For anyone who lives in NY or will be in the area this Sunday, there’s gonna be a horror anime/manga festival at Kinokuniya put on by the New York Comic Con / Anime Festival peeps. FOR FREE! They’ll give the Bleach movie, Ghost Hunt, D. Gray-Man and Boogiepop Phantom, FOR FREE! :lovin:

Don’t know if I’ll go. Depends if I can get out of bed early enough and find others who can do the same…
The free mini-anime festival was a lot of fun. I won some Vampire Hunter D toys FOR FREE and they asked me some questions about anime and J-Pop bands which will air on a radio station in Japan! There will be a podcast of that soon on Samurai Beat Radio’s website so I’ll toss up a link of it and tell you where I talk lol! Had no idea there would be a podcast of it when I spoke so I didn’t shout out SRK or anything lol! Still it was good fun. It really was like a smaller version of an anime convention, just FREE! :lovin:
gotta post my sketches sometime.
This was sent to me by the NY Comic con peeps. I will not be attending since I’m running in a Central Park marathon on the same day. But just in case anyone will be in the area and is interested in some cheap drinks heh -

there’s a small convention in Pittsburgh’s Century III mall this weekend.
I was gonna go, but my car’s fucked.
anyway, the next cons in my area are in September and October.
Sept. is Pittsburgh Comicon (delayed this year). in Monroeville
Oct. is Mid-Ohio Con.
I’ll probably only be able to do one or the other, but I might be able to do both.

Oh and here’s some pics for that Super Paranormal Manga event I attended a few weeks back. I’m there in the crowd. In the first pic I’m the third guy in the third row wearing black pants and a leather jacket heh! My friend Jediwing is in the second to the last pic on the second page. We both entered a raffle and he won some Vampire Hunter D figures, which he gave to me since he didn’t want them lol! Good fun, FOR FREE!
I went to a comic convention once. It was okay but I didn’t really see the point of going back. All you do there is spend a ton of money that you wouldn’t have spent if you didn’t go. Maybe you pick up a poster or some other collector’s item. Maybe if I was more of a collector/speculator I’d care more. I’m not into the whole dressing up in weird costumes either.
I guess if I went I’d finally be able to curse out writers I hate like Millar and Bendis but then I’d just end up getting thrown out.
Forgot to post my original art:
My Impulse Pages
Francis Manapul did this sketch of Threeboot Invisible Kid for me
Ale Garza did this Impulse Sketch for me
This Batman piece was done by David Willis, of the webcomic Shortpacked!
Anole by Art Balthazar (Of Tiny Titans fame)
And this is my Shadowpact page. Inked by Wayne Faucher
i hate each and every one of you that is going to comic con
Yeah you can follow some of the big announcements here -
http://www.newsarama.com/topic/san-diego-comic-con-2009
G4 is gonna cover it tomorrow but they will prolly just focus on movies and TV shows like they always do. Some movies and TV shows that have nothing to do with comics too… :wasted:
Capcom will most likely blog away anything they have con related either during the con or online.
I only hate cosplayers.
Cosplayers are a dangerous and superstitious lot. To bad I gotta do it next year, but when you have a hot fucking girlfriend that likes to sex you up, you really can’t say no. Well you could, but then you’d be stupid…
I plan to get kicked out regardless, find the fattest, ugliest mother fucker I can and send an Jesus Christ powered SRK into his face, since I might go as Cyke.
Baltimore Comic Con Harvey Awards Nominees
Ninja Edit: Uh a bit too much to post so here is the site
fixed :wonder:
I find it amusing that NASCAR Heroes #5 was nominated for Best Single Issue or Story. Really? It’s right up there with Y: The Last MAAAAAAAAN!!!1 #60, Love and Rockets, and Acme Novelty Library? Seriously?
And I honestly do hate all cosplayers. It doesn’t matter how sexy they can be or how good their costume actually is. I’m just not down with cosplay. At all. That’s one of the reasons why I don’t like Halloween, which is just an excuse for otherwise normal citizens to indulge in depravity via cosplay.
Depravity?
the only Cosplayers that bother me are the ones whose body types do not suit the character they’re portraying, and Furries.
I would burn furries alive if I could. When the synthetic fur their suits are made of gets hot enough, it pretty much becomes napalm.
I couldn’t think of any other adjectives so I just used the first one that popped into my mind. My vocabulary’s limited, sue me. AND I USED A COMMA SPLICE
