The Official 3rd Strike Match Vids Thread

Good shit

shoryuken!

my question is, if that ryu made it to quarter finals, what the hell kind of scrubs did he beat along the way?

He must’ve gotten a shitload of byes

Yeah…I can’t totally understand his reasoning for the umpteen shoryukens but I guess he was just afraid of the POWA!! I think this is just a good example of some of the matches you don’t see very often. Where someone just has a complete mind control over the other person.

not even the shoryus, did anyone see those random ass parry attempts? lol

sandbag is the only logic to that.

i dont remember drop sucking THAT bad.

maybe he had to leave and it would be DISHONORABLE to not fight!!!

Very weird indeed… I remember watching Drop before, and he beat a Chun player called Futomomo using SA II. He played really solid that time. I’m really surprised to see him suck like he did.

I havent seen these matches yet, but judging from how everyone is talking about that Ryu player - I’m sure these matches are quite old right? I remember watching a Japanese Ryu once that was landing random shoryus all over the place, and I think there was a random Shinshoryu in there as well right?

If these matches are recent, feel free to slap me.

I’m pretty sure they’re new. The videos are listed as 2007 and the link for the vids have the date of 12/02/2007 in them. This has to be some new scrubbage.

I thought the match was real refreshing. Not very often you see Japanese matches where someone’s play is so off. I mean granted it is 3S but anything can happen in one match but…to not even get more than a failed 2 hit combo on Yun is pretty embarrassing.

Even jap players have bad days O_o
Yeah those srk and low parry attempts were too much but the point i can’t really understand is why he used EX srk after succesfully parrying yun cMK into genei [and he was that far too], cMKxxEXhadoken could’ve saved his ass.

wow, reminds me of how i used to play…

…the dude didn’t land any shoryu, and didn’t even get full bar…

LEVA - you would understand that better if you came to Japan - players over there seem to pay MUCH MORE attention to zoning and baiting as opposed to combos and punishment. They look out for openings and when they get them they just slam the machine with whatever they have. Most of the random Ken players I faced never combo’d me - it was always plain srk or shippu for punishment.

Let me rephrase this : even japan has bad players.

Who’s the red dudley? he did a couple nice things… i love the walk back forward sweep, cause it faints the f.fwd, kinda dirty

shoryuken!!!

that ryu is awesome

it really seemed like he was playing that way on purpose, he did shoryus even when yun wasn’t in range

…and i’ve seen drop do ALOT better… maybe he was drunk or something

I don’t think it’s safe to assume by just a video that he’s a bad player. Especially when other people reported him doing very well in other videos. It’s not like that’s his ultimate strategy that just happens to never work. I mean…I guess it’s up to opinion but it’s not like in the US where u can just look at any scub video and tell how terrible someone is. It’s not like they’re playing for money in those tourneys. If you just decide not to care or are all whacked out on drugs or something…

Lol I just watched that match.

HAHAAAAA!!! I best thats what the crowd was doing as well   That ex shoryu would have connected if yun didnt cancel that low mk btw…

I was just saying that because some people tend to think that all the japanese players are good, not necessarily to judge the player. Maybe he was just messing around, maybe he just plain sucks.
