Team Japan, could someone elaborate on this team, or why the japanese use it, sounds interesting
storm/iron man/cable
a cheap and gay team. lightning storm can DHC to proton cannon, iron man has the easiest infinite in the game, and cable has AHVB, which is why japan used that team.
i used to do chun/storm/psy. chun AAA is great for doing hail (possibly double hail combos).
psy can set up a lot of infs/combos/resets with chun if you know chun’s advanced combos (from shin’s 2 chunli vids)
tron is decent too especially if you can only do her ground infinites which are easier.
Is there a thread that breaks down Team Z or explains some tricks/resets with this team?

hey everyone wanted to know if there is anyone who is looking to help players out. im on psn. ive had the game for a while now and still looking to improve my game. I would like to start playing online but usually get murderd in 2 sec. just looking for input on do’s and dont of my game. i dont us a fight stick but looking to invest in one soon but know i need to learn the game first befor anything. my team i us is sakura akuma sent or sprial.
You have to understand the game’s mechanics and combo concepts well enough already… that when you watch a vid you are mostly sure you already know how to do it. Just check out joo’s videos… he hits the various parts of the game’s engine in extreme detail… and then you can watch combo vids and understand how they are doing stuff.
Should I drop rogue/storm/chun in favor of team matrix, till I learn more about this game and use the first one as a low tier team?

what’s good with venom? ive been running venom/sent/doom, but really all i do is venom fang with rocks or drones, mash his web throw, or walk up throw>launch>magic series ending in hk>land jump lk hk
Everybody, I need your expertise on something. Lately I’ve been thinking of getting Marvel 2 (I’m a big fan of Marvel 3, and this one has Mega Man in it) but I can’t enjoy a fighting game unless I can play as characters that I like and still have a chance of winning. For Marvel 2, I was thinking of a team such as Mega Man/Tron/Psylocke or something. I already know that this team isn’t optimal. Mega Man isn’t that great and Tron and Psylocke, despite having great assists, aren’t Mega Man’s best assists. However, would it still be possible to win? Or am I just going to get murdered by MSS/MSP every single game?
Megaman has a good match up vs Magneto and storm - his jumping Hp does 20 points of damage (average life is 143 points IIRC). He loses bad to Cable, spiral, sentinel and strider. Preppy use Megaman / Cable / tron - alot of vids on his site www.zachd.com/mvc2
Would you get murdered - yeah, depending on who you play.
This is all IIRC (and it’s been awhile), but according to Preppy himself, Mega Man can win against Magneto if MM plays a proper Rock Ball zoning game and utilizes his priority (apparently, he can keep up with Mags priority-wise).
What about Tron and Psylocke? Can I play with them, or is it absolutely necessary to play Cable, Blackheart or Sentinel?
Preppy’s team is MM-Y/Cable-B/Tron-Y. You can see some play of it here in the finals of an online MvC2 tourney I held way back. The Cable/Tron shell works with any character (in theory), so you could go with Team Preppy if you want to stay competitively viable. Just learn how to guard break and you’re good LOL!
Blackheart-AAA is one of MM’s best assists just because it lets him control so much space in conjunction with Rock Balls. EVIL CAP AMERICA of the OSMBV uses MM-Proj/Blackheart-AAA/Cyke-AAA. You could try to work Psylocke in there (instead of Cyke) and see if you can capitalize off of her AAA assist.
Sent Drones is great for rushdown and it’s a useful assist without being too dependable like Doom Rocks and Tron-Y. He’d be a great 3rd slot/assist character; I feel he wouldn’t work too well with MM and Psylocke’s assists.
But honestly, I think you can make Mega Man, Tron, and Psylocke work. The order and assists I would use are as follows:
Mega Man (Balance)
Psylocke (AAA)
Tron (Projectile)
MM’s Balance and Projectile assists are the same, but the Alpha Counter is different. Balance does his SRK special as an AC, which comes out faster and is more likely to beat other attacks.
Thanks for the replies, guys. If I end up getting this game (still undecided) I’ll try MM/Psylocke/Tron, and if I can’t get that to work I’ll look at picking up Blackheart or Cable.
