Perfect 360 to 5VDC adaptor
If someone has an X Arcade and wants to put a Perfect 360 in there, they’ll need a 5VDC power supply. Radio Shack sells one
What’s the wiring plan to make a connector for this power supply to work with it?
Does anyone have any advice on choosing/preparing/finishing the wood used for your sticks?
Other question: I’m looking at getting a Happ joystick. As this is my first project, I’m staying away from the Perfect 360. What are the differences between the Super, Competition and Ultimate joysticks?

sorry for posting more pics of my stick… jus didn’t have time to do all at once… fuckin geocities… got me all excited n shit…
i jus stick to basic spray painting and LEXAN… but i think thats easy… if you want yours to be simple jus make sure to sand the sharp edges and uneven spots…
i use 3/4 in particle board… it’s the same as a MAS stick… if your not familiar with this fine product…
i think preferences of joystick height and size are to matter, i think ultimate is comfortable to me jus cause i like the US arcade… there are lollipop joys out there… but i dunno where they are, lol:confused:
they all work exactly the same, trust me… it’s jus the stick shape thats different
anything else, jus ask me? aii

Here’s a good review right here that addresses your inquiry
I like to use plywood because its strong, and cheap, and doesnt break as easy as MDF. I have used MDF and I always have trouble with it. So I just assemble the stick, glue it together and sand it flush. Then paint that shit down.
Personally I hate the Super, and the Ultimate. I think the Ultimate feels shitty, and I cant stand the super.
I mostly use Comp, and I just built a P360 and I didnt think that it was worth the extra money IMO. You can tell the difference, but I dont think it justifies the expense. I am getting the pics of my joystick developed FINALLY. So MAYBE EVENTUALLY I WILL BE ABLE TO POST THEM lol. Im such a slacker. But I think if I build anymore I am only going to use Comp stick and buttons, unless somone just WANTS a P360. (I will be building some for my crew this summer.)
Best sticks
What is the best custom arcade stick
So far i see HAPP Comp stick and MAS Pro.stick
Which is better and is there a better one
On the xbox mad catz hack- Would it be OK to just leave the triggers intact if you’re making a 6 button (plus start and back) stick? It seems like if the pcb still has them on and it’s sitting snugly inside the box they’ll never get pulled and the pcb won’t complain a bit. The reason I as is that I’m all for using the fewest steps possible.
Really could use some information on hacking a PS2 Dual Shock. I opened mine up tonight, and it looks like it should be easy to connect to the base of the ribbon cable plug that links all D-pad, Start, Select, face buttons, and triggers, but I’d like to see a pin-out on this connector if someone has one. Thanks.
Took a look at the traces running on the pad and came up with the following pin out. Still have problems establishing what pins 10, 11, and 12 would be though.
1-L2
2-L1
3-Up
4-Left
5-Down
6-Right
7-Select
8-Analog
9-Start
10,11,12-???
13-Square
14-X
15-Circle
16-Triangle
17-R1
18-R2

reposting this question again…anyone know?
theres ATLEAST 1 ground… but it is possible theres multi-grounds…you’ll need to test…for that, you’ll need a multi-meter/tester…there might be different grounds for different buttons, you’ll have to figure that out on your own…
i actually just used a $5 interact ps 1/2 controller from walmart…works for both just fine and theres only 1 ground for the whole thing…hope this helps…laters
Here are my first two sticks, and I sold my last two and never got pics of them, they were much nicer lol.
Stick 1
Stick 2
This is how my wiring looks nowadays.
edit: That loose wire is so I can add the two extra buttons if I feel the need.

Does anyone have a reason not to just leave the analog triggers intact inside the box? I’m new to this so go easy on me.
Thanks.
wiring help needed
^When I hack DC pads I leave triggers on, I dont see why Xbox would be any different
In the pic above you I posted my example of neater wiring and I made a jpeg diagram that shows where to put the wires since the pic is blurry. I didnt show any grounds, so all you would have to do is daisychain the grounds which goes without saying.
You can get a barrier strip(also called barrier terminal at Radioshack for 2.99.
So J-ride, how about writing a basic “how-to” on making those joysticks. What materials did you use? Where did you buy them? I want to make a joystick like that to play CVS2 online and fast!
