Was it excessively sad? Perhaps. I only put down a generic title over it, but what I liked was Al’s struggle between what makes a human a human and what doesnt, Ed being torn between killing numerous people just to get his brother’s body back and his morals.
I guess what Im saying is, it was those specific scenarios and the ones like them that I liked, not necessarily everyone being depressed and emo the entire time
The manga overall was very humorous at times. Did you read it? It does a very good job of balancing the extra sad serious stuff with wacky lolz.
Yes, whoever saw her wins. Az, you, and I are all winners!
You can read FMA for free on One Manga. That is what I did.
This, they are flying through the already done anime parts it seems to focus on the new manganime parts. It will get extra serious again. Especially with Hughes, Envy, and all the other non first anime crap. The new Hohneheim parts should be pretty sad.
I guess i enjoy heavy philosophy more than comedy in my animes. I really enjoyed the first one because of that. The moral struggles within the characters, etc.
A lot of the same philosphys apply to the Manga story anyway it just doesn’t beat you over the head with a stormy cloud every single time you flip the page.
The second anime represents the manga so all that sense humor is suppose to be in there. Not every scene has to to have some type of dark tone to it. Fast pace? Why haven’t even gotten to the good parts yet, still a long ways to go. The first anime was butchered crap.
I believe there was an interview a while back where Arakawa said she uses humor a lot because its more entertaining than being sad all the time. So the new series is doing a good job of bringing over the humor that was in the manga.
BUT as VS said, things do get way more serious later. The manga spends more time revisiting what happened in Ishbal, and all that stuff is pretty heavy and good. Also, the original anime never really deals with what happens in the next episode; specifically how that affected a certain character.
I dunno, I’m glad they’re speeding through but I guess if you were watching the new anime only it would feel kinda rushed. I guess the producers just figure that most people have at least read the manga or seen the first series?
Sad episode was sad. But…they did kind of rush it, so it wasn’t as sad as it could have been. I like that they’re trying to blow through the “rerun” stuff as quickly as possible, but I do think they should slow down a little bit at the important parts.
Cool black girl isn’t getting the Loki Treatment, yay.
Whew. Lots of long nights and I’m finally caught up on the manga. Cool stuff. The Winry fan service was a long time coming, whew. How often do new chapters come out usually?
