Enjoy!
Well those links are back up for the Aiku vs Rikimaru matches if you want your own videos, i’m putting them up now but Billy’s on the ball anyway
You rock! :china::rock:
aiku is very good. i cant believe ppl are nitpicking because he doesnt throw the rose every time lol, i dont either. especially against chun-li, who can usually just jab you out of your f+rh.
ty billy kane u are the best.
p.s. i want a dadorey avatar.
Not nitpicking, just saying it seemed strange to watch vids of a Dudley who didn’t always throw out the rose.
yeah he’s good. shit, any dudley that beat a chun 9-1 (or was it 8-2?) is godly.
but what i meant was that when he threw the rose, it always whiffed; it never hit the opponent on wakeup.
jesus christ aiku ran over rikimaru not to mention that riki’s chun is mad sick…
Wow Akiu really is a serious challenger to the title of Kokujin’s successor. To pwn a world class Chun Li like that takes some serious skill.
Throwing the rose… it is strange he never throws it as a meaty. It’s true that sometimes as Dudley player it can be beneficial to throw it not as a meaty as if you condition the opponent to expect that, you can play some mind games by varying the timing, but yeah it’s weird.
BTW has Aiku qualified for SBO, what team is he on?
Oh and Ouch @ double P in the second game though
[Kashi (KE), Aiku (DU), Pierrot (RE)]
- from Jack’s thread
can you elaborate?
@ cod, thanks for the info. Wow that is a nice team.
@ Sex)packets. Let’s take Ken as an example. If I throw a meaty rose, he can EX SRK through the rose and through me. So if I throw the rose just a little bit earlier, he might try to EX SRK through, and I can either block or parry the SRK and then combo him on his landing. Techincally because I didn’t throw the rose as a meaty, he could get out of the corner by jumping out, but as he expected itmeaty, he didn’t try to. Or I can throw the rose so that it gives me enough time to walk up and hit the opponent from far away, and as I walk up to the opponent, the character is hit by the rose, meaning that they are in block / parry stance as I make my approach.
But generally, it’s much better to throw the rose as a meaty.
I don’t play as Chun often but wouldn’t c.Strong be good to steal some damage from Dudley? The guy was spamming s.Strong and s.Roundhouse for pete’s sake… And in round 6 when he was spamming c.Roundhouse and Chun had the meter, would timing a super after a Dudley c.Roundhouse work? :xeye: Riki must’ve been under some huge pressure 'cause he missed 2-3 supers and timed anti-air soooo bad… If not for those I think he could’ve done better than 1 win…
If you time the rose meaty on Chun and do t.HK as soon as possible, she can block the rose, and still jab you out in time? I find that hard to believe. I’m sure if she parries, but even on block?
Considering you can throw the rose meaty and still be 100% safe vs any reversal, I don’t see any reason to NOT throw the rose meaty as opposed to the way Aiku was throwing it (immediately after the super). The only real options you lose are meaty c.HK, and possibly meaty t.HK depending on just how meaty you throw the rose.
This isn’t the Dudley forum so I wont go into my thoughts about why losing the option to meaty c.HK in this situation is somewhat meaningless. However, I will say that I think that loss, and even the potential loss of meaty t.HK is pretty heavily outweighed by the fact that the rose hits meaty, which serves a lot of purposes.
EDIT:
Man, I thought the whole rose thing was pretty straight forward, but everyone seems to have a different view then me. Maybe we need a thread in the Dudley forum just about rose technique?
Anyway, I don’t really like your example personally, because I would go about it totally different. To me, there are really two effective ways to throw the rose (specifically, against a character with a good reversal like Ken), both of which are meaty.
First, you can throw the rose so it hits while it’s still high in the air, about shoulder height. Downside to this is that you wont recover before they wakeup, so you’re vulnerable to reversals. The interesting thing is, this timing is actually really safe, regardless of that, because if they do reversal, the rose is high enough, that it will still be active (falling) by the time their invincibility wears off, and hit them out of their move. Obviously this wont work on supers that have stupid long invincibility, like Q SA1 or something.
The problem is, even though it’s safe against getting hit by the entire reversal, you still get hit by the first hit or two, which at best is going to be a trade easily in their favor, and at worst, will be a trade in their favor that also knocks you down (like against Ryu’s DP – wouldn’t use this much against him).
The second way to time it, is to time is super meaty where the rose is just barely off the ground when they get up. With this timing, if they reversal, you’ll have already recovered and can block, but the rose will hit the ground before their invincibility wears off, so it wont hit them out of the move (which is probably better for you anyway for punishing purposes). This is how I throw my rose 90% of the time.
I think the fact that you can bait out reversals by using the late timing heavily outweighs the fact that you lose the ability to time some normals meaty.
Chun c.MP is super good against Dudley. Goes under everything, and I mean everything. Timed against a SA3, she will actually go under the first few hits and hit him out of it (total bullshit). Honestly, I always wondered why more Chuns don’t abuse this against Dudley also, especially before she has meter. Then again, I never said anything because the last thing I want to do is help Chun.
Thought so =\ I was almost crying Riki didn’t c.Strong once the entire time, it’s got incredible range and goes under so much stuff T.T; What about the timing SA2 on Dudley c.Roundhouse spam?
Lol I do it all the time. It’s funny watching my friend that plays Dudley get frustrated when I poke him with it.
its good, but a couple weaknesses. up close, u can sa3 it hit/block(not even reversal). and if its parried, you cant cancel into anything, free c.rh for dudley.
I think at max range even if it’s parried you may be safe T.T; Not sure =\
Now that’s a team I’m looking forward to watching. Aiku and Pierrot are both very fun to watch.
you most definitely aren’t. you are negative at least 3 frames on BLOCK, let alone parry. Ken can reversal shippu you.
