bison really doesnt need anywhere near as much buffs as the thread creator is saying, IF hes saying he needs them at all (he says at some point- not necassarily ssf4)
What he needs for ssf4, and any future sf implementing a similar fighting system is 2 things-
more ways to juggle into his Ultra. No one is debating that.
A viable anti air option for close in attacks/wake up cross ups. Now bison can teleport, yes- but bison should have something that allows him to be a little more…counter-offencive. Now I know some guy posted a comment about c.HP and how viable it is as anti air…but really…it isnt. OKAY- if your timings down against realitively large characters like gief/sagat, it hits no problem, but standard sized characters/small characters…the hitbox is RUBBISH! Its not so much that anyway…if you look at srk, gens gehriko (sp?), sagats tiger punch, giefs lariat, cammys whatever you call it, etc etc etc they are all very viable anti-air options. Bison really just needs an anti air normal attack similar to Dhalsims (back) h.K
Thats it. Everything else with bison is fine really, hes always been my favourite char in the sf series, and hes still cool in sf4, just needs to be a little more solid at the g1+ levels with those 2 implements…hell…its not like we’re asking for a srk or anything xD
No. NOOOO. Bison is NOT supposed to have a solid anti-air like that. Remember ST? He didn’t have anything like that, but he still did fine. Now, we have EX PC and EX DR, along with teleport, and far st.HK AND j.MP. I would buff the priority of j.MP, but that’s about it as far as anti-air should be buffed.
And honestly? If J.MP was as good as rufus’s j.HK, I wouldn’t care at all about juggling into ultra. Just to have my opponent terrified to jump would be enough for me.
Remember people, bison’s design is supposed to be highly offense oriented. He’s SUPPOSED to have really bad defensive options, balanced out with really good offensive options. If anything, buff his PC for damage, stun, and crossup game, and put bison to bed, and even that isn’t really a NEEDED change per se, just a change that would be nice since normal PC is useless.
I think if they gave him fixed positions rather than going front/behind opponent, it would help him to immensely in defense. Because right now the teleports work like… you go behind or front of the opponent which is useful for when they do something that has a lot of recovery and moves them out of that original position you teleported to.
The faraway teleports go all the way to the back but it doesn’t go past the camera angle. The camera panning plays a big factor, sometimes if you’re getting rushed down and you’re being pushed towards the end of the screen, you can’t escape all the way because the camera doesn’t pan there fast enough so you end up reverse teleporting only like… two inches from your initial position. It’s frustrating sometimes like when you’re being mixed up/rushed down by somebody like Abel.
I think a lot of times it’s just better to backdash, even if you get hit you’re reset on your feet. So yeah, wtb fixed positions for teleport.
What I want and will probably never get is to add a punch to devils reverse such that after the chr down up punch (jump) punch (active attack) you can throw in another punch to reset him into the original position to stop the attack.
For anyone who’s played MvC2, I thought Bison’s projectile looked pretty cool in that game. It has such weird arcs. I think it would be awesome if they found a way to incorporate that projectile into SSF4, although I highly doubt they will.
He definitely doesn’t need a projectile. SFIV’s combat flow is pretty slow and I am sure they won’t give him good recovery on projectile. Do you really want to get punished by half the roster for throwing out projectiles? Most people are either up in M.Bison’s face or far away turtling him out. M.Bison doesn’t need a projectile because he’s not really going to zone anybody out for any reason. Think about that.
for the last time, if u want a projectile, I heard Sagat can throw em.
Bison should not have one UNLESS it was something really fucked (HCB+punch, and it would behave all fucked like his fireball in MvC, and I still DO NOT WANT THAT) or is an Ultra (slightly possible, considering I don’t see what else they could give him as an ultra)
he really doesnt’ need new moves. I can see MAYBE one new move coming his way in the game, but all he REALLY needs is for some of his moves to be fixed (fuck all u pussy’s, Ex HS doesn’t do ENOUGH damage)

I wouldn’t mind them extending the first scissor of the ultra so he could punish sagats projectile like chun.I have no issue with ryu just sagat and guiles recovery is nasty.
I’d like this but how would it work? Lets say you’re slightly right of mid screen. Abel jumps in and you know he’s going to command throw so you’re trying to teleport back. You succeed but since you’re right of mid screen to begin with you’re only a char distance or so behind so Abel can easily punish.
sucks, yes. If you forward ppp you end up directly behind him, so teleport is negated as an option here.
The only way to ‘fix’ this for Bison would be to change his forward triple p to send bison to ‘the camera corner furthest from the opponent’s back’ so that if you’re at the right end of the camera and Abel is in your face, you can forward ppp and end up on the other side of the screen, the furthest camera corner behind Abel, regardless of whether its the map’s corner or not. Is this what you mean?
Look, I understand people not wanting bison to have a projectile because it would be like selling out. I would be annoyed too if they gave him a traditional one like all the shotos.
But if they gave him a really funky projectile, then I would be all for it. His psycho ball could be made to travel at very weird arcs so that it travels over an opponent’s projectile and then smacks the opponent from across the screen, while still giving bison time to block or doge the opponent’s projectile. In order to make this not overpowered, you could give the projectile a long start up time so that bison would have to do a “psychic” prediction of when the opponent is going to throw their projectile.
Nothing like this has been done in the game, and I think it would make it a whole lot more interesting.
Absolutely only through a Ultra or super should he be allowed a projectile…check this concept out. If you connect NMB you keep holding K and he will finish with regular NMB. Then if your hold P when DIC goes for your opponents guts and send him/she in the air…he teleports 2 the ground charging a PS and throws it like Ryu 3s super. But as a juggle so there is room for error. But if it connects the opponennt chould be fully stun when he comes up form knock down or have damaging arura for 3-5 secs after knock down. Ther damaging arura will keep him in purple flames with the count down on top of character like gen super in alpha series, opponent can stop damage arura by hiting you thus stopping furthur damage. what u guys think?
I think his argument is more of the conventional “bison needs full screen teleport”
honestly, i just feel that when Bison first learned to teleport, he showed his fellow Shadaloo employees how using the massive dark energies of Psycho Power, he is able to move an astonishing 3 feet away from where he was standing…and Balrog fell over laughing at him.
I just feel that back + PPP should be full screen, and forward + PPP should be behind opponent, and back + KKK should be half screen, and forward + KKK should be 1-2 character distances away from your opponent
recovery time on it is fine IF THEY FIX THE DISTANCES. If they keep the distances the same (highly likely), at least allow us to either:
a) recover faster…don’t need it to be offensively faster though
b) give us a move that only comes out as we teleport. This would be a great time to throw in Psycho Banish for all those who keep asking for it.

Yeah, Akuma’s teleport moves the camera because of his fixed position. Bison’s goes as far as the camera is moving so it’s not always fullscreen. But yeah… WTB that.
uh, i donno about you guys, but i’d take this one. especially if it was a button that only i could press. very fantastic idea, like the rest of this thread, if i say so myself.
