The official Cthulhu and ChImp thread - Try our new Dreamcast flavor!

o…k… seems like i’ve got no response yet for my problem :stuck_out_tongue:

here it is again:

i AM testing my dual modded TE stick on my PC ( i do not have a xbox to test it on)

when i plug it in under xbox mode, no game controller is detected.
the xbox guide button keeps flashing from 1>2>3>4, instead of a steady light on 1.

HELP~~

Either one of your wires has come loose or something is touching something that it shouldn’t. Remove the PCBs and inspect your connections visually. If that fails, Toodles would probably want you to break out the multimeter and start checking stuff.

exactly like what bomberman said.

Here’s what i do when i have issues… I posted this on bomberman’s thread, hopefully it can help you as well

Hi guys I am new here.
I have a TE for Xbox 360 and I am sick to beg for ps3 sticks when I go to tournaments.
So I want to make my TE dualmod, have anybody done that with Cthulhu?
I was think about buying a Assembled Cthulhu so I wont have to solder it.(I dont have any soldering skills) .
Plz guys I need help I dont have money to buy another stick.hehhe.
and one more thing after i install the cthulhu is there any lag?

Search is your friend.

Any idea if this allows it to work on Dreamcast with a PS1 connection via the Innovation converter? Mine doesn’t seem to work with it right now, though it works fine on a PS1 or PS2 system…

The core PSX code hasn’t changed, so if it didn’t work with your converter before, it most likely wont with the 1.3 version.
Is anyone with one of the Innovations that doesn’t work willing to loan it to see if I can get it going?

I won’t be using mine for a while, so I’d be happy to send it your way if you need it.

exactly, i have already examined the connections visually, nothing seems loose.

i am ready with the multimeter if u would just tell me what to check, Toodles

Shan - what happens when plugged in for PS3 mode? Do all the buttons and everything work?

Stupid question time:

If I want to dual mod a 360 TE stick, can I just wire a Cthulhu directly to the buttons/stick and have 2 USB ports, one for PS3 and one for 360, without ever soldering to the 360 TE’s PCB?

I just want to avoid messing around with imps and soldering to the TE’s PCB, and as I understand it I can use Start+Select on the Cthulhu for the guide on the PS3?

I’m part of Chris Beans’ multi-buy on overclockers.co.uk

is there any way to install an assembled Cthulhu in the TE
without soldering at all?
if there is plz let me know and step by step =)

thx

yep, it works fine in ps3 mode.

I would double check your D+ and D- connections for the Xbox pbc. Maybe you crossed em on the imp board, shorted em somewhere, didn’t solder to the joint well, etc.

how can i check where exactly is the problem? based on visual examination, i dont see anything wrong.

can you point me in the right direction, Toodles, as to where to check voltages/resistance to pin down the source of the problem?

yeah.

Steps:

  1. go here: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=191221
  2. pay money
  3. ship stuff

:bgrin:

hehehehe
I will do it myself…

haha, cool…yeah, I don’t think there’s any way to install it without soldering… you can cut down the amount of soldering you need to do by using the screw terminals, but you’ll still have a good amount of soldering to do on top of that…

I’m down for some loanage too if you need another one
