yo toodles i wanted to cop a imp and cthulu board from you at evo. are you only bringing the assembled cthulu board? cause if so i’ll just get the imp board.

Imps and assembled cthulhu are coming by the fuckton (which translates to about 3.15 metric butt-tonne’s)
If you need an unassembled cthulhu, speak up and be specific if you need the PS3 or MC version, and whether or not you need any of the accessories (USB jacks or screw terminals) and I’ll set one aside to bring with me and hunt you down there.

Otherwise all I’ll have on me is the fully assembled (with USB jack and screw terminals) boards.

i believe i only need the ps3 unassembled kit, i’m just doing the 2 system mod with a 360 stick.

how come lizardlick doesn’t have imp boards for sale?

so what is the best way to get imp boards along with Cthulu/MC cthulu?

and what is the conclusion on whether or not the Cthulu board works for SFIV PC? (sry all those talking abt the cygwin is confusing)

hehe, I can’t force him to sell them.

gamingnow.net, modchipman.com, and myself all sell them.

Conclusion is that it works just peachy.

thx Toodles for reply

looks like ur price is the lowest :stuck_out_tongue:

since ur at evo, if i order from u, when can u ship it? i am in Westcoast Canada.

Help a scrub out:

My adapter doesn’t work for my PS3 anymore and I’m too impatient and quite honestly pessimistic about the future of adapters and PS3 FW updates so I want to get an MC Cthulhu board.

I need a few questions answered, how does it connect to the PS3? USB or Bluetooth or what?

And what exactly would I be doing getting a disassembled board?

Lastly, do i NEED an MC board to have it work with PS2/3 or can I get awa y with the regular one.

*note using an HRAP2

No way to ask without sounding dumb, but assembling the imp, am I just soldering it with common sense? The capacitor can go in either way and the two chips line up with the little wedges? The instructions on the cthulhu say that the heat of a solder iron can damage the main chip, and I can’t help but think these look remarkably similar to that chip, and without the cradle meant to keep the heat at a distance? Does this require any extra care?

EDIT: There’s a back side to the included sheet with DIRECTIONS? Wow!

Hi all, if this has been answered already just point me to the post number, and I appologize.

I just got my MC Cthulhu and installed it in my TE with an IMP using the RS line, I have added a Playstation controller connection as well, everything “works” IE when I plug it in it works just fine, but PS2 mode has a quirk, The PS2 controller will only work if I plug it in after the game has loaded, if I load up Swap Magic, I will have to re-plug the controller after loading the import game. Is this the normal behavior of the MC Cthulhu, or perhaps did I do something wrong? Other than this everything works fine, and once the PS2 game is running everything is perfect.

It connects via USB, and if you look at one of the diagrams of it you’ll see that you have to solder some chips/capacitors onto the unassembled board, I bought a pre-assembled one that came with a USB jack on it. If you set up your controller with dual pcb’s (your HRAP and the Cthulhu) you will not need the MC, (You’d just have to run a usb cord into your controller, the HRAP connector/pcb would still work)

hi, how can i get in contact with gamingnow.net?
i’ve ordered some stuff there but i never got any reply of shipment or anything.
and i can’t contact them via there site.

Try gamingnow.net’s thread.

thanx, do you have a link.
i can’t really find it or it’s really far in the back.

Hey I’m looking to purchase two cthulhu boards. I currently have a stick with wires, one end soldered to buttons and the other soldered to a ps2 pcb.

If I buy the unassembled version and put it together myself, what other parts do I need to get? I.e. a usb cable? Something to connect the end of the wires into the cthulhu?

Help is much appreciated.

i have a 360 pcb piggybacking on the cthulhu and hooked up to the imp. i think i switched the guide and 2k because everytime i press the 2k button my ps3 tells me that i am using too much power and it wont let me do anything else. i checked the vcc on the 360, cthulhu and imp, and they all read 5.15v.

well i just tried checking the voltage again with it plugged into the pc and i cannot get a voltage reading. does that mean i fried something? nothing felt warm to the touch. maybe if i wait a little while and try it again i can find something.

I’ve run into a problem I can’t seem to resolve. I’ve hooked up a cthulhu and all was functioning properly. I then connected an xbox 360 common ground mad catz arcade stick (the "classic’ one) PCB to my stick as well with 2 USB cables coming out of it (the non-awesome way). Now, in the xbox 360 all the buttons work fine. If i switch over the the cthulhu cable (in a PC) a few of the buttons will show that they are being pressed. If I connect the problem button directly to the Cthulhu the button works normally. As soon as I attach the button to the xbox 360 PCB and the Cthulhu it believes it is constantly depressed. I’m not sure what would be causing the problem when mixing the two wires from the Cthulhu and the 360. I am only plugging in one USB cable at a time.

Any thoughts?

this is exactly my problem (at least it was initially, i’ve tried rewiring and it turns out now the cthullu works and the 360 registers all buttons as pressed), only i am uses a MS 360 wired (late version, common ground). The two boards operate properly independant of each other so i must have done something wrong in connecting them, though i’ve done it exactly how it’s shown in the “2 pcb’s in 1 stick thread” (2 chord method)

perhaps i am not wiring the 5v and gnd to the right point on the cthullu board?

Anyone know the type of diode used in the MC cthulus? I busted one and wanted to replace it. Its the orange-ish one that needs replacing.

Thanks

I’ve got a snag with my MC Cthulhu, perhaps Toodles or someone can help?

We’ve got all the buttons, the joystick, and such wired in, and GC, Xbox, and PS hooked in through one of those triple header cables from the Pelican Universal Arcade stick. Gamecube worked fine, but we’re getting absolutely nothing out of the Playstation 2. We mapped out the wires for the playstation, and they’re all in the right slots on the board for the right pins (Row 1, the right wires in the right holes), so we don’t have any idea what the problem could be. Do you have to hold a specific direction or buttons down to get it to boot in Playstation mode? We haven’t tested the Xbox yet, but I know you have to hold left to boot it up in Xbox mode. Nor did we test the USB on the PC, but the cable was plugged in; I don’t know if that could affect anything.

Have you tried it with the switch and single USB cable?
