So apparently Super Mario 3D All Stars leaked online - anyone heard how the camera in SM64 works?
Bought Splatoon 2 for $40, more than likely picking up Mario 3D all stars on Friday also.
expect to get splatted a lot if you play in ranked. My GF bought Splatoon 2 with me never thinking she would like it but she’s better than me. I tell her if Disney HR doesn’t work out, just stream Splatoon 2.
I’ve been playing Splatoon 2 late night for an hour or so before bed with a friend. If you see me on then by all means join in the games. Trying to get some friends better before we even arrempt ranked. We might do some salmon runs tonight.
I need to get back in Splatoon 2. Got that Super Mario themed Splatfest coming up. Plus I miss salmon run.
Phoenotopia Awakening was brought to my attention early this morning. I have no idea how I missed this initial August release but I keep hearing that it is similar to Zelda II.
Went to the eShop and bought it with yhe quickness along with Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King since it was on sale.
I won’t be back to posting until Monday as I’ve got a laundry list of personal projects I’m currently working on but I figured I’d drop this
Nintendo also created a tutorial video for Picross
Bruh DKC/DKC2 is more than worth getting NSO. If they can get Uniracers and Super Mario RPG next I’ll bust a nut
Looks at the time for the Nintendo Direct Mini …
FUCK
11am for me.
We good.
It’s at 9am for me, but that’s still fucking early as shit.
Meh, it gets recorded anyway. You just need to make sure you don’t read anything about the direct until you watch it.
Looks like the SM64 cameras are the same, but left and right directions have been switched. Bummer. SM64 also keeps its 4:3 aspect ratio.
And another annoyance- in Sunshine the water aiming controls were inverted in the original. Now they have switched to up is up, down is down. I hate that. It’s going to be really hard for me to adjust to that.
Good news is you can use the Pro Controller for Galaxy, and you just aim with the controller to get the star bits and whatall.
Hmmmm I may not keep my copy now. The fact that camera controls aren’t even customizable is really disappointing. I use normal for horizontal and inverted for vertical for every game. But my son doesn’t like inverted.
Are these hard to get? Maybe I should keep it and just resell it for a few extra bucks.
So it really is just a barebones 3 game collection. I hate in-game soundtracks as they do nothing for me. Still worth it though, and that’s probably what Nintendo thinks.
My bundle description was more apt then even I realized lol.
I mean, they’re limited, so they will be.
For the most part, yes it looks that way. But the upgrade in visual fidelity is pretty big, bringing them all to HD. SM64 is only 720, but that’s because it keeps the original 4:3 aspect. It’s still like 9 times the pixel count, and very noticeable.
Sunshine and Galaxy are both wide screen and 1080. All of them look considerably better than the originals.
For performance, SM64 and Sunshine are locked at 30 fps while Galaxy is at 60 fps. I wish they were all 60, but it does remove the frame hiccups from 64.
All in all, yeah, it’s a collection of the same games with a facelift. We’re not getting the same “All Star” treatment that the SMB games got on the SNES. I wish there were more quality of life upgrades, but I’m also positive that I will enjoy the hell out of this collection. So to me it’s still worth picking up.
I’m the same way, and yeah- that’s really frustrating. Just a shit poor decision to not include the option for aiming in ANY game made in the last fucking decade. I swear, Nintendo just doesn’t fucking get it sometimes.
Everyone always expects too much of Nintendo. I wasn’t expecting anything other than straight ports with some QoL changes and some polish.
My hype is not diminished
This is very disappointing. I guess I’ll keep mine as a collector’s item.
I have’t bought any of their collections like this before but apparently this is right on course for Nintendo.
