this chapter is overflowing with manliness.
That was the manliest page of Manga this side of Fist of the North Star.
It’s funny how Mr. Curtis has a sparkly too.
Fellow FMA nerds, clear this up for me. The sacrifices are called sacrifices because they hold so much gate’y power right? So killing them will be like killing lots of people at once and will help make the giant transmutation transmute easier. Correct?
Basically Ed, Izumi, Al, and maybe some other people I don’t know of.
I’m just kinda unsure about them being sacrifices because I am young and stupid and forget things.
IIRC, Mustang is one of them too.
I thought sacrifices were people who attempted human transmutation?
I don’t think the sacrifices have ever been explained in detail. And Mustang is a sacrifice and he’s never done human transmutation. IIRC once Father was talking about sacrifices, and he had chess pieces or something lined up in a transmutation circle. So I would just guess that he plans to station them at several points on the big Amestris circle and have them open the gate.
Anime was okay this week. I’ve never seen an anime that worked as the Cliff Notes for the manga before.
I just had to make sure I wasn’t forgetting some important sacrifice note. Now that you guysz have said they really haven’t said what that term entails I feel less retarded.
I enjoyed the anime a lot this week. They went all out with the goofiness. Winry was making me LULZ with the automail love.
Anyone else see Scar, Greed, and Loki on the wanted posters? Greed is dat dood.
Damn, not up on watch-anime yet… ;p
Ah what the hell, I either completely missed it or it showed up right after I posted. Thank you!
BUMP.
Big pretty official subbed episodes of FMA: Brotherhood now have a home on youtube:

Greed is in the next episode!!!
EXCLAIMATIONS!!!
His fight scenes look boss. The way they made Izumi throw up her blood was hilarious. “BLAH”
Been liking all the episodes so far and aside from how Hughes’ scene was rushed a bit, I’m preferring this over the older series by quite a margin. This week’s episode was pretty good too, some of Izumi’s angry expressions were priceless.
But yeah, bring on the new-to-animation content!
That Greed Episode was quite good. Lots and Lots of funny moments and top notch animation. Marta is adorable.
I concur. That part when
Ep 13
Izumi came over and kicked the crap out of Greed and when Ed got all mad when Greed asked for an equivalent exchange are definite highlights.
I see a lot of manga readers complaining about how much content is cut from this episode. Is it really that serious?
I guess the biggest cut from the last ep was Ed not going to East City and meeting King Bradley and Armstrong there. Without that, I’m not sure how the military is just going to stumble into Dublith.
I appreciate that they blew threw the first eps to get to the never-before-animated content, but now that we’re here I do hope they slow down a little bit.
Episode 14 is out.
Ep 14
[details=Spoiler]Because of the fast-pace, Greed’s subordinates getting killed didn’t have the same impact as it did in the manga. Oh well? They weren’t THAT important.
Bradley was a beast. I remember thinking when I read this part in the manga, “Man, how awesome would this be to see animated!”
Also, next week we get to see Ling/May in animated form for the first time.[/details]
Now that the anime has caught up to the “re-run” stuff I really hope they slow down the pace a little.
Oh, and for those of you who have passed on the new series because it was “re-run”, you may want to start watching now. Its a different FMA from here on.
They flew through that whole arc. The animation wasn’t as good as last episode either.
It’s also weird how they didn’t have Ed and Al telling Bradley/the military where they were going and then having them just show up. Oh weird episode pacing, how I love you.
EDIT - They cut a lot from that arc, I’m reading over it and they need to slow the fuck down now. A lot of funny stuff from the manga was axed. There is like 68 more chapters to fit into what will probably be 38 or something episodes. They are going to have to squish it in half.
That sucks.
Hopefully the series will be like 72 episodes or something.
ANN seems to list that there’s going to be 26 confirmed episodes, but who knows what’ll happen after the 25th or 26th ep that may extend the list. Valkyria and Basquash were written first as 13 epsisodes, but then changed to 26 after the airing of ep.12 or 13.
Probably be watching 14 a bit later.
