I kinda get the hate for the call he made to take the FG but I actually like the move. You need 8 points not 7. Your essentially taking a higher percent shot at the 2 point conversion first and its for 3 so a TD now wins the game and not just ties at best with a 2 point convertion.
The Pack D had been snuffing the run well and with all time-outs if you get the 3 and out then you got Rodgers who only needs to get a TD and only a TD with more than enough time to work with. Plus what if Mickens muffed the kick off in some way or do what he did and gets down before the 2 min mark preserving a timeout?.
I’m sure that was his logic, but that’s betting against the most decorated QB in the history of the NFL. If you’re in a position to score and Aaron Rodgers is your QB, seems like the better call would be to try to get the tie. If you fail, they start at your end of the field.
Honestly I’d put the blame on Rodgers too on that 3rd and goal. He had room to run with a chance to score. If not then they’d be at like the 3 or even closer. Makes it a more manageable 4th and goal. Instead he tried to force it to Adams… again.
It is a little bit of everyone, Rodgers and crew had opportunity to score even before then. But LaFleur definitely dropped the ball at the end when you had the game on the line.
I keep getting all these messages from people being like the Bucs got this and I seem to be the only one who realizes the 15 lead ISN’T enough. This is the best offense since the greatest show on turf… You need more than a 15 point lead.
Either way this was my favorite season of all-time… Being a Bucs fan was FUN again and that is all I could of asked for… Was nice to know what it has been like to be a NE fan for all these years.
