My god, you must be a big guy, what are you 6 ft 7? Mine is slightly bigger than a Mas and it fits in my lap perfectly… I hope I never run into you on a bad day. Nice sticks though, I like to have the stick in my lap or capable of fitting on a coffe table or desk, but thats just me.
If you mean like DC 2 PS converters, then yes.
Yes.
It works because it’s a powe source and it’s already a wired soldered to where you WOULD have soldered the 5V one running from the p360.
No. The PSX/PS2 game being played is what makes the rumble feature work. Whater action in the game you were playing will send the signal to the controller i.e. getting hit, firing a pistol and etc… The power source is alway current, it doesn’t shut off just like a remote control, once you push that button in, a signal is sent. If you want to learn more about how electrical shit works, then go to www.howstuffworks.com This is a great site and there is also an article on how video game systems work.
With converter? You mean if it’s a PSX/PS2 p360 stick, would it work on a DC using a converter? If so, then yes. Just like what MrSimpson wrote.
ps 5v
you can also solder to where the plug from the ps meets the board… look for the red wire usually. Its pin 5 on ps one dual shocks. I find thats easier
ps 5v
thanks dood.
ONE more question… sorry for asking soo many questions… but is it safe to have 2 joysticks plugged in with p360s running at the same time for both DC and ps2 respectively? thanx in advance.
Okay thanks Rotendo, Ive built three sticks now, I am still learning though, and there is still some things I dont know! haha Oh well, thanks for all your help, I want to build some p-360’s this summer :). I got the pictures of my stick and Im going to scan them this weekend for sure.
p360
I made a few sticks with p 360. My friend and I play on dc with 2 p360s and its fine. I wouldnt plug in a vmu though. That would be bad. P360s are awesome and they arent as fussy as everyone says. My joint came undone while i was playing and the wire for the power source was just touching the lead for up. All that happened was when I pressed anything it would go up. I resoldered it and it worked fine.
ao
Ill post some photos of my wiring and such when i get them. Hopefully that will help.
p360
thanks for your help…preciate it.
Can anyone with a X-arcade controller take a picture of the part that connects to the back of the computer? I wanna make sure that it will be able to connect into my computer before I buy it. thanks
I think that the X-arcade is USB. I could be wrong though. Anyone have a homesite for total control and other converters? I want to see what kind of converters there are. Ive found some on Buyrite I wanted to know if there is a PS-> Saturn converter?
ok ive been going at it building a stick for a wile now. due to fucked up controlls ive been held back. anyways today i bought a quantum fighterspad controller and to my suprise its not what i expected. anyways if anyone has some site or has hooked one of these before please post your info (i do NOT want to buy another controller) ill post my stick once its done…i think youl enjoy it.
quantum fighterspad
i dont think the quantum works. Mad catz work the best
i suck cuck
After multiple delays, CvS2 for xblive finally got a street date cc said they would stick to. So after waiting to see if one of you more skilled builders would cough up a setup for Live (after all, I wanna to trash talk AND back it up) I decided Id give it a go. Bear in mind, im not a carpenter…
The toughest part was dealing w the 3/4" mdf I used for the box, and slotting/dremeling it down to accept the xblive communicator module. After that was done, the rest was relatively simple. I stuck with the first party M$ pad, as that’s one of the only that supports xblive. Unfortunately for me (us) the pcb points are really tiny, luckily some prior experience installing mods helped get me by… flux is your friend ppl.
Id be curious if anyone has found a suitable 5v lead (possibly used for the rumble motors) that we could pull for a p360. Id like to make that upgrade sometime down the road, as for now Im using a competition stick w the ultimate pb’s. Im an old skool sf2 junky, and wanted that ghetto look/feel… I know I know, it could use some artwork, but hey it works!
Onto the pics :

Now I just gotta wait for cc to get off their arse and ship the f’n game… see you all online on the 11th, btw my “GamerTag ©” is Mog.
ez.

Nah man. I just like the controls at regular height/arcade-height. Playing low on the Mas stick is too uncomfortable for me, and throws me off my game since I’m thinking about it too much. But trust me, they’re perfect size for anyone sitting down.
so dude?? you made a xbox stick???
it works perfect??
can you that a pic of the soldering points so i can make one.
~RaNDoM
Can you recommend the best site out of all of them mentioned for a total NOOB when it comes to making Joysticks. My friend cough is very interested.
this is probably a bit late, but anyone that wants a cover for their stick ( the pictures and whatnot ), i’ll gladly make one. just tell me what dimensions ( in terms of inches ) you want, any particular character or whatever and i’ll make it for you. if you want one, post here or just PM me.
Take a look at t he very beginning of this site. It has great references to sites that can help you. The cornerstone of joystick making IMO is arcadecontrols.com.
Crickey! I can’t believe that you made one!
WOW!!!
I got a Madcatz joypad for this purpose as it was rumored that the first party controller had contact points that were too small. When I saw your pics, I had to agree. Your soldering skills are pretty impressive! Just a couple of questions:
-
Did you have to solder to those points or could you have taken that black plastic stuff off of the contacts and just used those exposed points for the joypad portion?
-
I was reported that the first party joypad was analog also in another thread on another site (arcadecontrols.com). The beauty of the Madcatz was that the pad was digital and NOT analog. I am supposing that it is not true, eh?
-
If you can, if you can post another picture of your solder points so that we might be able to emulate your greatness. Thanks in advance!
I am still goingto go for the Madcatz stick. I just got it and will try it out on LIVE! first before dismantling it. I am also waiting for 360s to come in. I am going to try to connect the motor wires for my 5V. Hopefully it works and doesn’t fry my system.
I think it is safeto say that your post helped many on this thread who are gearing up for LIVE! matches!
