The Nintendo Switch Thread! - Deadly Premonition 2: Blessing in Disguise 7/10 - Paper Mario: The Origami King 7/17

I just got to metro kingdom. But I stopped playing so I could play Steven Universe save the light.

when is that dropping on the switch…or did it already? i kind of want it for that instead of the ps4. how is the game though in your opinion?

anyway, i’m on leave so i have a lot more time to run through odyssey which is why i’m in the post game now. if i had to work i might not even pick it up at all lol. adult life > but <<<.

Save the light is for PS4/Xbone only right now.
And so far I like it. It reminds me a lot of paper Mario

Game would’ve been perfect on the Switch.

I really hate the food world… like it makes me want to stop playing lol.

@Million I look forward to your tales from skyrim post on the switch

yeah i did those segments and they were pretty fun. I heard post game actually has a lot of platforming challenges you get into through pipes as well

I finally made it to New Donk City! Man, it is super weird seeing Mario with realistic looking humans in a realistic looking world but I am already loving the look of this place. I got 35 the first time I played the jump rope mini game. Gonna try to improve my score later but I think my mashing thumb is rusty.

I don’t think Mario takes fall damage in this game. I’ve purposely jump from super high areas and Mario was perfectly fine upon landing. I know fall damage has been a thing in 3D Mario games since 64 but lives were tossed out for Odyssey, so I could see a few other things going bye-bye.

POKKEN—
sheeeeeit, my Croagunk is finally level 100. I haven’t even done the “story” stuff in a while; just battle mode over and over again since of course it’s quick to the action there. For some reason the devs decided to make AI-controlled Charizard and Pikachu into GODS. (*I wonder if it’s a bit of favoritism or simple marketing at play there…? Y’know, since those 2 just happen to be 2 of the most recognizable pokemon in the franchise’s history. Even people that never gave a damn about pokemon know Pikachu; it’s on that level with Mario and Mickey Mouse at this point.) Of course, it feels quite satisfying whenever I destroy the shit out of those 2 characters.

One nice detail I enjoy— that hexagon stats graphic for characters; heh, that takes me back… reminds me of the old days of comic book superhero/villain cards with the character stats on the back… I’m not sure why other games haven’t used that, at least that I know of. It’s such a small design detail but I like seeing my character’s evolution represented that way

11.17 will be quite the weekend, imo— it’s when Justice League debuts but it’s also when SKYRIM once again blesses us with its arrival to yet another system. Sheeeeeit, I will probably try to take that day off…maybe the Thursday too…or perhaps the following Monday…oh and before that we got DOOM of all things showing up on Switch…heh, quite a time to be alive, folks.

i’m in

[details=Spoiler]dark side of the moon[/details]. eh.
again, i have to look back at 3d world and then look at odyssey and its a step back in post game content for sure. at least IMHO. actually, its the perfect example of what i mean by these so called kingdoms really being levels or stages instead of worlds.

I plan on buying Doom for Switch. Don’t care if it feels a bit watered down, I would like to play again and support the chance for more FPS content on the Switch. What would have been even better is if we get a port of OG Doom 1 and 2 to Switch. A PC perfect port yiu can play anytime anywhere.

I’d like a Doom 64 port/updated rerelease for Switch. That game is sleeper fantastic.

Lets get an anthology of all the good Doom games on a single Switch game Card, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom 1, Doom 2, Ultimate Doom, Chex Quest, Doom 64 and Doom 2016

I haven’t even played half of those games and the thought of that happening still excites me.

Sparkle 2 Evo is out, I just noticed…and only a bit under 5 bucks…I haven’t played it yet but it looks quite interesting and at only that much I definitely jumped on it. The price is reduced to that (4.91) for a limited time—until 11/9.

I also noticed the old Mutation Nation is on there… I’ll have to do more research to refresh my memory there…it may be in that “isn’t quite as cool as I remembered it” category (the “enhanced by nostalgia” effect, some might say), like Magician Lord… I loved that game back in the day at the arcade; especially the music…but looking it up again recently—ehhhh not so sure ML is worth the 8 bucks, sadly.

I’d want pure sidescrolling. Remix the Nsmb games into one massive game, and I’m there. According to Mario fans on gamefaqs, though, the nsmb games were boring flops. Guess my taste sucks.

Xenoblade 2 Direct coming next week

I think I’m in the minority with this one, but yesterday I played Mario Odyssey for 5 hours on a train and played through New Donk City, and it’s by far my least favorite level in the game. I don’t like how vertical it is and how cramped it feels, and I also just don’t like the era/theme of the people in like the 1930’s or whatever all dressed like that. I also really am not a fan of the theme song of this game that was part of that level.

I was very happy to see it wasn’t the last world though because for some reason I thought it was, and it’s not even close to the last world. Damn this game is so much fun.

wasnt feeling new donk city either until the last section with the concert.

That part was actually really cool due to the retro level.
