Anyone know the best way to go from OG Switch to the new Switch with better battery life with the least amount of cash out of my pocket? Thinking about trying to do it before my flights in a few weeks just to be sure I have enough juice to game the whole time.
I should have just fucking done it when it launched and they had the good tradein value towards it.
You need a store associate in on this for it to work.
You need to trade in your old switch for a new one but after the purchase, transfer from your old switch to the new one.
Hence why you need the store to be in on it, usually if you explain what you are trying to do before hand the store is cool with it.
The other way would be do a sale of the old Switch afterwards

YOu can’t transfer downloaded games, so any downloads have to be redone.
You can also get a USB battery bank to recharge your switch on the flight.
I am talking about how to do it the cheapest method, not how to transfer accounts over. I remember reading about that when the new one came out though.
Trade your old one for a new model. That would be the cheapest
Of course if you don’t care about your saves and such, don’t worry about the transfer
You want to do a transfer if you dont want to lose saves, as the saves despite being on the SD card is encrypted to your account.
Your best bet is to go to GameStop or a mom-and-pop store to trade in the Switch and use the credit for the upgrade.
Also, for once Darksakul is right. If you ask to do a complete system transfer before/after the transaction is finalized they almost always do it. I know both GameStop’s I worked at did.
Yeah I was dumb not to do it back when it came out. I should have done it then but was debating on if I should, then it was too late and they took the extra credit they were giving for it away.
I do have some old iphones in my house that people gave me and stuff, that don’t work. I wonder if I could trade them in for some credit there to put towards it. Otherwise they are just sitting here doing nothing.

I hear from the BOTW modding community the Linkie model swap is better than the Zelda one.
The quest in BOTW where you have to follow one of the Korok’s through the Lost Woods without him knowing you’re tailing him is sooo cute. He pretends he isn’t afraid but his front is paper thin and adorable.
I have a feeling I’m setting myself up to be disappointed but tomorrow is the Switch’s 3rd Year Anniversary. So if they were going to an announce the first direct of 2020 it would likely be tomorrow and then it airing on Friday.
Or not.
Don’t give yourself hope, we may not hear about another Direct until closer to New Horizons drop date or after.
