I get to this part:
**
make sure there is infinite resistance between the E column, the VCC screw terminal, the G column, and the D column. **
But the resistance is low not infinite. Any ideas?
So uh, I have a Cthulhu modded TE. Is there a PS3ā> PS2 adapter? I dont want to do the RJ-45 mod -___-
Since my last posts involving swap magic Iāve bought GG:AC + US version, and I too have to unplug/replug my stick for it to work for PS2 if I turn the system on while plugged in.
Just solder the diodes in. You may not need the diodes to protect the consoles, but you will need something soldered in to connect the V column to where the boards get their power from. It might as well be the diodes that come included with the upgrade chip.
Its mode of the gamecube controller support that tries convert the digital inputs from a stick into the analog motions SSB expects. Description of the modes:

Installing in a dual mod is a hojillion times more difficult and more work than installing the cables. Hit up trading outlet, post up what you want, and try to hire a tech to do it for you. Iām sorry but I donāt have time to do mods for folks at th moment.
Read through Bombermanās tutorial. He makes it clear the steps needed with either version.
Thatās a problem. You need to find out where they are getting connected together and fix it. Most likely spots are are where you soldered wires to the Cthulhu, and just about anywhere on the Imp.
ok it looks my dual modded TE stick might have a problem. I tested the stick right after i did my dual mod, and it was fine then, now there is a problem:
it doesnāt matter whether i set it to DP or RS, whenever i plug it into PC, it is recognized as a TE stick, and when i try to plug it into PS3, it tells me an unknown device has been plugged in.
HELP!!!
check your connections with a multimeter.
in particular the +/- D, grounds and 5v points on the cthuhlu
Smash mode
I saw someone mention a Smash Bros. mode for Cthulhu. What does it do exactly and how do you activate it?
I just finished my Hori Fighting Stick 3 Dual 360 / PS3 Mod with a madcatz arcade stick pcb ( http://slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_diagrams/360_diagram2.jpg ) and a Multi Cthulhu using a 4 pin switch (connected all usb wires to it) to change from ps3 to 360 and vise versa.
If i connect the stick to the pc its recognised right for 360 and ps3.
The only problem that i have is, that the Start and the Home button in ps3 mode seems to be pressed all the time after pressing the button once, even when the button is released after that.
If i remove the wires of Start and Home Buttons of the 360 PCB from the luster terminal, where all wires are connected to, it works.
360 mode works without problems (only one of the analog triggers does not work but i think the poti died).
What could be the problem?
Since it works, but is stuck in 360 mode, it would seem to me that the D+ and D- (at least for the 360 mode) and power and ground are just peachy. Itās not switching when he wants it to switch, so he should be looking at the line going to the Impās āguideā point, which should be the āRSTICKā from the main pcb.
Was there something missing in the answer I gave 3 posts ago? I think it covers everything.
What are the golden rules of dual pcb mods?
man, this thread is STILL not stickied?..really??
Ack, sorry. I didnāt see that line. Thanks.
Since you asked for suggestions, Iām thinking it might be useful to have a mode like SB Advanced but where the function of the ārunā button is inverted, so you dash/smash by default and hold the button to crouch on a platform or do a plain attack. Seems like Iād be holding the ārunā button constantly otherwise.
Ok, so Iāve read through some threads and tutorials and I want to be sure before I make a purchase.
By installing the ps3 cthulhu + imp in my 360 TE stick, a la bombermanās guide (except no need for rj45), I will have a stick that uses a single usb output (the original cord) that can be switched between 360/ps3 mode?
yes.
ok Toodles, so i have tried tp test the boards with ur troubleshooting guide http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=6789666&postcount=1975
Everything passed until
step 3A: the voltage reading jumps around, from 0 to 2v then 3v, then back to 0-2-3 again, and again and again.
step 3B: voltage reading is 0.02v
(for step 2c, it reads 4.5V, hopefully that is all right)
and all the above is obtained by plugging the stick into the PC with supposedly PS3 mode on (where the problem is the stick remains stuck in xbox 360 mode)
and how should i check for the guide connection on the IMP to the RS ?
thx
Move the switch to RS, plug it into a PC. Check the voltage on the Impās Guide point. The voltage should be low ( < 1 volt) with the switch set to RS, and should be high ( > 3 volts) with the switch in the middle at DP or all of the way over to LS.
shan1212- you are testing for continuity. If you donāt know how to do that just do a google search on testing continuity w/ a multimeter. Some multimeters have a setting specifically for that, mine didnāt which I thought was weird, but I just used the resistance setting instead
EDIT: or you can do what Toodles said, which is probably better since he knows everything about this stuff, haha.
ok just as expected
the voltage with the switch on RS = the voltage with the switch on DP/LS = 5V
what does that mean or what should i do next ?
Edit: the voltage on the RS spot of the TE stick PCB = 0V or 0.01V, dont know what that means
And with the slide all the way over to RS?
u mean LS?
ok let me summarize :
First of all, i am using a MC cthulu, 360 is set to D1 and Cthulu is connected to D2, and Guide is connected to RS. Problem is stick is stuck on 360 mode.
voltage of the āGuideā Point with RS on= voltage with DP on= voltage with LS on = 5V
voltage of the āRSā point on the TE stick PCB = 3.25 V with āDPā on and āLSā on
but with āRSā point, the voltage of the āRSā point on the TE stick PCB = 0V
please advice.
