I got 89 and Im basically starting Metro Kingdom
Spoiler
So my question is do I need to go to ‘New Game’? Because when I go to ‘Continue’ it has me at Sanctum with a star on my profile. Can I start the game with all my gear already and such or is it a clean start when I choose ‘New Game’?
i wonder if nintendo would ever consider doing something like giving us something similar to sonic mania but with mario.
the smb1 sections in odyssey would make a cool game if they put more effort into it and made the levels longer. i’d definitely d/l it to the switch and play on the fly
No lifed the weekend playing Odyssey. Just finished the main story. Looks like there’s a lot more to do post game but there are way too many power moons to collect. They’re like the Korok seeds of this game.

Except moons are fun to collect, Korok seeds aren’t.

Almost post game and I’m still not feeling odyssey like that.
The levels feel bare but they scattered moons and coins in random spots.
Hopefully post game will bring a smile to my face.
Odyssey is interesting. I’m not very far into it. I just got to the sand kingdom. I get huge Mario 64 vibes from it though.
Just finished Odyssey, mega underwhelming finale. I can list off my pros and cons with this game finally now since i have them together.
Pros:
-Cool themes for worlds
-nice controls
-really like the cappy gimmick
-game allows you to play at your pace and you are rewarded for being curious
Cons:
-boring and disjointed stage design
-forgettable music
-lack of platforming imo
Idk I don’t have too much to say other than the game is underwhelming, the stage design is it’s biggest flaw. I dont think stages are designed well enough to encourage me personally to want to search around all that much.
And they don’t feel consistent, some areas felt like they would’ve been good if this was like Galaxy and the area was committing to being a while stage dedicated to platforming to get the 1 star as opposed to a mini hub world.
Yeah, still a game i can recommend, only if the person is going in with the mindset of exploration and not expecting a platformer. I’d rather 3D Mario games continue to be what 3D World/Land is than traditional
I disagree 100% with level design. The level design is the best part of the game to me. It makes me want to explore every nook and cranny of every level, and everything in each level has a point. I’m not finished with the game yet but the worlds I’ve seen so far all feel incredible with incredible level design.
I just got to the woodland kingdom. Got about half the power moons that are available to me. I’ve almost gotten a game over due to how many outfits I’ve bought. I haven’t saved up enough to buy Mario’s boxers though. I have a mighty need for them though.
I scanned my wedding peach amiibo so I’ve been running around In the wedding dress. Mario is in a wedding dress is husbando material. Lol

That’s def fair. To me they just didn’t feel cohesive, some worlds felt like a bunch of separate levels that were just stitched together. But i think regardless if someone enjoys exploring they are gonna look around the levels unless they hate the world. I’ve found some “wtf” moons just from checking somewhere thinking “i bet nothing is gonna be here”
I put down Lyn Warriors last night to play some of super mario odyssey (seriously Lyn is so damn good). Barely scratched the surface of the game really. Beat the first 2 bosses and then picked up 10 moons. They tried to get me to leave cascade kingdom and I was like nah…I will go over there and take over that t-res tho!
Odyssey sold 2 mil over the weekend
Finally enough games out and on the horizon to cop the Switch. Bought it for my wife primarily - she really wanted to play Odyssey and Mario Kart. After I clear out some PS4 backlog, I’ll probably hop on Zelda. Still hoping they drop Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on Switch too.
beat odyssey… i’m in the post game now.
bowsers kingdom was flames no pun from start to finish. the boss fights in that kingdom were really nice. the platforming with pokio to get the purple coins and moons was flames.
i don’t think i felt one single so called kingdom from the beginning of the game up until the very start of bowsers kingdom. sand kingdom would probably be second on the list from this game for me with wooded being third or so.
i’m only in [details=Spoiler]the mushroom kingdom[/details] so we’ll see how i feel later.
Just noticed this:

Has anyone checked out the other street names if there are any?

Most of metro kingdoms main building and streets are donkey Kong references.
I’m only past the
Spoiler
the first Bowser fight
but there seems to be a lot of platforming. @DrellyFish have you done the platforming missions that don’t let you use a hat? Those were a lot of fun, but I get it if you are more about the 3D World style since that was my preferred game style, too. I’m digging the game here so far. There’s a lot of platforming workarounds for obstacles that are faster and require some precision.
You all that finished it already, are beasts. This won’t take me seven months to finish, like BotW, but I won’t be that fast either. That’d cause me to burn out in the game.
Completing the main part of Metro kingdom was awesome. Have to DL the song but keep forgetting to.
