Hey all,
We have now been open for a bit, so I figure we no longer qualify as “new.” As such, this will function now as an informational thread. Most all information can be found on our website:
and most of our current events and news can be found on our Facebook page:
We are located at :
47 South B Street
San Mateo, CA 94402
We are open Wed-Sun 3pm to 12am (depending on demand, we might open earlier on Saturday, close a little earlier Sunday)
It’s right next door to the San Mateo Caltrain station. There’s parking across the street in a multi-story structure and all the parking is free after 6 and all Sunday. There’s O’Neil’s Pub right across the street and more places to eat than you could imagine (if you need any suggestions, just ask ).
We have 3 “sections” so to speak. The main game floor has regular charge-per-credit games that are running on the latest and greatest card reader system. A $2 deposit is required to get a card, and will be returned to you in full when you return a working card. The games are priced as follows:
SSF4 AE - 100 points
Gundam vs Gundam NEXT - 100 points
EspGaluda - 25 points (Galuda 2 available on request)
Dungeons and Dragons Tower of Doom - 10 points
Street Fighter 3 Third Strike - 25 points
Ikaruga - 25 points
Virtua cop 3 - 50 points
All Neo-Geo games - 25 points
Garou MOTW
KOF 98
KOF 2002
Real Bout Fatal Fury Special
Rage of the Dragons
The Last Blade 2
Samurai Shodown 4
Puzzle Bobble
Magical Drop 3
Sengoku 3
Shock Troopers 2nd Squadron
Metal Slug 3
Blazing Star
The point purchase conversions are:
$1 - 100 points
$10 - 1200 points
$20 - 2500 points
The second “section” is also on the main game floor. I have 6 Namco Noir cabinets set up with PS3s inside them. Purchase of a wristband ($7) is required to play them, and the wristband is good for the entire day.
The third “section” is by the counter. We have 4 Toshiba low input lag 32" screens. These can be rented for $7 an hour. It’s a good alternative if the other games get a line backed up and you have a few friends who don’t want to wait. With a credit card as deposit, we can loan you a console to use if you would like. We have a small selection of games, but we’re always on the lookout for more. We have a couple of TE sticks as well that can be used if you’d like. Again, all of these are first come first serve, so if you want to absolutely ensure you can play what you want with the controllers you want, it’s best to bring along your own.
I have also obtained an Asian region 360 with a selection of import games (currently Death Smiles 2, DaiFukkatsu Black Label, Ketsui Black Label, and Virtual On Force). One of the Toshibas is mounted on a rotatable wall mount for easy tate action.
The last feature is the back lounge. It’s available for parties and group rentals. It’s outfitted with a comfy couch, a bar height table, and a 50" 3D capable plasma (with 2 pairs of glasses). If anyone is interested in booking it for an event, please ask me for details.
So that’s about it. If you have any more questions, please post a question here or PM me and I’ll be glad to help you.
Hope to see you all there!

UPDATE:
I’m pleased to announce our first tournament series, the Gundam vs Gundam tournament. It will take place starting this Saturday, July 9th at 7pm. The plan is to continue this every other week (so the next tournament will be the 23rd) Pilots will be randomly put into teams of two. If fewer than 16 teams are present, we will do a round robin tournament, otherwise, we will run a double elimination bracket, best 2 out of 3 matches. The grand final match will be 3 out of 5 matches. The cabinets will be turned to event mode, so no winner’s handicaps. The entry fee will be $5 and the venue fee will be purchase of a wristband (also good for play on the console cabs all day!) Prizes for the first 3 finishers, 70/20/10. After the tourney, we’ll keep it on freeplay for casuals for a few hours, so you can get your GvG fix in.
As any questions and issues arise, we will answer them and update our post as needed. I’ll see you all Saturday!
UPDATE UPDATE:
Given the success of this last tournament, it’s time to start our bi-weekly tourneys for Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition and Marvel vs Capcom 3! Our first in this series will be this coming Saturday the 16th, starting at 4. I don’t know how many people there will be, so I’m starting a bit early to make sure we have time. Venue fee will be a $7 wristband (also good for all day play on the console cab setups) and $5 to the tournament pot. Format will be standard best 2 out of 3 double elim. Both semi finals and finals (both for losers and winners) as well as the grand finals will be 3 out of 5. These will give you a last tournament to sharpen your claws before Evo.
