The Official and Only Team Helping Thread

Here is my current team of choice:

Cammy (AA)
Ken (Expansion)
Guile (AA)

In that order. I’d like to keep Cammy if possible, but I’m open for anything.

I think I’d use ken as AAA. Cammy doesn’t need that much help comboing… and ken AAA is better than it should be.

Seconded. I’d run Guile/Cammy/Ken, in that order. Guile’s got a strong and versatile point game, and having two invincible-startup AA backing him will make it easier to cut through Sent BS and some of Cable’s stunts. Plus, trip or dash-in HP into super will easily chain to Cammy KBA and what happens then? You have a different point character with two good AA assists…

^ Thanks for the tips, guys. I changed my order, practiced as Guile in Training Mode (never knew he could pull off a full magic series aerial rave), went online, and my game got much better. I don’t know how I ever lived without Ken’s AAA! Just a few questions:

  • When you say “trip”, do you mean Guile’s c.lk?

  • As far as how to play each of my characters individually and the team as a whole, should I go to their specific forums for advice, or would it be better discussed here (I’m new to SRK)?

Guile’s trip is cr. HK. For some reason, his sonic boom super picks enemies up off the ground, so it will chain if they don’t roll out.

As for the character advice, just click on a character’s name, and where it says ‘show threads’ hit the drop down menu and select from Beginning. Everything you need to know is there.

actually, the second kick in the cr.hk picks people up, and then you can juggle.

but the 2nd kick is rollable.

rush standing HP is MUCH better. his HPs (his everything) has mad good priority.

Trying to figure out a team for the next round of the PSN low tier tourney. I really like how cammy and silver samurai work together, with either out front, but I normally have tron on the team for the big damage and she is banned. So without any of the top chars who would help this team out.

So far I have tried iceman on point to chip and build meter, but it didn’t work out the way I wanted it to. I also tried ruby heart and really enjoyed playing her, but I just couldn’t make her gameplay come together. I think I will be giving her more work, but I want to know what other options would be good, and you guys probably have a lot of better ideas for teams than me.

Who else is banned besides the god tier? I don’t play on psn, but I’m interested all the same.

I would suggest BBHood. She’s quite good at meter building, has a useful projectile assist and a good DHC.

in that oder should i change my line up?or assist?
i usualy do great starting with camando but then it usualy goes to crap after that

Reverse the order completely. Unless you’re playing a round for fun with a friend or getting really bored, Commando should be in the anchor slot, as he is probably your best line of defense against rush down/Blackheart/Spiral/Strider. Also, if things tend to go downhill after you lose Commando, practice your Sentinel game, especially fly/unfly tactics, and go into training and practice a bit with Cyclops solo, as in without assists. He has a fantastic solo/meter building game and you’d be surprised how often he ends up being the last man standing on your side (Sent starts match, Capcom gets snapped in, etc.). Definitely practice wake up Gene Splice–> SOB.
Once you feel more confident playing each of these three, with or without assists to aid them, your odds will increase significantly. This is both a fun and powerful team

I agree with everything shifty bat said EXCEPT for the reversing the order completely part. IMHO I don’t think you need to do that. CapCom backed with drones and an invincible anti-air can hold his own against anybody. CapCom last in the line up leaves good possibility to him being by his self at the end of the match where he’ll be less effectively. It’d be better to have a solo Cyclops.

This is why I’d advise you to change your order to CapCom/Sent/Cyc rather than Sent/Cyc/Cap. This way you’ll have a powerful DHC into HSF should you ever combo into Captain sword (whether solo CapCom or from a cyc-b picking you’re opponent off). Plus, this gives you fairly safe DHC out from CapCom. At this point you’ll have Sent with two great antiairs so that you can continue to control the match and allow a bleeding assist to get its life back. You’ll also have another fairly safe DHC out again should you need it. I believe this to the the most functional way to play this team.

yes, BHking is right, capcom even with just drones backing him up can be annoying. it’s like bah! why’d I even snap you in!? urrrgggh.

with cyc antiair, he will be all powahful

Need help with my Guile/Zangief/??? team.

What assists do you have them set to and what kind of goal do you want to the team? Bringing out the best of Guile?

I hope Guile’s on AA assist, and as for Gief, his assists seem to apply to different playtypes for who’s on point. Gief cannot get in on certain run away or keep away characters at all, and is simply too slow to function on point against certain folks, so having assists that let him actually move would be good if there are any people can recommend.

Guile is on AA and Z is on ground. I really not sure who should be my third. Guile and Z have a decent combo where I can DHC into spinning pile driver, and vice versa. There was a time where cable was in the team but he didnt fit well for me, just because a use of meter just like Z is.

i usually start with capcom then assist cyclops then do capstorm then crouch lk coridor capsword then DHC to MOB etc…

Help for Magneto/Strom/Tron?

Right now I basically just abuse the Tron assist, and tri-jump and slide around with Magneto. I’d like to diversify my tactics, suggestions?

I play mag / tron a lot for the damaging resets. IMO it i just too damn easy for Magneto to run into something and get killed, so I want to take out the other team as fast a possible. One of the easiest things to do is:

mag: c.lk + call tron, c.lk, tri-jump, sj.hk, dash in, c.lk, c.hp, magic series, hyper grav xx tempest

from there DHC into storm and they should be dead. (I usually play Mag/ Sent/ Tron btw)

However, I find that you want to get the reset into Tron’s assist more than anything, so I will usually do the ROM infinite and then land + call Tron, then tri-jump over or dash under to attack and push them into Tron’s assist.

If you call Tron and jump over them and hit with a sj.hk, you can cancel into a tempest and it will connect…if that lands they are pretty much dead.
