DJ-VAN
I have unlimited BandWidth.
thanks for the help pain.
What are the main american parts makers then?
I though Happ was only a seller. They sell Slick parts, so is Slick a part maker or a Happ brand?
Industrias Lorenzo is the manufacturer of Happ parts(buttons+sticks). So to answer your question, american parts are made in europe.
Midway also, I assume, for other stuff.
Great to know. Thanks.
They are a local maker (for me) so i could buy from them directly.
This is the right site http://www.industrias-lorenzo.com
So, apart form Sanwa, Seimitsu and Lorenzo, is there any other part maker around?
I’m getting ready to build/buy/make/create my first two arcade sticks. I want to make them with American parts since I play an American arcade.
From all that I’ve read it seems that my options are to build my own out of scratch. The whole box making process seems somewhat difficult and intimidating. I can probably find someone with all the nessicary tools but am still kind of scared. The router seems to be a very percise instrument, and using it for my first time I dunno. Also drilling the holes with a hand drill also sounds kind of scary. I’ve pieced togather bits from all the websites linked in this forum. The cutting seems fairly straitforward, but after that is where I get a little lost.
-How difficult is it to drill those holes by hand?
-How difficult is it to drill the area to mount the joystick?
-How difficult is it to do these things to the plexiglass, or plastic or whatever it is?
-How difficult is it to soften up the edges, as seen in most of peoples sticks?
My other options are to buy one of the 25th anniversary sticks and to follow the wonderfully illustrated soder free mod. My only issue here is the price and lack of customizability. 80 bucks for a pair of these + new parts seems to add up quickly
So my questions above plus are there any other viable options?
Borrow an electric drill and drill a few holes in a spare table.
Any news DJ-VAN?
I’m interested in doing this exact same mod
Hey I was wondering if I can use speaker wire to solder a gamepad? I picked up a roll of phone line but the wire is so thin. I havent really had time to run to radio shack lately. (LOL yes I am super Ghetto stick builder) Last time I went to Radio shack there was only speaker wire.
What gauge is the wire? If it’s 18 or 20 It’ll be ok. A bit thick but it’ll still work.
Fanta.
Thank you Im learning how to build with all your guys threads. I have only modded my anniversary sticks with HAPPS. Now I will enter the gamepad.
For future ref the kind I use is radio shack 22 AWG stranded. It’s flexible and won’t break if you sneeze on it. Anything thinner is a bit to fragile for my own tastes. Keep in mind though a lot of people ust 24 or 26 AWG with no problems.
Here’s a project I’m working on:
NiteStick
There’s another album of my 2 SFAC Happ mods. I’ll add more pics tomorrow or tuesday.
Here’s the blog so far I’ve wrote on the BYOAC forums:
BYOAC Thread
hello
i am currently building a custom stick and I am using Byrdo’s dimensions and I was wondering if anybody have a 6 button japanese layout template. How exactly do i print the template so all i would have to do is lay it on top of the panel and mark the center of the holes? Also anybody have the dimensions for the case design thats on http://mysite.verizon.net/res8l8d9/j...lder/index.htm? The site is down and i would really like to make another stick with a different case.
Thank you
*oh I’m sorry about that i found a template a while ago from finkle and i forgot to edit this post

This thread is only 5 pages long, and 3 jap templetes have already been linked to.

That type of wood recommends to me? MDF is good for this case?
In which type of paper I make the impression of artwork?
That measures recommend to me?
That is everything
Thanks for all ^^
MDF is good, particle is good material too, but both has their pros and cons, most users now days uses MDF… speaking of which, I think I might buy some mdf, I have plenty of particle board, but I want to make my next stick using mdf
photo paper (kodak) or someo ther high quality paper, it would also help to have a very good color printer. you can also try kinkos
you mean measurements? that’s totally up to you as everyone has their own preference.
I’m surprised no one has answered this sooner, but then again SRK has been slow lately and I found this thread on the second page so it doesn’t get noticed unless you do some looking around.
Yes! Dude, I just built an arcade cabinet, and put my ps2 in it, this is gonna help ALOT!
Bleet, er, Mystic, sorry I didn’t get your AIM, just send one again and I’ll help you out.
