hey i got a question for anyone… then you use pliers to crimp the disconnects onto the wires…does it matter if 1 string of the wire fits? and does it still work if i tighten them up? :o
donald, as long as it connects its all good. And I would recommend tightening it so it won’t slip.
And if you are going to get concave push buttons, just get the one from www.therealbobroberts.com he has the horizontal pushbuttons, which works great.
Unless I’m mistaken, the only difference between horizontal and vertical microswitches is that the vertical ones tend to eventually bend easier, something that happens over time. If this is the case, I’m not spending an extra $6 shipping cost to get the buttons from somewhere aside from HappControls. Fact is, the buttons themselves are cheaper than that, and so I think I’ma just stick to verts.
I like horizontal ones. They make it easy for quick disconnections when a microswitch dies.
Orichi what sticks are you getting along with the buttons? bob roberts has really good price on his stick/buttons and service is really fast. Bob ROberts>>>Happs
Help!!!
Okay here’s the deal, I’m using a madcatz ps dual shock controller for the PS2 I think, I want to hook up a p360 to that mutha fucka, but when I hook everything up, the pad keeps holding the down direction.
In case you were wondering there is no conflicts with the wireing on the whole positive and negative end from my soldering because when I plug it into the ps2 withuout it hooked up to the actual 360 and the other buttons the pad works fine, I need to know what to do, I don’t have a vibrate function on the controller, so I need to know where the 5+ wire is and All that jazz and mumbojumbo…
Thanks
Help!!!
Unfortunately… there is no +5 volts wire. However, if you read back a couple of pages, you’ll notice that Rotendo posted the PS/2 pin data. According to that data, pin 3 is 9 unused volts. DO NOT hook this up to the P360 without stepping the voltage down to 5V. I haven’t concluded what the best way to do this is yet, but if you can wait until Monday, I’ll try to have the answer then, and I’ll see if my stick constantly goes down too. So when I figure out the best/easiest way to change 9V into 5V, then I’ll also tell you where to wire the shit and whatnot.
Re: Help!!!
Thanks for the speedy response,
I was wondering if you or anybody else would know why the down button would be stuck on a constant when i hook it up to the stick, there is no visible bad connections but when I hook up the down, the 360’s ground and the controllers ground up the down is constantly being activated.
Re: Re: Help!!!
If you mean by the button continuing to get signals like if you were physically pushing the buttons, then it’s probably because you have the wires hooked up to the wrong common on the micro switch. You have the top leaf which is the ground and then you have the bottom two ‘plug’ looking leafs sticking out. Top being normal open, the bottom closed common. Okay, something like that. Anyway, if you have it hooked up to the bottom when you press the button, the action or signal will cease i.e. continuis punch will stop. If connected to the top, when you press the button it’ll send a signal or you’ll execute a punch, kick etc…
I’m sure you know what they do and have to connect them, but that’s all I can think of right now that could be the problem.
XARCADE VS MAS
I finally saw a pic of the mas stick and it looks exactly the same as the xarcade, it even has the start in the very annoying position so you might pause the game if you mash too hard.
I have a 2player xarcade and player on 2nd player side lets me mash all i want Plus with the extra pinball buttons i can always remap the start button and mash on the left side.
For only 50 bucks more you get 2 joysticks instead of 1 MAS stick and those 2 joysticks are great for games like super smash TV.
XArcade i haven’t noticed any problems except sometimes I can’t pull out my tiger knee ahvbs when I should. Very frustrating!
So my question is why buy a MAS when you can get an xarcade? They both use arcade parts so they should be identical.
XARCADE VS MAS
Well X-arcade doesn’t use Happ components, which are the stuff used in arcades. Also, Mas gives you the option of a P360 joystick, while X-arcade only gives u the option of an imitation super joystick. Plus, the super joystick (whether imitation or authentic Happ) has microswitches that tend to bend after extended use. Also, a Mas gives u the option of convex or concave buttons. Overall, people like the options u get wid a Mas and the arcade authenticity. But, since X-arcade is cheaper, and if u like the feel of it, go ahead and buy it.
X-arcade owners question:
When you have a Dreamcast Adapter, is it normal for the L and R to be switched around ( in the game ) when you first plug up the X-Arc?
I mean, it’s like this setup:
Jab, Strong, Roundhouse
Short, Forward, Fierce Punch
This is how my X-arc plays on my DC on default. My pal brought his DC adapter over, and his does the same as if I used my own, again, positions switched.
I have to simply go into the options and switch Roundhouse and Fierce around, but other than that, no problems. With all my other adapters, the buttons are in the right place, no prob.
Thanks,
FX
Anyone else have this problem?

P.S.: Did anyone notice that like most of the posts here got taken off. Was it because of down time?
Hey hey…yeah the site was back up now…figure I register ! I posted for selling as well…
It was probably because of the bs and whatnot and the double posting shit. Well, glad to know that someone is keeping this thread clean and shit.
Snaaake, I checked out your site well before you posted here on SRK. Well, posted about it on SRK that is.
Alright, one quick question…
Which DC and XB converters have been confirmed to be completely compatible with a PS2 MAS stick? Drop a link if you can.
