To an extent I agree with what you’re saying, but right now Cole is the only person who actively attends tournies to gun for. Winning the last 3 Dojo tournies isn’t a small feat (not necessarily the biggest either) but he has managed to completely halt Carlos and Connor in their tracks to become the BEST in the tourney rankings. Because a lot of the old school players rarely make it out to anything on a somewhat regular basis nowadays aside from Tanaka we aren’t playing against that higher level of experience that other scenes have common access to so we have to consider our scene (at least on a tournament level) fairly young. The consistent top young players are B0kkin, DeLucifer, Ceramic Sugar, and Riki-Oh in no particular order. Those are the players that everyone is gunning for right now and until older Seattle killers return to the scene this is how it’s going to be.
It’s really gross, because all these guys are getting top 8 if not top 3 in almost every tourney they enter, but you and I know that if the old players (King, Peachy, Deezo, LTB, etc.) still took this game as serious as they did back before Evo 2009, the results would be quite different and it would be hard to tell who the player to gun for would be. I’m sure all of us would love for Seattle to be the best scene in the US, but with the amount of youth compared to OGs we have right now, it’s going to take a while.

There’s nobody out there you wanna beat (NW or beyond)? There’s no enriching friendships you’ve gained through this activity (again NW or beyond)? You just play solely to play the game itself and that’s it? The competition factor alone doesn’t entice you? Because if it didn’t, why even enter tournaments?
These are real questions btw. I get what you’re saying, but to solely say this is just for yourself seems sorta unfulfilling.

Conscription is not combo, Pyromancer is coming back thats true but uh it doesn’t win before turn 4, thats for sure. The empty the vaults deck cant win until turn million, and its unplayable anyway. So yea, honestly no combo deck has been capable of winning before turn 4(in type 2) since Dragonstorm, and that was largely a turn 4 and 5 deck.

To be honest, i guess i sensed the spirit of Riki-Oh cause I was basically going by age and mind set as well. People I picked have experience, have been around, know the street fighter tournament mentality and have been teaching the true new skool since this game has come out.
So id have to say the teams are pretty dead on. They are also all the players that have been excelling at a rappid pace (new skool im talking about). So dont be so sad, tournament results speak loudly.
Anyway, lets enjoy this. Hopefully it can go down this saturday cause i think everyone will be in the mix.

Everyone on the forums takes everything so personally, and I, like many others don’t particularly enjoy being called out by people. So, frank, we should money match since you think you can call out my Bison. But first, you need to stop being so mad. From my perspective we’re friends first, street fighter players second. REAL LIFE > SF. But, most of you may see things differently.

So I just checked my pockets and realized that I had over $800 in cash that I failed to spend last night during an epic binge.* I would like to re-challenge my former rival, Mr. Kuenai Fry to a set in either MvC2 or ST, and I’ll give him 2:1 odds. That is to say, I’ll put up my $800 to his $400. If he really wants, we can do a set of HDR instead, but I’ll require even odds. For despite Sirloin’s best efforts–and that shit really was the best that guy could do–HDR is far more fucking random in its results than ST.
Should I win, I will donate all proceeds to either the Afro Dojo or the MvC2/3 pot at NWM3. In the latter case, I would hand the money to Brento for safe keeping.
