The Official Custom Arcade Sticks Thread

I use rubber feet. They’re sold at home depot as rubber bumpers.

Don’t order directly from happ…They charge wayyyyy too much for shipping…
Order from here.
She doesn’t have any listed now, but send her an email. Also, I think you’d want competition sticks. They’re best happ sticks outside of p360s IMHO. The difference in price is just if you order 25 as opposed to ordering 1. Avoid ultimates like the plauge…

Bob Roberts prices are always fare and I’ve done business with him many a time. Pony Boy from arcadecontrols.com is good to.

Alright i got all my specific wood materials cut to size, my wood screws and my Lexan, is it okay for me to start essambling my stuff together now? Do i varnish the stuff after its put together or do i do it seperately?

Man…these measurments are messed up for that Pro Clone model i’m designing, the sides are soo frigging tall, i have no idea how these measurments are sopposed to work.???

Do you guys put hinges on the back of your mass so it can open up to repair? Or you just unscrew it from the bottom?

You can do it after putting the box together but before putting the lexan on. What finish are you using?
If using something like poly, if you varnish it before assembly make sure to use blue painter’s tape to mask off the areas that will be glued up. IMHO it’s just better to wait til it’s put together. If you’re using MDF, wood screws don’t hold all that great. What you want is coarse threaded drywall screws. And to prevent the MDF from splitting when putting it together, pre drill the holes with a small diameter drill bit. It should be the size of the screw not counting the threads.
For gluing MDF, doublecoating and being generous with the glue works best. By double coating I mean putting some glue on, waiting 15 minutes for it to set and then applying another layer. Make the 2nd layer decently thick. Not dripping but very wet.

I have a little question: is this stick easy and worth modding with sanwa JLF-TP-8Y??

I’ve never seen that stick…
I guess the best way to tell if it’s modable is to open it up and have a gander at it’s guts.

I guess I’ll try opening it (it has never been opened)

another question: does the adaptors have lag? (total control plus, or an Innovation - I guess)

Again, I have no idea. If it does in fact have lag you can always switch out the PCB for a dual shock 1. It’s the most compatable with adapters.

The adapter have some input delay. Either that or it just wont recognize diagonal imputs or something stupid it seems.

Maybe you’ll have better luck than me though.

my stick on pooped out on me

hate to post this but are the threads to buy custom sticks still up?

Bows head to give dearly departed stick proper respect

That sucks. What died on it? If it was just the PCB you may be able to give it some more life via a “heart” transplant…

Southtown’King:
They’re in the trading forum now.

im thinking its the PCB, its just glued on there:rolleyes:
what could i do for the transplant?
find another PCB?

Yep. Just get a new one and hack it up for arcade stick use.

thing is had someone build it for me
but they are no longer in business,
sooo yeah

Any pics?

im sure somebody could wire you one up with QDs you would just need to slide them on the button and stick terminals and stick the pcb down.

ill try to get some

damn
now my ps2 too…
well the controller ports.
while playing i have to replug the controller a lot

thinking about just getting a new stick instead…
dunno yet

If someone made a Snakes on a Plane japanese stick I’d totally buy it.
