No it doesn’t matter which direction you mount the stick. You’ll just have to make adjustments for wiring. TRNG already posted a picutre showing how the wiring works for all 4 positions for mounting a JLF.

Could you give a link to that please?

Again this was done by TRNG. So thank him next time you post in his thread or something.

TRNG you rock, thank you and Paik too.
The Seimitsu LS-32’s have switches, not a 5 pin, so I guess it doesn’t matter at all how I mount it.
Even with the 5 pin header it doesn’t matter… but that’s because I soldered to it.
I don’t know what the 5-pin cable does.
DJ-VAN: I have that Playstation stick. I bought it at the time because I desperately needed a joystick and didn’t have access to my Saturn Hori (HSS-07) or Sega Virtua Stick (HSS-136). The stick itself is not that bad. It feels like a standard Hori stick - similar to the Saturn one. The buttons on the other hand, aren’t so great. They are slightly raised so aren’t very sensitive, as well as being pretty noisy. I plan on replacing them with Sanwa buttons. I also want to replace the stick, but am still deciding whether I want the Seimitsu LS-32-01 or the Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y. Either will do, but ultimately I think the decision will be based on how easy they are to install. If you do get to install either of the above mentioned sticks and buttons, please let me know how well it goes.
I want to build my own custom stick, I am interested in building one with sanwa parts. My only concern here is getting a good box, I prefer a small box. I am not sure on how to build one… or where to buy one.
A place that tells me how to make a box or where to buy one would be great, anyone know of any?
Hey i make empty sanwa cases if ur interested in getting one.
That’s one of my fav stick sites, tinchu.
I went to Lowe’s today and bought a sheet of MDF for my next creation. I also ordered some red t-molding from dream arcades. This one’s gonna be real small but very comfortable…
Pics of work in progress coming soon…
I’ve gotten a lot of requests lately, so I’ll post my info.
-Ottawa, Ontario
-American parts
-can do multiple consoles(DC, USB, and XBOX are easy, psx can get complicated when combined)
-plexi can be installed
-all 3/4" mdf
-can do custom shapes
-no T-molding
-no art, just one solid color
Ideal for Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal residents for the lack of customs.
PM me or shinace@gmail.com
Hows about some pics, Ace? I wanne some of your creations out of the lab. I know they have to be nice with you being a mad electronic scientist and all…
Anyone here could build me a custom stick for xbox/xbox360?. If so send me your sale price for it at asexynerd@msn.com.
A_Sexy_Nerd: If you’re looking for a custom stick, you shoudl go to the trading outlet. That’s where all the builders have their threads. Off the top of my head, the people who are currently building and taking orders are: finkle (the only builder that makes metal cases and one of my favorite builders), Dreaded Fist, Chainz, and Shin Ace. I’m not sure if Dreaded Fist or Chainz does Xbox/360 sticks but I know finkle and Shin Ace do.
Also, you should go out of your way to post in their thread or PM them for a price quote instead of posting and hoping they’ll contact you. Hope this helps.

Does the simetsu stick need less clearence?
What parts do you prefer and why?
Japanese like Sanwa and Seimitsu or american like Mas or Slik
You mean, American like Happ. Mas isn’t a stick parts maker.
DJ-VAN
The JLF-TP-8Y has little less hight (more clearence) then your JLW-TM-8. Download the catalogs I scanned:
Seimitsu Catalog (60Mb)

Sanwa Catalog (22Mb)
http://arkadesticks.com/sanwaca.zip
There is pics of blueprints so you know how big they are.
Thanks TNRG. Yeah I’m pretty sure it will fit now, the two sticks that my friend ordered were cheap I guess because they are old sanwa joysticks, and much larger than the new ones.
BTW I don’t know how much bandwidth you have, but you may want to use http://filefront.com/ or http://rapidshare.de to host them if you have limited bandwidth :bgrin:
