Use hulk as the middle character. Gives you really solid DHC into kill. If you setup like this… you can work your normal game while staying rdy to super an assist… then DHC to gamma crush.
For hulk double crushes its all about doom if you want it easy. Any hulk ground combo while calling doom AAA, gamma charge xx gamma crush. Super easy. Also when you go hulk on point… just stay safe and be ready to gamma crush an assist that pops in… then DHC out to something else. Gamma crush should DHC to omega destroyer just fine.
For DHCing out of gamma crush omega destroyer should tack on a lot of dmg to the already gamma crushed assist… and tho its not totally safe on recovery… its safer than gamma crush is on recovery… so…
i honestly don’t play a lot of OR tho… so its use as a punisher outside of this particular situation… im sorta fuzzy on…
Its safe if you connect with it cleanly but they can fall out of it if you dont. In my mind unless you have 5 bars its not worth the payoff for it to lose a super bar to punish the assist. A cr. HK from a distance is a safer move IMO just make sure the opponent is not keying on it and you will be good.
i have a team of IM (aa assist)/cyclops (projectile assist)/ and CapCom (aa assist). im really really new to this game and i just picked those characters together as i seemed to like them and thats about it. i was wondering if i should alter this team in anyway i’d like to keep IM hes really fun to me and the other 2 are expendable but if capcom assist is good with this team that would be cool too.
That’s a fairly solid team for you to have just picked out of a hat…lol Switch cyclops to AAA if you want to stick with him. Capcom AAA is effective with pretty much anyone. IM will be your biggest challenge in terms of learning curve. Practice mode + infinite setups + more practice mode…
i can see the challenge in IM already but i will def. keep at it i am really new to the speed of this game and i doubt ill ever be good as my reaction time is shit but ill def. give it a shot too fun not to play lol. thanks for ur help also.
Don’t get to caught up in the pace. There are combos that only work if done max speed… but there are 10 times more that only work with properly timed hits. IM is one of the best examples. Many many of his best combos need proper… one might even say sorta slow… inputs.
Any hey… don’t say you’ll never be good b/c of reaction time… this is a game that suits a lot of play styles… if you suck at reacting… pick a team that likes to push the action and control the pace… that and the fact the your reaction time does improve as you become more comfortable with the game… and have a better ability to predict your opp.
I been keeping up with MvC2 scene for a while, but now i want to get into it. I want to make a team using any of these characters Morrigan/Jill/Gambit/Ken/Strider (Morrigan being kept no matter what, im up to replacing the other characters)
I just wanna know what characters and assists, that’s all.
morriganAAA/any of those/kenAAA could be a fairly solid low tier squad. Morrigan has the all the moves you need… just not a lot of room for error with her stamina. ken AAA is broke as always and he can do ok without a lot of help if he has to come in last.
For the middle person your decision could be made on a lot of stuff… the THC you get… the DHC possibilities… another good assist… someone to pick up the slack if your morrigan is lacking a bit… lots of roles for that middleman… just play around and see what you get.
Having Morrigan in second slot gives you a beastly punish DHC with Soul Eraser off of something with fast start up, and since it’s a bunch of little hits it’s good at the end of combos, and it’s like iron man’s proton cannon with excellent/0 start up after a DHC.
Gambit projectile/Morrigan Projectile/ Ken AAA. I picked this team of Gambit/Morrigan/Sonson and it was awesome. The same thing applies, except no super awesomeness from son son.
After a royal flash connects mid screen, DHC into Soul eraser for the kill. Soul eraser does 70 damage midscreen and a comboed royal flash with morrigan projectile is about 70, so alot of damage.
Might as well get into top tier play. Anyway, the question is what are good teams to get the 5 character above to a whole new level? (Don’t say Clockwork) Are any of these teams decent training teams?
IM/strider has some nasty stuff… stider’s variety assist is perfect for setting up a rejump infinite…
just jump or air dash over their head while call him…
strider on point can do call IM AAA, s.fk or s.fp, XX orbs… then jump up and catch them in an orb juggle ending in launch yada… easy 75ish dmg for 1 bar…
stider/IM/doom could be fairly beastly i imagine.
rogue and strider should have a DHC semi-infinite… rogue df+pp super… DHC to orbs when she gets to the top of the screen… jump up and catch them in an orb juggle as they fall down… land and switch to rogue… she’ll get the switch in hit… pause… df+pp super… yada… lots of hits… lots of bars…
I remember asking for hwlp here once before, and I’m back again! I’ve been doing…reasonably well with my two teams so far (Cammy AA/Mega Man Proj/Psylocke AA, and Felicia Ground/Mega Man Proj/Jin AA), but I was wondering if there was any advice I could get regarding those two teams? I have some troubles with being predictably over-aggressive with the first team, and the second one gets me prone to having my assists killed from overuse (which I’m working on).
I also wanted to know of any good teammates for Guile, who I’m practicing with, as well as the following characters that I’m kinda in love with now: Gambit, Jill, Bone Wolverine, and Venom.
Well, Cammy is overly aggresive in MVC2. You have to rush with her. So don’t feel bad. With the first team, you have to kill your opponent as quick as you can. Hit them hard and make them cry. Now its hard to get chars out with this team, so i would put MM first, to build meter and have 2 good assist at your side to runaway with. After you get decent meter (4 bars), get cammy out safely. Then go to work.
The second team should be MM first too. That way you can protect Jin and Felicia when you do assist. This team has a great way to get a Char in. DHC into Felicia’s Sand hyper. The only assist you should spam to trap is Felicia’s sand splash assist. If you go against Cable, you are safe, if you go against Storm, you are safe, Magnus, safe. The only one I would worry about is Sentinel, because MM fierce wont break his hyper armor.

BH/Ruby/Doom (if this team is really good, Im copyrighting this MF’er lol).
I kinda had the urge to play with Ruby all of a sudden lol.
All look like pretty solid team possibilities. The spiral squad I’d switch cyke for doom. Both spiral and ruby can make a living just forcing you to block doom rocks all day for chip… plus spiral as point needs no real AAA as she can call near any assist while teleporting and not only be safe… but maybe get a mixup opening while at it.
The BH squad has a lot of chip potential and space control but looks like it’s gonna end up vulnerable to quick air dashes or teleports… since neither of its AAA’s come out instantly… they won’t help much against the rogues, magni, storms, spirals, striders, ects…
So I have been running that Gambit/Ken/Morrigan team, Gambit is slacking the most in this team for me…any recommendations? I tried switching him with Cyclops and did a little better leading with Morrigan.
Dont recommend me Sentinel, Cable or Iceman haha
If anything ill try a new team for when i slack with my current one, what can be a good team out of Jill, Psylocke, Cyclops, Morrigan and Ken?
