Bountygate? That was a joke. The Saints were literally just the fall guy. Williams did the same think everywhere he coached and he wasn’t the only coach doing it. Plus, the evidence the NFL had against the Saints was so weak that when they bought in Paul Taglibue as an “independent” arbitrator to review the case…he literally threw everything out. Tagilbue was previously the NFL commissioner. Even he didn’t buy what the league was selling. The only Bountygate did for me was cement what a piece of shit Williams is. Dude literally ran the show and tried to snitch on everyone else to save his own ass.

This was my fam last night in a nutshell. Damn near everyone on my dad’s side is a Steelers fan so seeing them lose made it awkward.
I was a Skins fan at the time, but, as I’ve mentioned before, my best friend is from Minnesota and we’ve been watching football together for almost 20 years. I’ve been watching the Vikings for a long time- they were kind of my surrogate team before they became my main team. So to see that shit happen in real time, and then to hear the locker room recordings- yeah I took that personally. Sean Payton knew about it and tried to cover it up. I don’t consider that being a joke, sorry.
Maybe I’m biased, but FUCK the Saints.
Oh, and now we have Brees this year coming out against kneeling for the Anthem? Yeah.
Fuck the Saints. I hope they never win another championship until Payton is gone.
Also- my Trump-supporting uncle is a Saints fan because he’s also a devout catholic. Man, just the whole hypocrisy involved in all that has me biased.
It’s not a maybe. You are biased. Irrationally in this case. Williams coached the Redskins while you were fan and he was doing the same shit. He did it in Houston, Tenneseee, Jacksonville, and Buffalo too. It was literally common practice. The league couldn’t punish everyone so they tried to look tough by nailing the Saints to the wall.
The irony is that had Snitching Williams shut up, he probably would have made out better. If I were Sean Payton, I would have been jailed for trying to beat him to death. He cost that dude 7 million dollars. Can you imagine someone costing you 7 million dollars for some shit they did? How that fucker had a job, until the Jets canned him this season, is beyond me.

I’m not arguing with you about Williams being a piece of shit. On that, I agree. And I’m not arguing with you about being biased- I just fucking admitted it. I’m just trying to explain why.

I can promise you that Saints fans don’t give a damn about the Vikings. The only thing that annoys us is the media replaying Dugtrio Diggs’ fluke touchdown every chance they get. Compared to the Falcons and Cowboys yall are a non factor.
Be that as it may, there are a lot of Vikings fans who don’t care for the Saints. I’m not gonna hate on you for liking them. This is football and we all have a right to like or dislike certain teams. I’m not trying to extend any hostility towards you at all over it- I think fans fighting over teams is pretty stupid.
What i don’t like is someone telling me my dislike for a team is irrational- what that does is essentially say my feelings are invalid and that pisses me off. There are numerous teams I dislike in the NFL- Cowboys, Seahawks, Saints. And I have friends who are fans of those teams and it’s all just a friendly rivalry. Hell, I’ve been to several Seahawks games with a good friend of mine who is a Seahawks fan. We had a blast.
If the Saints end up winning this year, I’ll be happy for you. Sure, I may be bummed about the TEAM winning, but I won’t ever extend any misgivings to the fans.
Except Steelers fans. Those guys are fuckers

But I really hate it when people just casualy tell me my feelings don’t matter, and I felt insulted by you saying my reasons for disliking a team are a joke and irrational. It goes beyond Bounty Gate. And while Williams may have been the primary culprit, that doesn’t change the fact that what the Saints did to the Vikings during that game was fucked up, and I feel I have a right to hold a grudge.
I thought the cool thing was to hate the Patriots (well I guess not anymore since they went back to sucking LOL)
Even better was the Super Bowl when the Patriots lost to the Giants and gave up their perfect season. I was living in the middle of New England at that time, and my wife and I were the only people rooting for the Giants at that Super Bowl party. The sodium levels were through the roof.
Added cherry on top, I won the t-shirt raffle they had during half-time. I gave it to my mom.

Saleh would of had better options than the Jets if he wanted so I don’t get why he didn’t wait even if it is a year.
At least Meyer gets a amazing prospect at QB and some pieces but the Jets have almost nothing. I wish him the best of luck.
Every coach in the NFL from the coordinators to the sectionals aspires to be a head coach one day. I highly doubt most would become picky with the job if one became available even if that job is for the Jets. Still I wish Saleh the best. Looking at that roster, he’s going to need it.
