Megaman/Tron vs MSS is a better matchup for you than MSP in my opinion, since Sentinel loves to sit there taking damage as opposed to Psylocke who gets out a little more quickly. MSS-drones will fuck you up, though. I don’t think you gain anything from Psylocke, so don’t know why you’d use her. Maybe try MM/Sakura/Tron if you really want: five levels == Evil Sakura == teleports with Tron == pain. Against most MSx you can sit back and build tons of meter letting them bleed out on Tron plus choice jump busters. But it’s pretty key that your second character be able to crush the planet with that meter, as smarter MSx won’t have gotten hit much. That’s why Cable works well: MSS waits out Megaman and kills him, but then Cable has five meters and will kill Sent off of one whiffed Magnus cLK + Sent-A call.
MegamanSteve plays a bunch of Megaman/Blackheart too: that works really well IMHO. And if you’re feeling really goofy, Megaman-Y/Blackheart-A/Tron-Y with rockball is really unsettling/hard for low tier to deal with.
It’s been done: it’s not nearly as excellent. Any hit with Rogue in Rogue/Tron should be at least 50% with reset options galore. Psylocke isn’t nearly as scary.
I’ve actually played a few matches with him. But unfortunately my internet connection is too shitty to play MvC2 online without significant lag/rollback.
I’m sure he had a nice laugh about how terrible my Storm and Tron are. Haha.
Learn War machine/iron man infinite, cyclops AAA would be cool for connecting it, also charlie has a lot of good options since his special move: up, upforward, forward + kick (dont know the name) has no recovery time, and also he has good grabs into WM AAA, it will do so much damage, check brett123 vids in youtube, he has a bunch about charlie. I think this team can play against other low tier teams, at least most of them, and WM could be ur front man with help from 2 good AAA. U will have problems against storm I feel like u don’t have a solid way to stop her runaway game and sentinel because WM is very slow in air, so if he takes the choose to attack u since full screen range ur AAAs won’t help a lot, and will be very hard to chase him, u may could learn A2G combos but still will be hard to connect it. Charlie is good and he can stop most of the rush down with his standing hk which connects into supers, and his charge down, up+lk which counters many things. For cyclops, I would advice u to learn his infinite but it is very hard, so learn how to surprise rush down chars with his dp+hpxxMOB. As for zoning teams just use WM best air to ground weapon: Smart bombs, u can hit immediately after doin or activate guard, I don’t know a lot about this characters, but I hope this could help u.
Currently my team is Mega Man (Balance) / Cable (Projectile) / Psylocke (AA). I tried Tron but I just didn’t really like how she played.
With my current team, I’m not sure which assist I should use for Cable. I know that his AA assist is pretty good, but I thought it was a bit redundant with Psylocke on the end so I’m using Viper Beam instead. Between Viper Beam and Elec Trap, which is the better assist for Mega Man? Or should I just use Psimitar and have two AA assists? Or should I replace a team member and do something completely different? I need some advice.
You should keep cable on AAA most of the time. That way psyloche has AAA when she is out also… and if she is bleeding/low on life you can still have an AAA. Cable elec trap assist could be pretty good with megaman but mostly I’d stick with anti air.
It would help if u give us some extra information, for example which one is the character that u play best in this team?? Seems like a zoning-keep away team, but psylocke could be a surprise, cause she is a good rush character, for example, so give us some information please.
The idea is general idea is keepaway, yeah. This team is supposed to be Mega Man centered, because I’m a Mega Man fan. My general strategy is try to keep away with Mega Man to build meter, then tag in Cable and unleash the AHVB with my 5 bars. Psylocke is supposed to keep rushdown off of both Cable and Mega Man. When Cable and Mega Man die, I’ll rush with Psylocke if I don’t have the life lead, and then run away once I do. I’m not really good with any of my characters just yet, but I’d like to get good with Mega Man more importantly than anyone else.
Well I’m not a great MM player, but u can check MM forum in character specific section, there must be some stuff there, u r going on the right way for that,
learn lots of resets!! MM cant do a lot of damage him self, so resets will help… There must be a couple of them. Ur team seems to cover principal issues from ur characters, that’s cool, u know: there is synergy… Learn megaman’s infinite!! Psylocke AAA will help u to start it. I don’t remember inputs, but in youtube u can find some vids.
Psylocke is a great char as assist and as point char, cause of her psy blade, she can fight one on one vs any char, even the top 4, may be u will have a hard time when fighting sentinel (almost everyone has it), but if u r patient u can handle this.
Cable is not hard to play, just learn to guard correctly, I mean when mag drops all his rage into u, avoid resets and learn to do multiple AHVB (seems like u already know how to do it, but it was just telling). I don’t know what else I can say, but I u have a question let us know and there is a lot of people who will show stuff that, by far, will be better than this.
Saw his game on sale at the PSN store for $5 and decided to pick it up. I used to play MvC2 on DC and PS2 back in the day. I SUCK VERY BADLY AT THIS GAME. NOT JOKING.
With that out of the way, I used to play Rogue and Psylocke and whoever else, mostly Cable. Obviously, this team is probably horrible. I just picked them because I like them all.
I have been doing some reading here on the MVC2 boards and I was thinking about leading with Rogue, placing Storm 2nd since she can runaway better than cable and is just better overall, and Cyclops on anchor.

Mostly looking for a Rogue team I can have fun with. I read in the Wiki that “team scrub” was cable/sent/capcom and that it is an ideal team for peopel new to the game. (I played a few matches and was repeatedly hit by some dudes magneto infinite I wasn’t expecting anything less than that to happen so it’s all good I’m not salty about it. I was thinking about substituting Rogue for one of the spots on that team if that would even work.
finally, I keep hearing that tron is great for learning new characters because of her assist and that she also happens to work well with Rogue. The thing is, I don’t want to play tron. Barring tron, what other team formation should I be looking out for to build something around rogue? So far I really like the idea of R/S/C. Storm and cyclops are both good characters.
I am just worried about storm though because I can’t do infinities with her so I’ll be playing a runaway/chip game, essentially the same way I play cable. Am I better off just playing cable if I am going to play storm that way?
