Mario Kart 8 is perfect as it is, and it needs no rebalancing or turning off on items.
Hard disagree. The Way items are dolled out is garbage, and the frequency of entire track hitting items is a massive nusance that gets in the way of the game. Thunderbolts being one of the absolute biggest offenders.

The only thing I’d change about MK8 is the % frequency on the lightning bolt since there isn’t any contingency or plan that can be made for it to deal with it. Everything else can mostly be dealt with or its effect lessened/mitigated. If there was some contingency that coukd be made for it I probably wouldn’t care as much but as of right now it’s have a ghost, star or bullet bill abd just pray that it happens when you use those items. Hell even like giving a warning before it strikes would be helpful for strategy purposes. Probably give a like a audio cue like a clap of thunder and then that gives you a second to get your affairs in order or activate your item.

A mixture of the two would be the best. Like let the first place get a blue shell rarely but don’t make it rare for the person in last place.

If the lightning bolt didn’t make you lose your items, it wouldn’t be nearly as bad IMO. That is by far the worst part of it.

Yea that’s the real big issue with the Lightning Bolt. You know i’d even be more tolerant if it only fucked the item in your first slot but it doesnt. It eats both items, shrinks you, and kills all speed and momentum. It just totally fucks everyone on the track but the person who cast the bolt.
It’s bullshit.

My first time planning to buy a LRG game. On their site the price is $55. Is that normal? Whatever, I’m getting it anyway. Been waiting for this physical release for a long time.

Idk. I’ve never ordered from LRG. Most the time I feel their asking way too much so it’s not worth it to me.
I also don’t really have a preference over physical or digital. I only care which one gets me the most for how little I have to spend.
Lastly, I don’t really give a shit or even think about games I buy digitally and not being able to play them 10+ years down the road. That’s not why I buy games.
Astral Chain 1st playthrough update:
- Finished a new file. Did as many red and green files as I could, after getting advice fron watching some Tips and tricks YT vids for the game.
- Unlocked Hit rush for Sword and Arrow legions
- Captured SWOLE (Arm) Legion!!
SWOLE Legion can be worn as armor and has the JO-JO Ora-Ora!!! attack!!

If we’re talking item ratio and purely that…then I’d prob say 64 personally. If I’m looking at game as a whole then I really like 8D because you can actually defend yourself. Lightning bolt is the only thing I’d change in that game.

The problem is that the items are there in lieu of character and vehicle balance. If you take away the Bolt and Bullet Bill, some cars are useless.
I’m not really for being able to toggle specific items on and off, then you run into Smash mindset nonsense.
Just need the frequency and mechanic for how they are handed out to be changed. Some items pop way too often for how powerful they are, and the items being based on how far behind first you are fucks over people for playing well.
Oh also get rid of green shells bouncing off walls directly at players. I’ve seen the footage, they don’t bounce off walls properly, they aim for the nearest driver. It’s also bullshit lol.
Animal Crossing being crazy popular is great but I am more shocked Xenoblade Chronicles DE did as well as it did.
