concerns if I do go is “falling” for Japan, and never making the trip to Vietnam. Oh well. I will gladly listen to suggestions if you have them. By the end of 2009 I should be pretty close to being “good to go” in terms of leaving the country, but I’m quite undecided on how to approach it. The lack of job postings for Vietnam makes it even harder, ugh.

Just fyi, I’m 26/m/TX (originally from PR), if that helps at all.

honestly, if you want to go to vietnam anyway…skip the online TESOL thing and just go to vietnam and get a CELTA there. you’ll almost definitely be able to find a job while you’re there as well.
