Well that’s rather silly… who hasn’t connected Switch to the net by now? That would mean you’ve avoided the eShop for the entire 6 months the thing has been out. Whatever, it’s fuckin golf… so it’s not like that could ever be something I would consider playing for even 5 minutes.
Neurovoider– ok, playing this in handheld mode can actually hurt the hands after a while…it’s possible that could just be due to the tense way I tend to hold a controller on twin-stick shooters though. I was thinking a pro-controller might be needed here…but table-top mode with the joycon connector/controller was good enough…it’s not as stressful on the hands.
Also—if you’ve been on eShop lately you’ve seen this already; it’s been out now… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD93MqrhUyM
I recall seeing this on Xbox Live earlier…and I was going to get it but since it’s also on the Switch…sheeeeit, portability factor wins again. It’s going to be this way for me all the time unless a game takes a noticeable, unfortunate hit on quality for being on Switch. I’ll always prefer having any game in portable form. That is the superior gaming experience to me…that freedom to play your games whenever and wherever…that shit is GOLD.
Yes…You have Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and No More Heroes to look forward too. There’s also Splatoon 2 as well as as some other games both to look forward too and as well as already out depending on your tastes. What genres do you enjoy?
Nintendo’s been real good at staggering their line up this time around with the Switch. They’ve organized things so they’ve got one major title coming out every month.
October is a good month for the switch. got fire emblem warriors and mario odyssey coming out. Then december is xenoblade chronicles 2. which should be fun. oh and pokken dx comes out on this friday.
as for titles already out there is
zelda
mario kart
bomberman r
splatoon 2
mario + rabbids kingdom battle.
arms
i havent paid attention to the eshop really so i couldnt tell you whats available there
The further I get into Mario/Rabbids, the more I like it. The combat ramps up at a satisfying pace - even if it’s easy enough that I’m gold-ranking everything so far.
My only real complaint is that my current party (Mario, Rabbid!Peach, Luigi) is so effective that I’ve had very little reason to play around with Rabbid!Luigi and Rabbid!Mario. Rabbid!Peach’s healing and tankiness is just too dang handy, and there’s such a focus on mobility that Luigi’s jumping skills and sniper shots work perfectly.
Just get an SD card with Retro Pie on it and you just plug it into your Pi and turn it on. Just like putting a cartridge in your Switch, except you never have to take it out to swap games.
I seen too many people (some how) magically fuck up a Retro Pi setup.
And it’s not that simple. You still have to format and install a Linux Distro to an SD card (or pay someone way too much to do it for you) and adjust setting, define controls and place roms (usually in a obscure Linux fashion)
Also I seen the Retro Pi’s Emulation of Neo Geo, You have to use ether Mame (which is complete shit for emulation accuracy) or Final Burn Alpha.
And besides the Roms you also have to source a Neo Geo BIOS file. And if that Bios file isn’t a Unibios file you already fucked up.
And Mame’s Menu is ass for setting up controllers and file/folder settings, and the Retro Pi version of FBA you got to edit a config file manually.
And when it comes to Emulation, ACCURACY counts for everything. Inaccurate emulation is worst than hitting low frame rates in a FPS game. Having recognizable classic sounds completely distorted by shit emulation pulls me from the experience worst than any frame stutter.
And on top of everything else, you have to get the versions of the Rom that works with your Emulator. Mame and FBA roms aren’t interchangeable.
GnGeo-Pi is even worst as it uses its own file format that completely diffrent that Mame or FBA
Switch is Open up Eshop, buy said game, download.
Also the Switch Neo Geo games are much more accurate to the real hardware than the Rasp Pi ever will be.
I know I own a MVS MV1T 1 Slot board, I sat there and compare titles.
