The Official 3rd Strike Match Vids Thread

new 3 on 3 ranbat (not the ack one)

^thanks!

I believe in that video Akuma failed to teleport out of an aegis? As easy as it sounds, its a MASSIVE risk. A reversal timed teleport can go wrong very often - even happened there in a jap vid  And when it goes wrong - Urien is VERY happy. I personally find teleporting out of unblockables very hard - not the same as normal aegis setups, or maybe its a mental block. The teleport itself is somewhat random when it comes to the execution - for some reason the engine is not as lenient with a minor error in pressing buttons at the same time as it is with EX moves. For example if someone tries 10 EX dragons in a row and gets 8 of them, I bet that same person would get less teleports instead of normal dragons or flips. Sometimes I eat an aegis yet you can see ‘Reversal’ pop up on my side of the screen - yep it was a dragon

I still want to try doing a demon out of unblockable like Jiro did in co-op cup 4, but can’t think of a way to record the dummy. Help anyone? I thought of throw, headbutt over, but I don’t think its really the same because that way I don’t get much time after the super freeze, but with the conventional setup you get some time between waking up and the super freeze.

I’ll admit when I have to face a Urien I’m not too worried, but I’m not exactly confident either. I’m only confident when facing characters like Hugo, Q, Necro, Ryu and Alex.

what about parry then teleport ?

Parry then teleport is very easy in itself but the risk factor is higher because Urien usually sticks out a poke to break your defence in case you tried blocking the aegis. For example - Parry low - I parried the aegis low but Urien went for UOH. By trying the teleport straight away, I got one of those lucky parries on the UOH, but that deducted itself from the teleport command so I ended up eating the aegis afterall.

I think statistically, two parries then a teleport would be safest. Which just brings us back to the original guessing games of Aegis again

Just watched the first match. Please don’t hit me on the head, but I wanna learn Chun Li after seeing that first player. Who was it??? And Zangoef raping as usual

Could anyone put down the player names since I can’t recognise most of them.

I’m thinkin the Chun Li player may be Raoh by looking at the kanji but not sure. I can’t read kanji though so it’s likely somebody else.

I’ll put some player names down after I torrent it. Right now, according to the bracket, I don’t think Raoh’s in this one. I could be wrong though.

EDIT: What I can do for now =

Yakkun[YU]/Take[RE]/****Rikimaru?[CH] <-- the beefy Chun
Tarui[KE]/Kokujin[DU]/Zangoef[AL]
Kin[DU]/Iemon[UR]/Piyonkitsu[KE] <-- not too sure
???[DU]/Uni[NE]/???[YA]

the style looks like MOV’s chun li. I haven’t seen any other chun just red parry ken’s second hit of SAIII for fun like him, and has really funky lightning kick setups (cr.short lightning kicks). And he’s played blue color chun before, so i think its’ MOV

Yeah…but I think MOV uses a different color and when MOV fights they always use the letters MOV. I don’t think they ever use kanji for his name. Just like how they never use kanji for KO’s or KSK’s name.

Yeah…it’s definitely not Raoh.

I have broken your spirit via akuma, yesssss!

Yes, Jesse’s akuma is pretty amazing. But I don’t know if it’s as amazing as the mexican/fobby asian akuma’s. Throw air fireballs & fireballs all day, and when you jump in SAIII super. Shit’s too TOP TIER.

^

I rape you in Tekken for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEeeee. Not that you even play Tekken though…

Last one 20070106, must be the Ack one.

Judging from the shouting, I think the Chun Li player is called Rikimaru - isn’t that the Ninja from Tenchu? Even crappy ninjas are learning Chun

that blue chun was serious!

totally outclassed everyone in the first matches.

Ack, Ruu and Boss were just amazing to watch in this one

You are correct. The chun was rikimaru.

stealth assasin?
