The 1.06 patch for battlefield 3 coming before Armored Kill. and then for PS3 before 4 September will bring many changes and additions that will improve the gameplay.

Weapons:

G36C will be the Eng gun to use after the patch. It is getting a reduced first shot recoil(which was the biggest problem) and the M4 is getting recoil added because people cry too much.

There aren’t enough vehicles to go around on console but there are too many for 12 slots. You spawn and if the tanks, planes, choppers etc are all being used then you have to hike it and you will probably be the 1 infantry guy in the map on your team. I never said that you don’t run into the enemy so don’t put words in my mouth. You just run into them very rarely and like I said you get games where you get 0 kills with MVP. Yeh its not tantamount to winning its just ridiculously boring when it is like that and you have just walked around a map capturing flags because its you and 1 other guy on the opposite team who are bothering to play for the flags.

Imagine it now on the largest map with Choppers, tanks, planes and an AC-130 over head. People rarely PTFO in vehicles on larger maps so if you are a PTFO players in a 12v12 server as consoles are then its going to get very boring. I know what I’m doing on these maps and PTFO so I don’t need tips about using vehicles to get into the map, my problem is that the maps are too large for 12v12 and the action is very sparse which makes it dull and the main reason for that is because of things like the spawns being about 5 miles away from the actual map (Operation Firestorm for example).

I mainly use the SCAR-H but for close-medium size maps like Bazaar I like to use the G36C as my main gun for that class so I’m looking forward to the buff.

WEAPONS BALANCING

Reload timer adjustments

A number of weapons have had their reload timers adjusted to better fit their animations and gameplay balance. For most of these weapons the gameplay timers were slightly out of sync with the actual reload animation, meaning the player could either fire before the animation was done, or had to wait longer than the animation played. Primarily this is a cosmetic change (around 0.1sec); however for a few weapons (M416, F2000, FAMAS, KH2002, MK3A1, JNG90, MG36 QBU-88, SVD, Pecheneg, SCAR-H, AN-94) this should also improve the performance of the weapon. Damage output/range adjustments

[]UMP: Increased the close range damage of the UMP but reduced its damage over range. The UMP now has a sweet spot in CQB but suffers compared to the PP2000 at longer ranges.

]PP2000: Increased the long range damage of the PP2000 to highlight its role as a mid-range, low recoil PDW.
[]M1911: Increased the minimum damage of the M1911 to make it fit better between the Magnums and the M9/MP443

]M93: Reduced the M93R’s damage and range, as it was an obvious go to pistol compared to the M9/MP443. Its recoil has been reduced for a smoother burst action to counter the reduced damage.
[]12G Frag rounds: These rounds have been adjusted to do their damage in a smaller area but to be more consistently apply the maximum possible damage.

]AA: Slightly increased the damage of the AA against infantry, the AA was simply over nerfed in a previous update. The AA guns now also properly do damage to MBTs again.
[]12 Gauge buckshot close range damage has been slightly increased.

[]Increased bullet velocity for the coaxial HMG, making it easier to hit targets over longer ranges.

A select set of weapons have had their recoil adjusted based on joint community feedback and statistical analysis to provide greater balance in the weapon choices players make. Specifically, the M16A3 and M4A1 have increased recoil to make them less attractive in all situations. Competing weapons like the SG553, G36C and M416 have been improved to also increase viable player choice in primary weapons.

]Increased the fire rate and reload time of the MP412 REX to better highlight the improved CQB performance over the 44 Magnum.
[]Removed burst fire from the L85 and added Single Shot to the L86 as is authentic for these weapons.

VEHICLE RELATED TWEAKS & FIXES

[]Removed flares from gunner position in helicopters. With the right combination of unlocks, an attack helicopter could be effectively invulnerable to lock on missiles. Removing the flares from the gunner balances the attack helicopter against ground fire.

]The Laser Designator unlock on the Scout Helicopters has been changed from a Pilot Upgrade to a new stance in the Copilot seat (position 4). Like the CITV turret on the Main Battle Tanks, the Scout Helicopter’s Laser Designator is permanently available to players who have received the unlock.
[]Repair tool damage against enemy vehicles lowered by 10%.

Overall, these changes should make it somewhat easier to get the ribbon, while increasing the opportunity for strategic play around MCOM stations.

Goatboy: Scar-H is really good, it is as good as some assault rifles for mid range.

They are finally nerfing fucking aircraft after buffing them in every patch and of course people are bitching. It is about fucking time they nerfed that shit.

They are nerfing the Vertical and First shot recoil on the G36C, I think I just jizzed my pants. That rifle will be fucking godlike now.

They still haven’t fucking fixed the countless bugs on OP Metro that let you get above and below the damn maps on A, B and C.

Yeah I was AMAZED DICE had the balls to REMOVE flares from Chopper Gunners AND Buff Stingers o0 The change to Scout Helis is awesome too. SCAR-H is arguably THE BEST long-range Carbine with our without a Heavy Barrel.

Apparently the M16 DOES NOT suffer from Suppression

LAWLZ that alone makes it silly.

Those buffs to the UMP45 and MP5K look neat though.

MP5k still has no range and the worst ADS out of all the PDWs.

of the other big maps, on foot, on console. So spare us the BS. Your complaints are straight up exaggerations.

…and even then, all the flags, (in BF3) have been cluster-fucked together within 10 seconds of each other.

Two biggest happy-faces from the patch notes would be that Recon equipment is no longer invincible to my
helo barrage, and the fact that we can now see that if we are in server browser and only want to play CQ modes
or what have you, it’s now LISTED if the server is suddenly going to change to Rush, so we can now exit before
getting a loss tallied to our stats for not knowing.

Yeah I see people playing it already though, so what is the deal? I also downloaded a huge 1.4 Gig file.

Honestly I think the AC-130 will kill anyone playing Armor Kill. I bet it will be very OP and it will be as dead as quick as the last expansion was.

BTW The post patch M416 is ridiculously good, it might be better then the M16 pre patch.

I’m pretty sure that’s the update. It’s impossible for anybody to be playing it on the 360 today as only PS3 Premium users have it first.

HK416 will still get destroyed by F2000, AEK-971, and the FAMAS up close hell even the M16A3. The patch just made it actually different from the M16.

Telling you man the M416 is a fucking straight laser beam now. It feels like they took a gun out of COD and put it in BF3. Use it, it is fucking ridiculous.

Raffica is damn near worthless now, everyone should just switch to the .44 or Rex. I tried it out for acouple of games and it just does not do anything anymore.

Just use the REX the 44’s RoF got lowered XD

Yeah that was pretty dumb, supposedly it was because the Magnum was supposed to be a medium range pistol. Problem is you can kill people with the Rex in the same range as the Magnum.

I was just now seeing that you can, in all maps, shoot down the ‘Spooky’, ON FOOT. -_- I’m totally
annoyed by it, but somewhat expected of DICE because every fucking DLC that comes out—something
incredibly stupid happens…
