Come on now man, it was innovative for it’s time but that was almost a decade ago and it’s fucking old now.
I didn’t say COD4 was bad, I didn’t say it lacks fun, I only said that it’s old and plain, which, by comparison is pretty accurate factually.
If you’re still into that fine, but i’d rather be having cybernetic gunfights in a civilization-wide civil war that goes to into the stratosphere/mesosphere.
Once you give me a gun that prints it’s own ammo, and laser canons, and tech that makes my character run super fast always and on walls and jump higher and float/glide, and a sword, and a sentry that microwaves people, and 2-in-1 shotguns, and wrist-mounted and instantly deployable riot shields, and an android that can turn it’s arm into a gatling gun, I’m not going back to a running around slowly with an regular ass assault rifle and, uh, well nothing else really stands out from those games lmao because they were restricted by the settings of modern and olden times.
I reiterate; fuck that, it’s too old and plain for me at this point. It was fine then, not any more.
I revisited COD4 last month and it really was a bit underwhelming. The lack of options was stifling. I’ve logged about a week of playtime into 4, so I’m most definitely a fan.
As someone who was mostly playing Halo 3 during the MW days, I was excited for the remake until I realized it’s not even the full damn game. There’s no way I’m paying $80 for 70% of a game, so I’m hoping that people will be selling their codes/discs for the MW remake. Considering the Legacy edition is $20 more than the standalone, I hope I could scoop it for $30 or so…
You’re implying that efficient use of kill streaks doesn’t require good strategy, and that’s just false. Hell even movement plays into strategy with the wall running flanks and knowing when to slide into a room.
Also fuck off complaining about movement. I’ll be damned if I go back to a slow as jog that only last 3 seconds at a time for getting around.
Exo jumping was a little too wild IMO looking back but BO3 movement is in a nice area.
Exo movement was very erratic. Good twist for about a week. Overall it should have been in another game. Other problem was the weapon variants. That killed AW gun balance. BO3 movement is more fluid and far better. I still want an alternate reality CoD. How much further into the future can they even go? We’re now at space.
I hope that Friday’s announcement in regards to Battlefield will be in regards to a game either going back to WW1 OR it better be Bad Company 3. Fuck CoD.
If cod were to be less futuristic I would want the maps and movements/options to be more realistic. I wanna be able to point my gun around a corner and shoot, shoot while jumping for cover, and blow up walls/buildings to give myself positional advantages.
I actually do think there is room for both the shitty cod and the good one, just release the remastered edition with all the maps not just 10 on its own and I will be good.
True. I don’t know the exact reason we’re getting COD4R, but it very much looks like IW or Activision doesn’t have faith in IWarfare. Even then, they’re screwing up by giving us only 10 maps. This is really a rock and a hard place situation. Unless the new game is fantastic, IW’s rep will plummet here.
