Does it work being plugged into to back always?

Yes. It always works. Under windows it is initially only recognized as a generic input device then after plugging it back in it is recognized as a chimp pc/ps3 controller.

Is this only on your PC? Have you tried a different cable?

Hi Vicko,
This happens on PC and PS3.

I tried a new cable on ps3 on your suggestion. Same thing happens. I was watching the LED’s while testing. I saw that initially the BL and GL LED’s lit up and it was not working. Then I unglgged/replugged and the BL and RL lit up and it worked.

The LED’s signify console detection right? One more thing is this is about 3 years old PCB.

Thanks for the help.

I’ve got a 360 MadCatz WWE Brawlstick that I’ve been using and I just want to mod it to work on PS3 as well, but I’ve never soldered anything before in my life.

Am I in for a nightmare or should I feel pretty comfortable ordering this?

You could do it this way, there would only be one solder joint if you didn’t take the rj45 route for older console support. You would have two cables in this case, do not plug both in simultaneously. I’d recommend a dual pole dual throw switch in order to have a single cable, though that would require a few more solder joints. Questions about dual modding a TTT2 WiiU TE stick

Just use a chimp and one USB cable

i wired up a ChImp and a madcatz/gamestop pad. when I plug into the ps3 I get taken to a screen that says ā€œturn off the systemā€ as soon as I remove the 360 pcb the stick works great on ps3. any thoughts or suggestions?

thanks,
adam

You didn’t wire it up right

I could have told you that. Any tips on what to check first?

just sayin.

Sounds like your home is held down. Plug into a pc and start, run joy.cpl

Thanks, I’ll check it out. I cleaned up all the wiring because it looked like crap, hopefully having a organized wiring helps out.

I have problems with my MC Cthulhu on the PS2.
Cables are fine (I built two). They work perfectly on PC with a ā€œDualshock<->USB-Converterā€. But a real PS2 does not recognize the stick (tested with two different consoles).
Has anyone an older firmware than 2.3 for me to test out? I tried both, 1ms and 10ms-versions but to no avail. I would like to do further testing with older firmware, but I don’t find it anywere :-/

somewhere in this thread it says to do a continuty test on all columns all the way through the wire down to the cthulhu. Do that and report your findings.

Hey guys is it possible to get a firmware so that left and right at the same time is neutral?

NVM im a idiot

Question about game cube mode. How do I get the stick to register as the dpad?

If anyone was wondering you hold start at plug in. Figured it out.

Hey Guys, not sure if it could help someone, but I didn’t find any videos on internet on how to install the MC PCB on a PS3 madcatz TE. So here it is : http://bit.ly/1nc2NQ6. It’s in french but I’ve added EN subs. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll be happy if it helps at least one person  Cheers

Hey toodles, I’m looking into options for making a smash arcade controller. an mcCthulhu has directional that are atuned with the analog stick and not the dpad correct?

edit: I just used context clues from a previous post >___>

Nevermind, got what I needed
