I don’t know if anyone here follows tennis, but you’re missing some serious shit,
Wimbledon is on June 23, Roger Federer has yet to win a Grand Slam this year, but he is shooting for his 6th consecutive Wimbledon, Rafael Nadal looked too strong at the French Open destroying Federer, I fully expect the Federer to come back tho
The womens field looks wide open, since Justine Henin retired, I don’t think there are any clear favorites, anyone could get hot at any moment
lol…sorry had to get in the prince of tennis comments.
im shocked my boy james blake was knocked out of the french open so early. roger has to realize now nadal is coming for him. he’s like the terminator…you can slow him down, but nothing is gonna stop him.
Nadal needs to be more consistent on other surfaces, I don’t think Roger is sweating him just yet, now if Nadal wins Wimbledon, Federer should be shitting bricks
lol federer isnt the feared monster people thought of him just a year ago. goliath got beat by Novak Djokovic. and it kinda tumbled from their…he’s recovered a bit…but the mystic isnt what it once was.
I love Tennis and try to follow it, but the two week tournament format for the slams make it impossible to watch any matches other the ones shown on weekends, and the U.S. Open’s night matches.
In all honesty Nadal is the Number 1 in the world on clay so him winning the french open isn’t surprising (the degree he won by was kinda shocking).
The real question is will anyone else make a surprise at wimbledon?
Or will we get another epic Nadal vs. Federer?
I’ll make an effort to watch the finals. I’m not big on tennis, but in most sports watching a championship match is always interesting. When is this big match going to be on?
nadal always destroys on clay. (maybe not as bad as recently). i think federer will put up a good fight, especially after recognizing that nadal had trained on one of his weaknesses.
how did djokavic do at the french open? and tsonga? i thought those guys were contenders.
I keep up with who is defeating who, but because of the time zone thing, I hardly get a chance to watch the games live on TV. This year’s French Open I always kept tabs on Nadal just to see who he’d be facing in the finals, which I knew would probably be Federer and man on clay, Nadal just owns too much.
At first I thought Federer would pretty much dominate every game he plays all in straight sets in every tournament except for the French Open against Nadal, so I’m surprised to see he tapered off a bit. I was surprised to even see Federer lose against STIFLER aka Roddick in the Miami Masters who he ALWAYS dominates heh.
The women’s side I still like to keep watch on Sharapova w00t.
i think he has a better chance wit that rocket arm as his assist. i can see him in the top 3/4. but in this era he used to be top 2/3…then he’s dropped to like top 5 status.
Federer has his work cut out for him at this year’s Wimbledon. Nadal pushed him to 5 sets last year. This year he hasn’t won a grand slam yet, and Nadal has a lot of confidence going into Wimbledon especially after not dropping a single set in the French Open. I don’t think Federer is going in with a lot of confidence.
Also interesting to note that Nadal beat Federer in a half clay, half grass court last year. Yes it was only an exhibition match… but still kinda neat.
I hope Federer will win the French Open one day, but things are looking gloomy. Especially since Nadal is so young and unless he’s injured, it doesn’t look like Federer will ever win the French while Nadal is in his prime.
