Okay, thanks. I did that and topped it out at 588,300.
Would any be kind enough to come on PSN and give me a little lesson on tri-dash/jump ing sometime?

Sweet thanksā¦
Does this work?
Reset: triangle jump, cr. M/H, S, air M, air M, air H xx air Mighty Strike (L), air L xx air Mighty Spark (L), air dash (UF) xx Mighty Hurricane
Iām trying to connect the light Mighty Strike with an air L and then another Mighty Strike but I canāt connect the air L
Also, connecting st. M to st. H doesnāt work, correct?
Is there any reason I should ever use M or H Mighty Spark? They just seem soooo slow that they canāt even be applied in a real match
Another question: Can anyone provide me with a combo that ends with Mighty Thunder otg? Or even just some combo(s) with Mighty Thunder or Mighty Punish in them. All the Thor combos I have include Mighty Tornado. Iād hate to neglect his other two hypers.
One more: To do a reset the opponent has to have recovered, right? So if I knock someone into the air and they recover whatās to stop them for inputting an attack before I can grab them with Mighty Hurricane?
how do you guys do corner resets? lately everytime i tried to go for a reset the other player just recovers in the other direction (out of the corner), is there anyway to counter this?
Jump back, air dash back. Reset is a mind game, it only covers certain options, there r always ways to beat it. You have to read where your opponent tends to do, button mashing, recover backward/forward or just recover neutral.
Was playing a few matches last night and I was hitting a jumping H or S to H to Might Strike to Mighty Tornado, its a pretty easy hit confirm into Hyper, Also to mix it up i switch to j.H or j.S to H to Mighty smash M to bnb or reset with H mighty smash. I was wondering does j.M Might strike crossup in the corner ? if you do it late ?
Speaking of cross-ups, Iāve noticed his j.S can if you time it right. Seems REALLY hard to pull it off but it seems consistently possible. From there you can transition to c.L, c.H, S, MMH, M.Strike (2hits) into Tornado for about 516k worth of damage. Simple combo but awesome damage. I donāt think Iāve ever seen an M.Smash cross up though
An awesome reset Iāll admit Iāve gotten very lucky to be able to consistently nail, is j.S or j.H, c.L, c.H, M.Smash, S, MMH, L.Strike, dash UF and immediately L.Hurricane. Because people on instinct air recover backwards, this hits just about everytime. If you land the L. air Hurricane, youāre left with another combo of choice. Good stuff. AND this isnāt relegated to just a corner combo! In the corner, savvy players usually recover the opposite way anyway, so this āanywhereā reset is powerful. Iām pretty sure this reset was mentioned here already, but wanted to point it out!
You can actually use H Mighty hurricane if you go UF because you are close enough. I would use this more because it does more damage and much less start up giving them much less time to mash anything stupid out. If they start to get smart and air tech forward then you can simply dash backwards after the L. strike and scoop them up with L Hurricane right as they are coming down to you.
For some reason I always have the HARDEST time hitting the air H.Hurricane. I keep trying and I always whiff, maybe because although the startup is faster, and I have an easier time connecting the L.Hurricane because of its slight range increase. Iāll keep plugging away though, I totally hear ya.
Hey Thor alumnus, Iām having a tough time completing his final Mission with the fully charged H.Smash. Iāve probably tried at least 100x to get the timing down but I canāt pull it. Hereās my question for those whoāve completed or who can consistently nail it. When youāre air comboing MMHS, are you charging H while airborne (and still holding it as you flying screen with S), then when you land input the H.Smash command and let go of H youāve been charging? I guess Iām asking if you can charge in the air.
You canāt. The trick is to hit the jump S as late as possible so that theyāre still as high as possible and youāre as close to the ground as possible. I donāt think itās something I would ever rely on in a match so donāt worry about it after you complete the trial.
Thanks Duck. I probably wouldnāt rely on it in a live match, itās just that thatās his final mission for me to complete!
Hereās a good combo I just came up with for people trying to get in against zoners with slow projectiles(sent/dorm, etc):
instant air Mighty Strike:l:(charged), land, j:l::h:, land, j:l::h: xx Mighty Strike:l: xx Thornado
564,300, 1 bar
instant air Mighty Strike:l:(charged), land, j:l::h:, land, j:l::h: land, :s:, j:m::h::s:, Mighty Smash :h:
439,300, no bars
Might be corner-only, I havenāt tested it much.
I was able to complete Mission 10 with a regular Mighty Smash. The timing on uncharged to Thornado is incredibly tight, but it can be done. I got tired of trying to time it and did an uncharged and saw it took it, soā¦
Iāve also heard X-factor makes alot of trials easier.
Uncharged o thorn ado works if the get hit by the last hit of uncharged. Also learning to o full charge really isnāt hat bad, just takes a bit of practice. Just do not try it online Ammie.
I have trouble getting in to start lots of combos with M. Hurricane, so I was in training and tried a combo that I only got to work once. Strange timing, seems like it may have been a reset with strict timing due to the j.L input after the mighty strike.
I did-
c.:lp:, c.:hp:launch j:lp:x2,j.:mp:, j.:hp:, Mighty Strike (:lp:), j.:lp:, :lp: mighty spark (air)
Again, I only get the timing to this once, and was surprised-can anyone verify this? It did about 12 hits, not sure of the damage. Dunno if its even useful, but just trying to find ways to get in without starting with a grab.
So I am trying to pick up thor and was wondering if anyone could point me to where a beginner could go to learn some of the stuff about him :s I am fairly new to the game but thor just looks too cool to pass over.
Right now aside from my terrible execution I am having problems kara cancelling and performing any kind of reset/air throw.
For the Kara, I can consistently get it so immediately after the hit he tries to do the command throw. As for air throws or resets, I have not been able to land a single air command throw and have no idea what a reset really isā¦
I think before learning the kara and the reset, any Thor players should learn how to move Thor around and create the openings. I think itās the hardest part of playing Thor.
I agree. Iād only played SF-esque games before I picked up MvC3, so itās been tricky to adjust to the feel of the game. I started on the missions which are fairly easy really and can do stuff like the karas really reliably, but they in no way teach you about how battles work, controlling space, negating projectiles/beams, etc.
Thorās been a big learning curve for me like that. I understand some of the useful principles behind Thor getting around (Strike, tri-jump, etc.), but figuring out where and when to use them without getting destroyed is a tough task, but Iām seriously enjoying it.
