There’s not really anything to ‘wire’. The jack mounts on a case, and has a female A on one side (the inside), and a female B on the other (outside) side.
Find a small USB AtoB cable, and a LONG USB AtoB cable. You take the small on, plug the B end into the Cthulhu or Imp’s USB jack, and plug the other end into the Neutrik. Close your case up, and that’s it. When you want to play, plug the B end of the long USB cable into the neutrik outside of your stick, and plug the other end into your PS3/PC or whatever.
Sorry if this might be another repeat…but I tried searching and couldn’t find any imformation…
I have a question if you guys can help me that would be great. I recently bought two cthulhu boards ps3/pc version and made a custom dual panel. Works awesome on ps3/pc but I have a ps2 that plays imported games and I really want to get the panel to work on all pc/ps2/ps3.
I looked up about converting the ps3/pc version to the MC and its simple all you have to do is replace the chip and solder the wiring and put 4 diodes.
But I need a recommendation…I want this panel to work with all pc/ps2/ps3…what would you suggest?
Once again, it might’ve been said numerous times b4, but, i couldn’t find where…
I’d like to know once and for all, what’s the matter about those said problems with latest ms pads ? I’ve been told that i could’nt make a proper dual mod with the cthulhu board b/c ms pads are not common ground but common line, however, i saw a lot of sticks made with both of 'em and never heard of that kind of matter before… Anyone to enlighten me ?
Does that mean that I must hunt for MC pads instead of ms ones ?
Here’s a bit of an interesting question, every guide I’ve seen has you soldering a cat5 to the Cthulhu for modular cables, but say I was to buy (a second :P) MC Cthulhu that was prebuilt, that already had the USB-B port on the board.
Would it be possible for me to just rig up a USB-B to RJ45 cable, and have that mount to a detachable RJ45, or would there be some form of issue with it.
I understand it’s easy enough to solder the cables, but it’s just an idea.
Doing that wouldn’t provide you with the MC support, and to be able to use the PC/PS3 support you would have to make an RJ45 - USB cable to fit into the jack. If a detatchable cable is your goal, and PC/PS3 function is all you want; then a USB passthrough would be more practical.
You can either try to dual mod with a Playstation pad, or you can get an MC Cthulhu upgrade chip and install a Playstation cord. I personally find the MC Cthulhu easier, but I may be biased.
First, great board Toodles. Easy to work with and great to play with. :clapdos:
I thought I’d toss a suggestion out there to see if anybody else likes it (and if it’s rather easy to implement in an update). To fake a 10-button joystick in Gamecube mode, would it be possible to map 4P to 1K (B), and 4K to 1P (Y), in addition to the existing button config.
This way, the bottom row could be used in games like the Wii SNK collections, and either the left or right six buttons could be used for games like Capcom vs SNK 2.
So I started testing my mc cthulhu (non-premade) and I’ve got some strange issues. I get a Windows warning/error when I plug the board in, saying it might not work. The test facility in WinXP shows it as a Cthulhu, status OK.
All buttons and directions work, except start and home stay pressed when activated for the first time in WinXP test mode.
Anybody have an idea what I might have done wrong? The build of the board is brain-dead simple, and nothing looks out of whack.
I’m having an odd problem with my MC Cthulhu board. When playing a game, the cthulhu will disconnect itself temporarily, as if I unplugged the controller. It reconnects instantly right after though. Thinking it was just a bad cable, I switched it out for a different one I had, but the problem persisted. The stick is dual modded with an Imp, and the 360 side works flawlessly. I was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem, and how you may have fixed it. Thanks
It does it with PS3 and PC. I haven’t tested it on ps2 or gamecube at all yet actually. I’ll try redoing the connections from the imp to the Cthulhu in case that is where the problem is.
EDIT: Seems like there was a bad connection somewhere from the Imp. I don’t know why I didn’t think to try that out before asking.
This is going to sound retarded, and might belong in the noob thread. I have an assembled board, and I didn’t get an imp board. I read throught the boards, and might have skimmed over a tutorial on how to instal this board with just a switch. Also, would I need the switch if I use a separate a to b USB cable?
