The Nintendo Switch Thread! - Deadly Premonition 2: Blessing in Disguise 7/10 - Paper Mario: The Origami King 7/17

I wish that there was a right joy con with a proper d-pad. Playing 2D games on portable mode with the buttons is a pain in the ass.

Its a more of a pain in the ass to do, but there is a mod that bring back a proper D-pad.
Its a case/shell replacement for the Switch Jouycons

I don’t know if I want to go that far for a d-pad. I don’t have enough confidence to do that kind of mod myself

Yeah I figured you wouldn’t want to do it

Today’s the day for Wizard of Legend, folks… so far it still isn’t up on the eShop though; looks like I’ll have to wait until after work, sadly (yeah, like a hyped little kid I’ve been checking that damn eshop every 20 minutes or so ever since I woke up a while ago)…

and of course this Friday it will be HYRULE WARRIORS time… this is a week of greatness. :flushed:

I’m so glad you’re finally getting to play hyrule warriors, million. Its such a good game. If you like it like i hope you so you’ll sink 100’s of hours into it like i have.

this will be my 3rd time buying the game and the 3rd time i 100% it.

Ubisoft is apparently doing a sell on some of their games digitally, this includes Mario + Rabbids

Regular is 40.19
Gold is 50.39
and they also have rayman legends at 24.79
and if Uno isn’t shit then it’s 6.99

Okami Twitter account announces release date

Throwing this out as a reminder…This weekend if you have Splatoon 2 we are in the finals of the TMNT splatfest. It’s down to Donnie and Raph. Better go rep this weekend if you prefer one to be the top turtle!

Also I started my master mode file for BotW and rediscovering this game. This game is still so much fun exploring around. It is ROUGH as shit starting this game without the glider after having it for so long.

ok yeah this will be tough… Wizard of Legend is fresh so I’m just getting started with that… but then that Hyrule Warriors is Friday… and this is on top of me getting hooked on Pokken Tournament again lately (Mewtwo Supremacy all day every day, folks… can’t get enough of playing as that character and destroying these lesser Pokemon.).

Raphael better win.

If I get a chance to play I will be repping team Raph.

sheeeit, Wizard of Legend is some HARSH stuff, man… so far I’ve only managed to get to area 1-2… on two occasions. I at least made it to the boss that last time.

Hype for Hyrule Warriors. I own the Wii U version, but never played the 3DS version. I like the QoL changes they made to the Switch edition, although they could have done a bit more.

I didn’t realize it was coming tomorrow though. For some reason I thought it was releasing on the 22nd.

DKC is pretty damn good. I love the direction and art style they have in this game. The level designers in this game are also pretty damn incredible. Everything has it’s place I feel. And I love how the puzzle pieces are not obvious at all for many of them.

I’m one to pretty much find everything first time playing through, but not this game. There were some levels I had like 5/9 puzzle pieces and thought there was literally no other place the others could be. I like that a lot of it is not so obvious.

The game is also pretty challenging, but I’m not getting frustrated. I also have like 90 lives at this point so dying isn’t an issue. I’m on world 4 which I guess is the water world, and I love the style they put into this world. Reminds me of SNES quite a bit. The water world seems to be tougher due to controls too though cause swimming can be a bit tough when moving fast.

Overall great game though. After like 4 hours of play, I’m only on world 4 too and a lot of stuff to go back and get if I want to spend the time to do so.

I’m not sure if doing time trials is your thing or not, but the level design really shines through when running through a level as fast as you can. Every enemy and platform placement is intentional and allows you to keep momentum. Learning the best routes to shave off milliseconds and actually pulling it off feels so rewarding. I would spend hours on a single level just to get ranked- I think I made top 6 global on one level.

Does the Switch version still allow you to watch other peope’s runs in Time Attack mode?

I was not aware there is even a Time Attack mode lol. Maybe it opens up after you beat the game? I haven’t gone back and replayed any levels yet though so that could also be why I haven’t seen the option. I did notice I haven’t gotten any “DK” icons yet for levels, so maybe those are time trial icons?

If you go back and replay a level it should give you the option to do Time Attack. It’s pretty sweet because you get to pick which of the three companions you want. I usually opted for Cranky because I loved the Scrooge McDuck pogo cane to keep momentum. There’s a kinda difficult technique to master that allows you to almost instantaneously break a barrel in stride. It’s been a minute since I’ve played the game so I can’t quite remember exactly how to do it. Fuck, I’m gonna have to go pick this game up today.

I think you have to at least get a bronze-level time score to get the DK icon.
