The Official Bison Wishlist

I just ask for a way to combo into ultra from the ground. I don’t care if I have to FADC or if it’s conditional (like his 2x j.mp), that alone will make him way more competitive.

Fuck yeah.

hcb teleport motion, crossup dr, crossup skull diver, increased damage and startup on PC, unable to throw out of sk/pc startup

hcb teleport motion would be a godsend

sfiv dash should just get rid of all the fucking chargesupers and chargeultras. we don’t need them, goddammit. i would gladly settle for sfiv bison how he is now with a qcfx2 super/ultra that wouldn’t require any charging and took a bit less damage.

it would be lovely to combo into the super without having to worry that i need a charge for it.
and you ain’t got charge when someone’s jumping at you? qcfx2+fistfuck them with an ultratrip to purple city.

i know most combosetups for the super involves getting your charge ready first through crouching moves, but still, i find chargesupers and chargeultras retarded.

You have remy in your avatar so I can see why you would say this, but no… just no. What they need to do is just get rid of the shortcuts so we don’t accidentally teleport instead of ultra

Agreed. Alot of players seem to think that their particular character has got it really bad in SFIV, but really very few characters in this game are all that difficult to win with if you simply play to their strengths. Shit, I even stumbled across a topic in the Balrog section with players suggesting all of these buffs they’d like to see the Boxer get in SFIV Dash, and I thought “what the hell, do you guys actually believe Balrog neds HELP winning?!” Hell, I play Vega and Guile, and I never feel that handicapped by their design (moreso by my own meager skills). From what I hear the only character that is generally flat out terrible is Rose, but I don’t play her so I wouldn’t really know.

The only thing that bothers me about Bison is how his attacks, specials and supers are counter to the FA system that was added in SF4.

Of course since I suck at FADC this works out well for me, but it seems off that you design this great system and then go and design a character that hardly benefits from it.

nah she’s good too, not bison good, but hey, i’d pick her over guile anyday

Please elaborate, DMystic.

Maybe if her Soul Spark didn’t have such horrible recovery, she would actually be pretty good. Looking at Rose from what I know about her (which isn’t all that much to be honest), she seems pretty solid in my eyes.

Good normals, good anti airs, shamwow power, and the ability to deal with fireball spammers pretty effectively. Again, I don’t really know much about Rose or play with her at all, so I could be completely wrong.

Play Saqs and tell me she isn’t good. She has that Safe soul drill move.Nice normals and if you do know when she ends a block string I feel bad for you.She is a solid B class in my opinion.Alpha she was a beast.

All you people calling Rose and Guile bad characters… they’re really not that bad. They can win, just need the right confident players to use them correctly IMO. Just like how all the jokers came parading into the Bison forums with their disgust for the “bad” character design he is in SFIV… all nonsense. They just take a little more work to accomplish things.

It’s not like you can go pick up Ryu immediately and start pulling out the links Daigo does because the character is high on the imaginary tier list.

When I think about it, it looks like she all the tools to be a good character. I might pick her up.

well, considering that twelve is my main, then i really don’t know why remy is my avatar. can’t be bothered with changing it:rofl:

i still don’t see why we should keep the chargesupers, though…

If you don’t like charging so much, most Dictator’s moves are QCF and HCF like in Marvel vs Capcom 2 except DR and HS.

i think you’re misunderstanding, my fellow bison.

i’m not against charge MOVES, it’s just that i don’t think chargesupers are equally as cool. i don’t wanna do my scissor kicks qcf+k, no, no, no. i like charge specials as they add more to the characters general game than the supers or ultras do, but i would like to do kneepress nightmare and nightmare booster with double quartercircle motions.
having them with quartercircles would make them easier to use in offensive footsies. when i’m on the offence in footsies aka my opponent in the corner and i’m standing a most of the time, it’s pretty hard to get a good charge going as holding backwards creates unwanted space and making it easier for them to get out. and holding downback puts me in a position where they can jump at me. and as bison, i’d rather keep people off me. still, the situation can easily get reset with my opponent back in the corner if i’ve got ex-meter and do EXheadstomp if they jump when i’ve got charge though.
but my point is that it would’ve been great to have the possibility to cancel into the super in these footsies and kick their ass with a little extra damage if i haven’t charged effectively for a while.

but seriously, it isn’t a big problem at all in all honesty. i just came off a lot more negative than i really am regarding the supers, it’s more that i am a little disappointed in the damage output and the setups of the ultra. but my argument regarding footsies really isn’t as valid as i’d want it to be, as i’d rather use my meter to ex-whatever out bad situations if they occur and play smart instead.
i just think it would be handy to have double quartercircle motions.

i still love sf4 bison to death though! i loved playing twelve and getting my ass kicked most of the time, you can imagine how i love bison and actually having a pretty consistent win/loss record:lovin:

so are we cool, mah bison peeps? i wuw u for helping me improve my game:wgrin:

there is a guy I play locally that is absolutely beastly with Rose. Even at EVO, there were some great roses.

EVERY character is good in the hands of the right person, but just not versus everybody else.

I do play him in MvC2. I would just like to see him improved to a point where his moves don’t have huge obvious flaws in them. As of right now, the ONLY relatively safe move he has is lk.SK

HS (even EX) can be stopped by simply punching for most characters (Fuck you Rufus…how do you crouch and punch my glowing feet?), or just moving back, or air throwing. DR is really unsafe against a ton of characters. PC became nothing more than a chip damage weaker teleport. TP is only useful in one or two ways.

Then add to that his complete lack of Ultra setups, and it’s all so glaringly obvious that he needs a tweak.

I’m not saying it needs to be done for SFIV, but for future games featuring Bison, he doesn’t need to be a character entirely based around mindgames.

edit: Oh, and his super should be the exploding fireball from MvC2, instead of a lame double SK+slide. And I still feel his Ultra would look cooler if he did 3 or 4 SK’s at the start instead of 2 (i mean if Ken can have a 17 hit ultra…). Just change the damage scaling. Same damage, just more flashy

It’s simple Bison doesn’t gain anything from the FADC system in SF4.

And Yes I’ve seen people chain a SK combo together by using FADC, however in those fights it didn’t give a noticeable benefit. In one video i saw it was an 11 hit combo that hardly did any damage and didn’t seem worth the use of meter to me.

In another match that I saw, it was blocked and kept up good pressure, but in the same match the bison player was stringing SK together, which was even better pressure.

SO I don’t see any point for Bison to use FADC and to me that’s a huge flaw in the overall design of the character for SF4. Especially since SF4 is the game introducing the FADC mechanic to the Street Fighter series.

agreed. I have never used FADC with the slight possible exception of last minute shenanigans involving SK FADC -> throw. But even that rarely works, and I feel that I would’ve fared the same with just another lk. SK to chip away, or some other bison trick.

The more I play, the more I realize that I would like to see Bison have a two hit normal, like how Ryus forward + FP/MP, or various other characters.
