Hahaha yeah Armstrongs bad ass.
Ep 5
Spoiler
Ed got really lucky with his first encounter with Scar. It’s no problem for Scar to destroy inorganics, so if he had thoroughly done so, Ed would have had to go through the installation procedure again.
Ep 6 is another great one.
even though i don’t care for winry much, she was pretty funny in this epd.
Episode 7 was more on the development side, with Sheska (more funnier than the 1st season) being the main focus when it comes to the episode’s comedy. Looks like stuff will catch up next week with the whole 5th Laboratory incident. Might satisfy some folks’ need fore more action.
Winry is gonna be more important in this one since she has a better role in the manga.
OHHHHHHHHHH, the new anime is going to diverge soon!
I can’t wait wait wait! Lust is going to get rick rocked so hard.
This week’s episode was another good one. I thought the fight between Ed and the Slicers were a bit better looking than the older series. Barry is still comedy gold, though and I like how the animation style they used for his tiny backstory shown. Things are likely to heat up in a dramatic fashion next episode, should be interesting.
Don’t forget the Lust fans who think she actually had a big role in the series in the first place.
Ha, I love the hijinks piano music, also the sad scene violin music.
Did anyone see Izumi at the train station? I DID. I win!
Next week is the manga/anime crossroads, weeeeeeeee.
Yeah, I caught the Izumi cameo too.
I thought next week was just the big tearjerker ep? The anime didn’t veer too far off course until the Greed arc.
You saw her too! YOU WIN!
It’ll probably go tear jerker, then ishbal remember time, and rush valley/izumi.
crossroads
Spoiler
Sad Hughes episode is the beginning. It doesn’t get all crazy, but I think after that it subtly veers off. We’ll get new Rush Valley arc with the girl, Sensei arc, hidden prison 2 ( aka Lust gets owned arc ), and it will be completely different
The anime was pretty close to that list until the greed arc but there are some significant differences. No stupid crybaby wraith, no black girl lolz in rush valley, and some other little things.
But yeah, the Greed arc is when everything will get way way different.
Hmm
Spoiler
The new anime is flying through stuff, I wonder if they’ll even do Rush Valley at all. I can see them just dropping off Winry, and then having her tell them about cool black girl in a phone call or something. The Loki Treatment.
I’d be sad if they skipped cool black girl. Plus they have the baby in rush valley that they earlier in a farmhouse for the old anime. I think they just Loki’d Loki because the old anime pretty much covered that exactly.
They are going to jump around with the Ishbal stuff is seems too. I hope they don’t cut out the state alchemist destroying people.
They are probably going to have 50 some episode, so they probably want the brunt of those to be based on new manga material, hence them flyign through the old series stuff so fast.
Hughes sadness was in the middle of a 51 episode series last time. They got to it in episode 10 this time. That bodes well for new zing awesomeness.
Man, I forgot just how much the old anime mangled the manga’s storyline. What a mess.
I guess it also helps to have the majority of the manga done, so they don’t need to bother with crappy filler. Just 50 episodes of the best content from the manga. Awesomeness indeed.
The funniest part is that the first episode was filler out of nowhere, but it was probably the best non learning to drive filler that I’ve ever seen.
Can’t wait for some of the Kimbley stuff from the manga. Also the Zing ninjas, Wraith, Pride, and Sloth.
And Snow Queen. WEEEEEE. Man those should be amazing animated considering how wgreat the Scar vs Armstrong mini fight was.
Even the Ed versus Armor Brothers fight was really well animated.
“This is fun, your like a monkey!”
The first series has nothing in the second one, this how fma was intended to be.
I’ve stopped watching the new FMA anime due to it’s rapid pacing. There is no character development going on at all, compared to the 1st go around. Also, the tone is much more humorous and less serious, which i dislike.
I also saw her too! Along with her man. Do I win as well?
I flew through the original anime series and movie last month, and over the past few weeks have been watching the new series online. Haven’t read any of the manga yet so I’ve been kinda avoiding this thread. Other than being poor, I’m kinda torn on buying the books because of the censorship crap I’ve read about. Should I not let that get in the way of reading the series as well?
I think they are pacing it fast to get past the old stuff that was already done in FMA and then get to follow the manga where the first series went off on a tangent.
the second part I agree with. The reason I loved FMA so much was its dark and serious tone
God I thought the constant and never ending grim dark cry cry was one of the worst things about the first FMA.
