What I hate the most out of deathstreaks is that you keep getting it until you get a kill. They dont keep giving me a predator missile(which I earned) until I get a kill with it, why should you keep getting dead man’s hands?

I had a game on hardhat where I killed a guy with DMH 3 times in a row, each time he red’s out my screen(blast shield saved me), but he inevitably blows me up on me killing him for the 4th time.

It’s seems IW strategy for dealing with things the community hates is by coming up with something worse which makes the old stuff seem balanced. Juggernaut becomes Painkiller, Last Stand becomes Final Stand, Final Stand becomes Dead Man’s Hand.

What pisses me off the most about deathstreaks are how unnecessary they are. From all standpoints. The good player doesn’t need deathstreaks. The bad player isn’t being helped much by deathstreaks. The middling player hates deathstreaks, because they get screwed over by them. And since people all around hate the mechanic, it means that as a developer, you could take it out and replace it with nothing. I bet IW/Treyarch wouldn’t be able to get rid of a magnum pistol without a significant portion of their fanbase bitching.

Yet IW chose to waste valuable time and money on a feature that they wouldn’t dare tout at CODXP. Yeah, we’ve all seen Robert Bowling say there was no more Last Stand on stage. Try to find ANY mention of deathstreaks in that whole presentation though. There is none. My question is: If you won’t even mention a feature in front of a bunch of loyal fans who paid good money to get a sneak peek at the game, what does that say about the feature? I know (and have said) deathstreaks are way less frequent, but I don’t understand wasting considerable resources to bring them back if you know people hate them.

My only problem with the removal of SP was that BO introduced ghost. And MW3 effectively has ghost also. Having assassin pro in the game effectively neuters anyone playing support or running UAV at all (which they made a whole strike package for!!!). It wasnt that big of a deal in MW2 with the inclusion of SP, because you had to pick one or the other. In my opinion you either take out both or include both perks in the same tier…MW2 HAD IT RIGHT.

Oh, and everyone should stop bitching about OP weapons. Tiers happen. Get over it.

Why do I feel like they put things in the game the community hates so that when the next game comes out you will buy that expecting them to fix the issues. And if that one has something annoying you will just buy the next game expecting improvements so they constantly get your money. I hope that isn’t the case, but it is a business.

That’s a crazy conspiracy theory… but it’s making scary sense. If some leaked IW/Treyarch memo said that’s what they were doing, I wouldn’t be surprised at this point.

Assassin>>Ghost

My only problem with Assassin is that it nullifies CUAV and EMP. That’s ridiculous. I’m fine with someone not showing up on radar, but also being immune to CUAV is too much. At least in the past I could pop a CUAV and be quasi stealthy for 30 seconds, but now that isn’t an option.

Thats my exact gripe with perk. Theres just no way in hell it should have that much power. I still question what the hell they were thinking after Ghost the previous year, like you actually made it better? Whatever…they obviously could careless about what the community thinks otherwise we’d have a pretty decent game by now. Apples and oranges though, especially with Call of Duty.

It’s as if they are “listening” to the fans’ gripes and went out of their way to say “FUCK YOU” with the addition of Assassin pro and Dead man’s hand.

It’s the only explanation I can think of because there’s no way anyone could think those were good ideas for replacing Ghost and Last Stand. Ah well…

Maybe they ARE just drug dealers stepping on their product so that we hope we get the real someday.

If MW2 didn’t have the problems it did, it would be the best COD bar none. But then how are you going to top that shit?

I say it’s a sign of the times…look at how much easier many games have gotten over the years. doesn’t help that many of us have been playing video games for years that anything challenging becomes a non issue and we destroy newer players. For that logic came deathstreaks to help the newbies but it’s I honestly think an idea just poorly executed. to open your product up to a larger demographic means you’ll have to accept that your core audience will leave in favor of a bigger general audience.

Look at Mario games and tell me what’s wrong with them. Mario Kart got easier once the Blue shell was introduced now punishing players who were in the lead. Pokemon got easier with moves that PROMOTED luck (whoever played then knew one critical hit could fuck up your perfect gameplan). Look what happened to Smash Bros. they changed shit to make random things like tripping so skillful players cannot always dominate. And don’t get me started on Mario Party (FUCK CHANCE TIME!)

Call of Duty is now part of what I call, Nintendo Balance. Who need’s skill when Luck and poor planning do everything.

You just ruined my day with a flashback to Mario Party. The game caused me to hate my Wii to the point of relegating it to the SD TV in the corner with the PS2/XBox/DC setup. Mario Kart was a waste as well, I bought two peripherals, the game, and then only played that POS twice. Why? Because it sucks to actually be winning. I didn’t mind the blue shell so much in the N64 version - CPU assistance was annoying there, but my goodness it is down right BROKEN in the newer Nintendo titles…its taqkes the fun out of simply being better. If I wan a handicap - especially against the computer, I’ll pic a worse character. If you want to make the game harder - imrpove the AI…but that shit was fucking STUPID. Especially MArio Party…wow.

But I don’t think CoD falls into the same line as Nintendo titles and Midway sports game. Final stand is NOT a blue shell, you donot have to die to marytyrdom. There is nothing absolute about deathstreaks. And for all the complaining about the people ‘using’ them, switch positions - everyone has had the ridiculously bad luck game, where you spawn in someone’s cross hairs, or you spawn right before spawns switch, or your teammates just suck and keep streaks for the other team continuous. Its not a racing game, its a point game - so unlike Mario Kart…where first place is irrelevent to the guy in 6th as they odn’t interact, if I pop up on a team going AGAINST SRK - then…say Reth is going to on me up consistently. Hotobu will tube me into a ful lblown fffuuuuuuuuu rage…so the effect of essential getting a buffer does nothing but that - it gives you a buffer, it doens’t change the tied of battle - in Mario Kart and Mario Party, the person in 8th plaace can turn it around and finish in top 3 on the last lap with just a tiny bit of luck. In CoD though, if I’m on a -5 deathstreak…blowing up is NOT going to put me atop the leaderboards - nor tank you down to the bottom.

I stil ldont’ get the hate for ghost. People act like it was something new :confused: its simply cold blooded…that wasn’t broken in MW2…and having a better option doesn’t make something else less broken.

That is a flat out lie, even in MW2 where commandotubes were everywhere. The best players still used SP regularly.

stopping power was an essential perk in MW2, you are at a disadvantage not using it

I really miss pure barebones, this game would be so much more fun without all the perks, attachments and kill streaks :sad:

I’ve found using extreme conditioning, assassin with dead silience, smg + handgun with knife attachment wrecks havok on free4all. Barely anypne runs with heartbeat monitor and since I spend most of my time indoors I don’t worry about airsupport unless it’s getting too many kills for me to keep up.

No disrespect Unreallystic but Assassin = \ = Cold Blooded. Cold blooded didn’t save you from Counter Uav, EMP, Heartbeat Sensors, Blackbird\Advanced UAV(To be fair this is BO\MW3) but still you get the point. RAGEEEEEEEEEEE lol. At least in Blackops\MW2 if I got a counter uav I could block your UAV and shit so you were without something. But noooooooooooo fuckin IW!

You forgot that it also negates Marksman, and Thermal Scopes.
