It’s so good! Link is easily the best character followed up by Linkle. After that it’s a toss up. Young Link is up there though.
I haven’t tried all the characters to make a judgement on who’s top tier. I made a tier list a long time ago for the Wii U version, but I can’t remember much about it except Link being high tier, and Agitha being trash. I should probably search for it.

Link is good because of his shield bash combo (X4Y I think? It’s been a while) he can combo the entire battle field with it. And it does crazy stamina meter damage on bosses. Just for that alone he’s top tier. Linkle is good at everything her X5 combo is probably the best in the game next to links shield bash combo I mentioned

I like DKC and all but the controls underwater in that game make some of the underwater levels just not fun. I’m cool with a game being difficult because it’s just challenging and designed to be hard, but when things are hard because the controls are just poorly done, it’s not fun. I got to the boss on the water level and played him like 5 times and die before doing much damage at all because of the poor swimming controls. Getting past this boss is not going to be fun.
Honestly when was a water level fun?
A ton of water levels from Mario titles and at least Hydrocity Zone would like to have a word with you

The water levels in DKC is always better when you have the swordfish. The newer games need more of the animal friends.
